Last week I had to take an exam for a certification. This testing center was the most convenient to my location. The staff there was friendly and very informative on not allowing personal items into the testing area and the dos and dont's. Arriving on time, some quick verifications were processed and on to the testing area within 10mins of arrival. I didn't know any rules of this testing center before I stepped in for my exam. I hope this post can help some people to be more well prepared. The testing room temperature is set for 72°F. The only personal belonging you can bring into the exam room is your photo ID. All the following items will NOT be allowed into the testing room: - hat - any hoody and/or pocket on the jacket or sweater you wear - scarfs - watches or bracelets - your ear plugs (need to use theirs) - tissues (have to use theirs) - wallet, credit cards - bag (locker is about 10x10x10inch-ish. Can't find a general rating site for this company, so will just post my rant here. I can't believe a State Government (Cal) would allow this company to the the CONTRACTOR for STATE EXAMS! what has happended to this state? Their website is an absolute JOKE. The phone number on their 'contact' page takes you to a call center in Bangladesh. Not ONE person could help me set up an exam date and one call just hung up on me. Finally, three days later, got someone from Las Vegas who told me that contact number ON THEIR WEBSITE, is their INTERNATIONAL number, and they can't help. She gave me the US number to call, but when I called it the next day, because things were still screwed up, I was back in Bangladesh. Their website also offers numerous testing locations near me, but they don't administer the test you need. So I have to dive five hours and spend the night at the nearest place to get my test done quickly. Why can't they test in more that 5 places in the WHOLE DAMN STATE OF CALIFORNIA? Absolutely HORRIBLE experience. Waited for over an hour to get my name verified before taking my exam and now, almost 3 weeks later I'm still waiting for my exam results which are supposed to be given to me immediately upon exam completion AT THE LOCATION. Wow, what a joke of a place I took my test at Extremely rude dark and dingy place. I took my test at night when I got out of my test my car was locked in the facility and there was no one else open I tried to get back into the building and it was locked so I went around to the window and knocked on the window to get their attention and an assistant came out I let her know that my car is locked in their gates which I pulled the car all the way up to the gate and she let me out after that I got a notice in the mail That I could not take the test in that facility anymore! PSI Examination Site - This Location closed in 2017!!! - Test Preparation Near Me - Burbank, California

The staff, location, and environment of PSI Examination site are fantastic. The staff themselves were kind and attentive, and made an otherwise nerve-racking experience much more tolerable. I would recommend that if you are planning to take a test here, bring a cardigan or a jacket without pockets because it can get pretty cold in the testing room. If you bring a jacket with pockets they will ask you to hang it up outside of the testing room. Also they have small lockers to keep your items in but if you have a large purse it might not fit. They made me also keep my bracelet in the locker even though it's a delicate one. They asked me various times if I had gum or tissues on me. The testing room has many cubicles with computers. They provide earplugs and sound blocking headphones in order to minimize distractions. Regarding parking, I parked in the lot but I took my test at 6pm so there were many empty spots. There is also street parking nearby if need be. I see some reviews here complaining that psi doesn't pick up the phone when people are trying to contact them but that hasn't been my experience at all. If anything, they were really good at picking up the phone quickly and answered my questions without problems. P.s. I passed my tessttttttt!!!!! Yay. read more

When you enter the building, you have to let the security guard know what exam you are taking, and they will call the staff to come greet you at the lobby. There was this lady in her late 40's wears her glasses came greet me at the lobby. She was friendly when greeting me. Showed me the locker, and asked me to take off my jewelries, turn off my phone etc. I was directed to check in at the desk, to show my ID, and do my fingerprint. The guy told me that they cannot allow me to take my test because my first name and middle name were mixed up! After this, the friendliness from all the staff was gone! They then treated me as if I committed a crime, and literally kicked me out of the testing center! The only thing they adviced me to do is to call my board and asked for help! I called my board and got someone on the phone, and I told the lady who greeted me! She ignored me and said "you need to tell your board to call whoever she needs to call!" I asked politely if she can give me a name, and again she refused to provide me with a response. After delaying for 3 hours, my board was finally able to get a hold with whoever they need to get a hold, and allowed me to take the test! Once that was approved, the same lady greeted me at the lobby again "hello, everything is all set!" (OMG, she is sooo fake, and I would say - she has double faces!) Staff needs to be trained for customer services for sure! *if you want to pass your test, don't come here. Staff are not helping, but induce anxiety before your exam! read more

