The small chairs and tables go with the street vibe perfectly. There's a lunch menu (11:00am to 4:00pm) that's broken into noodle soup, stir fried noodle, fried rice, curry with rice and stir fried with rice. There's also a few special dishes that are only up on the walls/outside wall so check those before you order. Staff is friendly and fast with food. - Thai iced tea ($3.00 AUD) - really refreshing, not too sweet and tasty. Get it. - Pork boat noodle ($4.00 AUD) - this one is "off menu" but I saw several people eating it. Love the food here…read more I took a friend of mine here today who was skeptical about vegan food but after the meal we had he said he loved it and wants to come back next time. FYI: we ordered the Banh Hoi Ca as a main and Peking Duck as an entree. The peking duck came with 4 peking duck wraps. The mock duck was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, much like the real thing, which was encased in some sort of soft tortilla, cucumber, hoisin sauce and a few strands of carrots. This entree is tasty. My friend loved this dish. We also order the Banh Hoi Ca to share, which consists of steamed vermicelli bundle, Vegan Grilled Fish, plate of fresh organic vegies (salad, bean sprouts, cucumber, pickled carrots and daikon, mint leaves), rice paper and dipping sauces. Note there are two kinds of dipping sauces: mock fish sauce and "mam me" which i can't translate to english. The mam me is the best dipping sauce ! You will have to get your hands into this dish as you're required to wrapped everything yourself. You'll dampen the rice paper, then add the vegies, fish and vermicelli and then wrap it and dip it in your either the mock fish sauce or mam me. Don't worry each table is provided with hand sanitizer for you to use. The Banh Hoi Ca dish is good for groups of 2 to 4 people. I can't remember the price for the Banh Hoi Ca, it's either $15 or $18. Anyway, my favourite dish here is Com Tam which is the broken rice served with mock pork steak, tofu cake, mock shredded pork (which consists of strings of tofu, taro, chinese vermicelli tossed in rice powder--yummo), garnished with organic vegies and comes with dipping sauce (mock fish sauce) that you drizzle over the rice. priced at $10. OMG it's like the best meal ever. Serves: Hot tea, delicious fruit shakes, coffee. Dessert: There are a few dessert selections There is also a small menu that has western food: such as vegan burgers, vegan nuggets etc.. I have not tried it yet. FYI: Cabramatta has more variety and is much tastier than the Canley Heights Loving Hut. Different owners. The Banh Hoi and Com Tam dishes are served at both places. I've been to a few Loving Hut restaurants: Vietnam, USA and Australia, and each restaurant has different palettes and its own unique menu based on local ingredients and culture. I also liked the sound of the kina and prawn arancini with kataia fire mayo. Kina being Maori for sea urchin. This was a tasty morsel, with a crisp fried outer crust with a tasty risotto filling with nice flavour and the chilli mayo to add a bit of a spicy kick. For our entree we shared the cuttlefish as well as the king fish sashimi with tomatillo. I was happy to see that they had cuttlefish on the menu, although similar to squid and octopus. I prefer cuttlefish especially if it is well prepared. The cuttlefish in this instance was well prepared. It was tender with delicate flavour. The chilli, garlic, lime dressing and squid ink mayo enhanced the flavour. A great starter and share plate. The king fish was also a good option, nice and fresh. As this was a cold winter night we both decided on the slow cooked meat options for our mains, to help warm us up. I had the venison stew with corn bread to mop up the sauce. This was a hearty meal with rich flavour. The kiwis like their lamb nice and tender and that is how it was delivered. This was absolutely delicious, it was literally melt un your mouth. 16 hours slow cooked lamb shoulder served witb carrot and brussel sprouts. Up there with the best lamb dishes we have eaten. We also shared the jelly tip with white chocolate mousse. A nice way to finish the meal, light fluffy white chocolate mousse filled with jelly. We ordered crispy duck confit, kipflers with aioli, cuttlefish and chicken liver pate. Our page never arrived but it was good because the other 3 dishes made us really full. The cuttlefish was so amazingly tender and flavourful. The duck fell apart at the touch of your fork and the beans underneath was so full of flavour.
