Maria and Maria were so incredibly helpful and made the evening run so smoothly. They arrived early, were ready to jump in on anything that was needed, and were simply delightful. I talked to other companies in the Bay Area but after speaking with Mike, he reassured me his team knew what they were doing and that confidence always made me feel better. In addition to being so communicative and responding to my emails and questions in a timely manner. What I wasn't expecting was exactly how much better they made the whole event. I later found out that there were some things like cups or silverware missing and Mike and his team so graciously went out and got what we needed. No hesitation or questions asked. Talk about going above and beyond!! My event coordinator worked more closely with them and had nothing but good things to say. My wedding was everything I dreamed of. I didn't want to worry about the little problems and luckily that was the case, all thanks to NorCal staffing for taking things off my plate (literally and figuratively). I can't thank you enough for all the hard work!!!! If you're looking for a sign to hire them, this is it! Your research is done!

It's my first experience in many years with a staffing agency and it is good for me to realize what is involved in signing on with an agency now. Years ago, I got a position through an agency - temp to perm - and stayed with that firm for many years. Then I went to grad school and have been applying for professional jobs at various libraries. Expect a big investment of time on the applicant's part--almost two hours to deal with all the paperwork (online) and that didn't include skills assessments (because I had covered that in a previous interview with Hayward). So I would expect an even longer investment of time if you are simply looking for office temp work. But when you're unemployed, I guess it is worth it. If you don't have a computer and need to use the public library computers, for example, you will need many extensions of time! But I think AppleOne will let you use their workstation. There are a lot of work-related protocols, rules, and policies that they have to cover, and my reps did it very well. For all the time that we spend on the application process, I am sure an equal amount of time is spent at their end covering all the legal details, and making sure the future employee knows all the rules. I appreciate their very efficient Web timecard system and the weekly paycheck with direct deposit. I work per diem also with City of Oakland and they have NOT automated their timecard system for temp workers. On the other hand, they do direct hire and the temporary part-time worker is represented by the same union as regular workers, and we get better pay. I understand that a smaller city might have to go this route, though. I am interested in using my librarian skills at some outside-of-the-box jobs that are occasionally advertised, but I would have to educate the Apple One rep about which companies and job titles these would be. So I'm not sure I could get job search help here for professional jobs. I got the impression that the temp jobs are mostly administrative assistant/clerical/receptionist type positions. Note: for first time visitors to the Pleasanton office, a map or diagram of where the office is located within an office/shopping complex, would be very helpful. Unless that is part of the assessment test!

Getting a new job is a big deal and can change someone's life, what you do makes a difference. This position ended up being perfect for me and is helping to positively change my direction. The cake is so good and right on time, I needed some chocolate in my life this morning.

When I first started looking for a job a year ago, I was trying to return to the work force after 11 years of hiatus from it. It wasn't easy, and I didn't know where to start. I reached out to JuicyBlue, and Brandon got in touch with me. He spoke with me at length about what I wanted to do and about my experience. I had never worked with an employment agency before and didn't know if I was supposed to pay him, so I asked him. He laughed and said that no, he doesn't take payments from job seekers. I may be misremembering, but I think he said that he gets his commissions from the companies after he places workers with them. Anyway, this kind man told me that even though he couldn't place me at that time, he would work with me to get me a job. He asked me to send him my resume. After reading it, he called me again and told me what I needed to change, to make my resume more accomplishment-based and less role-based. I didn't know it at the time, but my resume was very much in the 90s style(!) and he was bringing it up to the current standard. And he's just a nice guy, I really enjoyed talking to him. We spoke a couple more times, where I updated my resume and he gave me more feedback, and gave me some tips on interviews. Shortly after that, I applied to my current company (using the resume that Brandon helped me polish), and got the job of my dreams. I cannot thank Brandon enough for giving me hope and help during a pivotal part of my life. I hope more people are like him. I've heard horror stories of employment agencies using people and disappointing them. But Brandon is the real thing. He really wants to help, and he has helped me, without taking a cent from me.

I tried this agency and was assisted by the staffing manager Brett Stockstill..THE WORST. If you…read moreget assisted by him be prepared for a lot of miscommunication and someone who isn't truly trying to help you find work that best suits you but make their commission of filling jobs. He is more interested in filling the position vs making sure the position is a good fit for you. I took the position with Veritiv All American Containers thinking I would be accepting a receptionist position but it turned out to be a position where I filed all day everyday to the point my back started hurting. The company had me filing from a desk chair on low file cabinets and when I inquired about a stool I was offered by the company lead Sandy that could be purchased she had to backpedal because the manager, Brett Pierson first said budgeting issues then said because I was a temp. When I asked the manager Brett Pierson myself he acted as though he didn't say he wouldn't approve the stool. Of course Brett Stockstill with Randstad, trying to keep the position filled for the agency purchased a stool ignoring my requests of being removed from the assignment. After the situation with the company not fulfilling a reasonable accommodation for me without the help of the agency I really became uninterested in the work and the company. The manager of the company, Brett Pierson was extremely on a high horse and bothered me everytime I used my heater with unwanted passive aggressive comments. I was initially told I could use a heater with the other staff as long as I purchased my own. He became harassing and aggressive when he would come in to work and I would be using my heater to the point they created a time schedule when staff could use their space heaters to satisfy when he was hot or cold. My desk of course was stationed under a vent that constantly had cold air coming down on me and when I brought attention to the vent and how first a schedule was created and then I was forced to turn off my heater with the manager practically talking to me like a child in a unprofessional manner I was the problematic person. When I spoke to the other temp who recently became permanent he told me he had the same issues with the manager until he moved desks which was out of the managers door view of him bothering. Other staff also complained stating he was a new manager not the best on managing properly and in time I would adjust to his behavior but the environment for me was uncomfortable. When I brought the situation again to Brett Stockstill he stalled when I asked to remove me once again making it my 3rd time requesting to be removed. He waited until I finished my shift to tell me the assignment was terminated by the company which was absurd being I was resigning from the assignment and called him that entire day asking him to remove me vs me walking out. When I spoke to him he gave me excuses of he misunderstood and that he even failed to mention to the company when they called terminating the assignment that I, the employee was no longer interested and had been requesting removal and it was already taken care of. In my opinion, he should've made that call to the company when I let him know I was no longer interested and removed me immediately but instead he stalled and avoided my calls. It became a hassle getting my personal belongings and still didn't get all of my belongings though small belongings. I do not suggest working with Randstad especially BRETT STOCKSTILL and wouldn't recommend working with VERTIV ALL AMERICAN CONTAINERS either unless they get a manager other than BRETT PIERSON. I left this position super frustrated as I did a lot of busy work and the position advertised otherwise when I ended up mainly filing because they were years behind and labeled every blue moon. I even later found out from another employee the side projects of cleaning and busy work were assigned to the Lead Sandy who was passing it to me though it was my work load. I also must mention my car got hit twice in their company parking lot from their big rig trucks coming/going for shipments. I asked another employee about it and he was well aware and said it happens and had happened before.