Thank you to all the other posters who provided good info and helped me be totally prepared to take the test. I went in with a sweater with no pockets as I'm sensitive to cold and with the sweater it was fine. It actually wasn't too cold there and I may have been okay with just a t-shirt/top, what have you. I checked in about 1/2 hour to 45 minutes prior to my test-taking time and they let me in which was great. Breakdown of what happened: I parked in visitors parking in front of the building. Walked into the lobby and there were signs directing you to PSI's offices/test center. I also saw signs for the bathroom so went to the bathroom first before checking in. After the bathroom, I entered offices where I was greeted by an employee who directed me to a locker where I could store my stuff and he asked for my ID, if I was chewing gum, and if I had anything in pockets, etc. I deposited my things in the locker and he took my ID to one of two large desks where ladies sat with computers and they interviewed other test takers. I was advised to sit in the rows of chairs till they called my name. I waited a couple minutes and my name was called and I went to one of the desks where they again asked if I had anything on me and I had to sign a couple things that acknowledged the rules. The lady at the desk also read all the rules pretty fast. She took a picture of me and then I was directed to sit in the waiting chairs until they called me and was advised to use the bathroom if needed. I didn't so they called me right away, reasked if I had anything on me and if I was chewing gum, and I was then taken into the testing room by an employee to the cubicle where I was to take the test. The cubicle had the computer/keyboard/mouse, noise canceling earphones, a package of earplugs I could use, a sheet of paper for notes and two pencils. The employee signed me in to the computer and left. I sat down and there was a short tutorial on how to use the test and the buttons and the like. They had a sample test you could do and then the exam started. Overall it was quiet (I had the earphones on) and nothing was distracting. The computer worked perfectly. I finished the test and left the test taking room and the employee gave me my key so that I could remove the items from my locker and then again asked me to wait in the chair till they called my name. They called my name and I went up to one of the desks where the employee gave me the results of my test and then I left. Employees were nice throughout. There were about four people in the waiting room at around 1:30pm, so not too busy and about five or so people taking tests with me. Overall the whole thing was very efficient and with no stress. I have never dealt with a more incompetent company. I took the NH Real Estate test in Fall River. I passed the test. The person that told me I passed, charged me $90 to get my license even though I said that PSI wasn't the one to issue the license, NH Real Estate Board does that. Once she rang it through, her supervisor came over and said "oh, you shouldn't have charged her for that"... I asked for a refund right there and they said they couldn't issue the refund, it had to come directly from PSI. but they would submit paperwork. That was January 9, 2023. It is now March 22 and I still am trying to get my $90 refund. PSI is telling me to drive 1 1/4 hrs to the test site to get the refund and the test site is telling me they can't issue the refund. Ive told my story on the phone to at least 8-9 people over the last couple of months to no avail all while waiting on hold to speak with someone at least 45 minutes each phone call. An absolute runaround and I am beyond frustrated. It's only $90 but it's the principal of it and I won't let it go. read more

I passed my exam. But the testing experience was not optimal. The computers were old and it felt like my exam could glitch at anytime. They only had a couple of fans for a big room on a hot day. Since the bigger tenant left they must have decided the air conditioning was too expensive... During the exam I couldn't think because of the heat and my t shirt got sweaty and stuck to the chair, I had to take a shower when I got home. I've tested at an ETS center where I felt comfortable during the exam and expected nothing less when I went to this PSI facility. The staff was nice and professional which keeps it from a 1 Star review, but everything else about the experience wasn't great. read more

