I was notified that VIOC doesn't service transmissions if they have over 160,000 miles, which is funny considering I brought my Malibu in for the same service two months prior with 229,000 miles at the time and they performed the service at the same location with no issues. Now the senior tech is at my window saying that Valvoline passed that rule a month and a half ago, (how convenient!) they also wouldn't do it for the safety of the transmission and for liability reasons- which I can understand. Whether or not he was lying, this rule isn't anywhere on their website and the customer service rep onsite said there was no limit on mileage. The only thing that makes Valvoline unique from other shops is you get in line- no appointment, no borrowing cars, relatively quick, stress free and you're ready to go. Cambridge VIOC needs to remember that they are catering to people who 1. Don't really care about the vehicle (otherwise it would be serviced by John Hirsch's or another dealer!) 2. Don't have time to book an appointment and wait around for that day to come. That's not practical for most people. 3. If the review so far hasn't shown my thoughts, just have me fill out a liability waiver. I would have gladly done so rather than having to hear his cheap excuses for why they cannot perform that service.

They had to eventually call the tire store next door who recommended they remove the tire and bring it over for a new valve stem. Apparently, the valve stem had been corroded--which is reasonable since there are over 200k on my Tundra. I wasn't happy having to sit there for almost two hours while they struggled to fix the tire, brought it next door, put it back on the truck and finally got me on my way. This was supposed to be a quick oil change during my lunch hour. So, I wasn't happy with the situation but the two guys working there were very professional about the service. It wasn't their fault that the valve stem was corroded and broke. In the end, they didn't even charge me for the repair or the new stem and, in fact, they gave me a 15% DISCOUNT because the whole affair had taken so long!!! THIS IS WHAT GOOD SERVICE LOOKS LIKE. I don't write reviews often but it is so rare to get good service now-a-days that I feel obligated in this case. Great job guys! After getting our Pacifica serviced for an upcoming trip, I drove home and immediately started to hear a new noise coming from the front tire. I pulled in my driveway (only a few miles away) and my warning light came on indicating no tire pressure. I drove back and the Quick Lane Manager Ross Erickson greeted me "what's wrong, you just left". I told him what happened and he personally took in the van ahead of the waiting cars. Somethings to know: You are not making an appointment. You will more than likely sit and wait to get in. It says "15 minute oil change" but account for about 20-30 minutes per car. If you don't like waiting, go make an appointment somewhere. They will do an oil change, check your lights, fill your tires, top off your washer fluid and do a quick inspection of under the hood. They can change out batteries here. The employees I encountered were great! A stand out was Andrew (I believe that was his name) He was so great! Awesome costumer service skills! He's the reason I would come back to this location! He checked my engine light and made sure the car was safe to drive! What I needed repaired was more that what this place can do, but it gave me peace of mind until I could get to the dealership! Go to the website! They normally have a $10 off coupon! A complete lie, they had changed the oil on my 13 year old vehicle just a year before using conventional oil. She just wanted the upcharge. My truck has never used or needed synthetic oil, I should have walked away. I paid for something that was not necessary after waiting an hour and a half. Stay away from these scam artists, they can't even be trusted to perform a simple oil change.
