My group of three decided to go with the Tapas and only two of the eight dishes we got were anything more than terrible. The worst part was the seafood. The calamari was overcooked, the mussels were old and rubbery and the only thing that disguised the prawns was the over zealous slathering of garlic butter. The only two dishes that were acceptable was the chorizo and the grilled haloumi, both of which are pretty hard to stuff up. When I say 'acceptable', I mean 'only just'. I've had better haloumi from Coles and the chorizo was so poor in quality of meat that it's quite possible they made it from the hoofs of the pig. Now for the atmosphere. Cheap coloured lighting mixed with cold, stark, white paint job left the entire place feeling like an empty hospital after the nurses' budget Christmas party - completely uninviting. All of that to say, I won't be recommending this place to anyone. Admittedly, it's been a while since I've been here, but a friend recently visited this terrible excuse for a venue and had an equally disappointing experience and it just reminded me of how much I hated this experience.

Hours on the road and wanting a hot meal, the craving of fish and chips set in with us being at The Entrance. Jimbo's was picked because what they clearly advertised as quality was seen in the back. Live swimming fish that anyone could choose. Also a selection of imported fish too. Let's do both! A Basa fish burger is what I ordered up first. Wasn't really expecting much as a good soft fried fish and burger cravings were absolutely ripping my taste buds apart but the very first bite, all was right in the world. The fillet was extremely hot and full of silly smooth textures and moistness on the inside. This fish was flash fried to perfection and removed at the perfect moment. The sauce is what it was, a simple compliment to a taste piece of meat. We came for the meal and once our order of seafood arrived, I thought "I think I should have waiting". The portion of a 'seafood for 2" could have been seafood for 3 or 4...with a side of mountain of chips. Again all the pieces we ate masterfully cooked. Mussels, calamari, seafood sticks and fillets were all catches inside and enjoyed with every bite. Probably the best seafood express I've had. I'll be happy to wait again and again each time on order here. Tho you have to buy all condiments separately, I woddled away happy. Back on the road again. Mark My Words