This was the worst most stressful experience of my life. If I could give it negative stars I would! So here's a lowdown: 1. First of all they don't have in house bathrooms at the center, you need to go outside to disgusting port-a-potties. 2. They put me with my back to the door. When I asked to be reseated in the mostly empty test center so that I wouldn't have people walking in and out behind me during the test they gave me an incredibly hard time. I had to really advocate for myself to get that "exception". Apparently you are supposed to ask when you check in. But does anyone let you know that? No! 3. The computer glitched not once, but twice during my exam. The first glitch was 3/4 of the way through the exam. The screen froze and then kicked me out. They fixed the first glitch, so I just thought that's cool, I'll finish the exam and this will be over. The second glitch froze the exam when I was almost done, I was checking my answers already. After sitting there for 20 minutes while they were trying to fix it, they told me that they could not fix it and there was nothing they could do. I talked to the supervisor, Chris, I told them that they are responsible for fixing their glitch, but it felt like a brick wall. They gave me a customer service number and said that's all they can do besides filing an incident report. They said that customer service will see the incident report and "maybe" be able to help me. 4. So here's the kicker, I have a window of 3 more business days left to take this exam until I have to pay the whole exam fee again. It's an expensive exam! I spent forever on the phone on hold with customer service (the number from their website) and was transferred a few times. They said that they don't see the incident report and that it takes 72 hours to resolve and they do not guarantee that I don't need to pay the fee again! After their screw up! The lady on the phone, Yula, was super rude as well! So I call another customer service number, the one they gave me at the center, spend 45 minutes either on hold or having the connection dropped. I finally reached, Tamara, a customer service agent that actually knows about customer service. She took down my info and said they'll get back to me 24-48 hours later and that she'd put a rush note on it for me. So she alone deserves some stars. The whole experience overall, customer service, and their professionalism was abysmal (except for Tamara). If you want to be stressed, patronized, and spend unnecessary money and energy feel free to take your test here otherwise do not go here if you can avoid it! read more

PSI was recently awarded the testing for the CCB exams in Oregon. We worked with PROMETRIC several times and never had the problems we are experiencing with PSI. We only need to have one person take one test, and we have made daily efforts for over a week. To begin with, they couldn't even find the student. Even though they provided an email confirming receipt of him registering, they couldn't find him in their system for 3 days. It has been 7 business days and over 20 phone calls, and he is still not scheduled for the exam. We have spoken with several different people in customer service, and no two agents have advised the same process. The $60 test fee has turned into at least $200 worth of our employees' time, effort, and energy. And, we still don't have it resolved. read more

Wonderful test center. I came here for Psychology license exam. Upon the arrival, there is a security guard in the lobby for check in, and then you'll have to wait in the lobby for the test center staff coming out to get you. Very strict on security. The staff was very friendly and patient. The person who did the checking process explained everything to me slowly and clearly. If you want to use restroom, you'll need to get the restroom pass from the staff, for test security reason I think. And it has to be after you lock your things in the cabinet. They do provide a small cabinet for your personal belongings, like keys and phones. All electronic device has to be turned off and locked in the cabinet. They are also very strict on things that you can carry into the test room, mainly nothing. Bracelet, watch, credit cards, anything you name it, you need to either lock it in the cabinet or your truck. The temperature in the testing room was actually pretty cold (for me). I wore two long sleeves just in case I don't get sick again. They do not allow you to wear a jacket or a sweater with any pockets on it. So, make sure you don't wear things that has pocket if you need an extra layer. Their staffs are required to show you your test result. Don't be surprised. After a nerve wracking afternoon, I passed the exam!!! Yay! I guess this test center has good feng shui. :) Highly recommend anyone who is going to take a professional test at PSI center, choose this one! read more

This place is very clean and organized. It's a small office but they do have a good amount of computers for testing. It's very quiet and you get your results right away. You can also take your fingerprints there on site if needed. The only down side is that they are very strict. I had a sweater on with pockets and I had to take it off. Luckily I had a tank top on under. There are lockers that are locked indivdually so you don't worry about your stuff being taken or misplaced. Overall, I would return if I ever needed to take another exam. read more

I took my first licensing exam here, and despite personally being sort of wired and freaked out and whatnot, I could still appreciate how well the test center is run. The employees were all professional and courteous while checking everyone in, including having us place belongings in lockers, making sure we weren't wearing watches, reminding us about other restrictions, and telling us what would happen next. We were each processed swiftly, and I felt all explanations given (breaks, scratch paper, etc.) were adequate, and questions were welcomed. Considering every test-taker there looked nervous, the calm presence of the employees and the methodical processing must have given everyone a little comfort. I did find myself irritated at one point with an employee checking me in/out for a restroom break, because the first break I took was just a quick sign-out, the second required my signing some different form; the woman doing this had to ask someone else a question, all of which was cutting into my test time. She seemed new, or perhaps the first person hadn't done what they were supposed to do; whatever, I passed, but I had enough stress without this part. The test room itself was neat, clean, and well-lit, and I was pleased to find that packaged earplugs were present at each cubicle in case we wanted them; we hadn't been told about that. The building itself was quiet and clean. The lot has tons and tons of parking; the outside of the building doesn't indicate that PSI is housed there, just various TV channels and Hasbro, but yes, you're at the right place. Personal tips and reminders: you can't wear in a sweater/sweatshirt with pockets or a hood, and they WILL make you hang that up if you do. I found the room slightly chilly, so if you want to bring something a little warm, take heed. PSI will give you a locker, so don't worry about leaving your purse in the car. You can also bring a snack and water, which they keep outside the lockers, and you can just leave the test room when you want and go drink/eat. You only have to check in/out when using the restroom, which has a five minute time limit; this includes the time it takes you to get to/from the restroom, which is fairly far down the hall. If you need to take Imodium in the morning, or put a just-in-case tampon in your pocket to make sure you don't exceed that five minutes, do it, because taking too long might void your exam. You have unlimited restroom breaks, as well as lobby snack breaks (or maybe you just want to go out there to stretch your legs). Take those breaks to move, breathe, and remind yourself how awesome you are! Pass that test! read more

Thank you to the user who mentioned NOT to bring a sweater with pockets. Will also mention that they don't allow gum into the testing room. Compared to Pearson in Pasadena, this one was less strict ( you don't have to raise your hand to leave the room, but they do video record and monitor you), but you also get free parking! I hit traffic coming here, so make sure you give yourself ample time to get here and check in. Their recommendation to be here 3o min before the exam was an excellent recommendation. This place did take longer to check in than Pearson because there were other people waiting to take their test too (this was 1:30pm on weekday), but they did try to expedite this by having someone check you in. Overall ~ 15 min to check in. During check in you get to put your stuff in a locker for free. You have to turn off your cellphones. They will then ask for your 2 forms of ID (make sure you have the required ones!) Afterwards, they go over rules, have you check to make sure all the info on their computer screen is correct, sign a short document or two. Go over rules, then you're set to test! Testing: You get earphones, 2 pencils and paper. The temperature was perfect, they have a tutorial so you know how to use their computer system. I personally did not like the font that they used- made it a little harder to read for me, but that's just my preference. Excellent . I went this morning and from the first moment they were very professional and courteous . A gentleman came out at 8 am and explain he would take us back to check in . The entire process was very efficient they give you a small locker where you can put the wallet and car keys .Once they check your documents you can use the restroom before you start .I read the other reviews so I was prepared ,did not bring anything else but what I mentioned before .The temperature was perfect not hot or cold , I brought a thin sweater just in case but end up taking it off .They provide pens , scratch paper , noise cancelling headsets ( they don't really cancel much but they also provided ear plugs so I used both) .Parking is fine if you arrive early. My experience with this place was pleasant. The staffs were professional and follow strict testing regulations; so no food, gum, water bottles, cellphones, laptops, smartphones, study materials, or jackets. They give you a small locker so they advise you also not to bring a big bag. Depending on your test too, like mine, may require two ID. Luckily this was all emailed to me and my check in time was prompt without hassle (unlike the guy before me who had cellphone, laptop, and tablet to which he had to all power down). When you go inside the building you'll have to check in with the security at the front desk. The testing center sends out personnel to get you from there so may need to wait a few minutes. There's parking all around the building and street parking also. They give you a bathroom key when you're excusing yourself to use the facilities and reminded that you only have 5 minutes or you forfeit your test. The other staff helping after my test folded my results paper in half and I thought I failed, but passed. Maybe next time give a more matching signal since this is perhaps one of the most nerve racking test we would ever take, lol! read more

Decent staff, facilities, and location. I went towards the end of the day and really had no trouble in any way as described by others. The computer worked fine, the check-in and waiting was standard. I can see maybe why people would be put off by the staff as they were kind of just hanging out and talking among themselves, but they were all friendly too me. I guess everyone is different. Yes the computers are old but it got me through what I needed. Not sure about the port-a-potty comment, perhaps there was construction going on for the reviewer? 0 Stars ~ BEWARE! - Should have a zero star option. The most horrible experience I have ever had with any business. They make you take a 10 question survey before they will even let you finish exam and get your results. The survey should be given after you leave facility. The people at the facility are rude and there is no signs on the buildings. Looks like they just rent temporary space and then move like a carnival to another location. I have spent hours trying to schedule an exam due to having to call to schedule it. They clear phone lines after you are on hold 20 minutes. They just hang up or tell you to leave a message. I have left 8 messages and never received a call back. I have emailed 4 times and never received an email back. This is such a horrible company that I can't believe a company would entrust PSI to test and certify people. Tell your employer not to use this company.
