The tutoring structure is well built. They do have experience and their tutors are fabulous. The owners are polite. My son did get the help he needed for his 6th grade advanced math struggles and final testing.Their professionalism isn't questionable. What got me disappointed is the impressive greediness, excessive ambition, a slight inflexibility. I asked for a meeting/consultation to get feedback from my son's tutor, to determine if he was in the right math program at school. I asked for a brief 5 to 10 minutes. They suggested that it wasn't enough time to talk so they suggested 30 minutes, I said ok. Then one of the owners said they would charge me $ 30 for the 30 minutes because it was the tutors time. I suggested this was overboard with their policy when I only need 5-10 minutes. They replied that they have charged $100 for consultation.It sounded to me like a law firm more than a tutor center. The sensation I was left with was that the chance they get to milk money from me they will do it. They are also willing to burn a long term client for $30 dollars. Their payment policy is not open or inviting for a long term business relationship. They give you $10 discount if you pay 5 classes in advance ( $65 x hr). If not you pay $75 the hour and in advance as well. In today's market, flexibility and keeping up with market trends is key to making business fresh and alive. So if you as a parents are seeking for a quick alternative for your child to get through exams and finals, go for this tutoring center, but it is a quick fix. If you are seeking for a long term tutoring with client accommodation go somewhere else even if other tutoring places are more expensive. For long term and regular tutoring as an option it is best to have flexibility in payment processing.They don't have Venmo, PayPal, etc. they write your credit card number on a paper and keep it on file.We are already struggling, juggling life to help our children be their best, to complicate with tutoring hassles when there are lots of tutoring options. The problem: My daughter's 6th grade math teacher had embraced "common core" methodology so completely that there was little to no actual teaching in the class. The students were left to figure out the curriculum more or less by themselves. Even though my daughter had maintained an "A" in the class through the first 3 quarters of the school year, my wife and I became concerned that our daughter was not receiving instruction sufficient to prepare her for future math courses. Our daughter was becoming increasingly more frustrated with her teacher and her class and the lack of instruction & it was clear to us that if we did not take action, her grade was likely to go down over the final quarter of the school year. The solution: One of our daughter's soccer teammates had been enrolled at Success Tutoring and very highly recommended Success to us to help our daughter with her math situation. We met with the very experienced, organized, knowledgable & congenial folks in charge at Success and were very impressed with their understanding of our situation, their assessment of our daughter's abilities and needs & their recommendation of a tutor to assist our daughter. We signed our daughter up for 10 weeks of tutoring - enough to get her to the end of the school year. Each week our daughter happily attended her one hour tutoring sessions, knowing generally what she wanted to review with her tutor. After each session, she had only very positive things to say about her tutor and his effectiveness in teaching her what her math teacher did not. In other words, our daughter had an extremely POSITIVE experience with her tutor. And she has retained her "A" in her math class. The final is in a few days and she feels very prepared. Recommendation: I would happily, unequivocally & strongly recommend Success Tutoring to any family with a need for outside assistance with any of very wide variety of subjects. We are thrilled and relieved to know that if / when a situation arises in the future where either of our kids need academic assistance, we can turn to Success Tutoring for guaranteed help. Like all institutions, public schools are flawed, and situations requiring outside assistance do arise from time to time. We are thankful & reassured that when such situations do arise, Success Tutoring will be there for us! read more

Our daughter needed help in all of her subjects but math especially was painful for her. She just wasn't "getting" it. We had called "Success Tutoring" and put on a waiting list. A few months had past and I called back. They seemed reluctant but asked us to bring her in for an evaluation. The evaluation was given by one of the owners and during the abbreviated "assessment" told us that my daughter didn't need tutoring, she needed Organizing Skills and if she would get her homework done in time and handed in, she would probably get a "C". I had to ask him if we were speaking about the same student. I asked if he saw her test and quiz scores, if he had her do any math equations. His reply was that their policy was not to tutor students that didn't want tutoring. I asked my daughter if she told him that and she said absolutely not! I had called to talk to him, more out of shock than to convince him she was a student that truly needed help. She is a "D' student bordering on an "F". I just didn't get it, here was a student needing help in algebra and the "math expert" was telling me she needed "organizing skills". I guess my concept of what tutoring was is all wrong. I thought tutoring was to help students who really don't understand a subject and put in the work and pride to watch that student succeed and watch the students self esteem grow. What I found out is that "Success Tutoring" will help already smart student become smarter, but if you weren't already at their certain level of competence, they don't want to put in the time and effort. It also seemed like they had an easier student who they wanted in the open time slot and felt obligated to see my daughter. After the "assessment", my daughter sat in the car and cried. She thought she did something wrong and that no one wants to help her better herself in algebra. As for "Success Tutoring", if you have a low maintenance student, go for it but if your child needs real help, this is a place you want to avoid. read more

I am a college student, I was in need of a physics II tutor. I gave them a call and spoke to Vicky the owner. She went above and beyond to help me succeed in my course. I had Rob as my tutor who was AMAZING!! ( if amazing does justice how much of a great tutor he is). I had struggled so much during in physics I. He was able to break down and simplify the concepts for me that I had not completely at first. As a result I had a strong foundation in physics I which I was able to carry over into physics II. I received a B in the course. The following semester I was in need again of tutoring but this time for Organic chemistry. I called them once more, and I had Rob as my tutor. I received an A, I was only half a point away from a prefect score on my final. Once aging I came back the next semester for Calculus tutoring, to help prepare me for the final. I did well on the final with an A-. I am so grateful to have had Rob as my tutor, he has helped me succeed in my coursework. As well, the great staff Vicky and Armando. read more

My 8th grade daughter had been having a difficult time with her 8th grade Adv Algebra class. Her grades had steadily declined and by the time we decided to take her to tutoring it was almost too late. Her grade was a D. Although she'd received additional help from her Math teacher it wasn't helping and she was consistently flunking her math tests and quizzes. From the get go I was impressed with Vicky and Armando's (owners) professionalism. They not only met with me to address my concerns, but more importantly met with my daughter to get a feel for how she learned best and to get a feel for what type of student she is. Only then did they match her up with Bob, her tutor, who accomplished what her Math teacher couldn't. The results say it all - a B+ on her Math final. I really feel that my daughter had a team of caring people on her side helping her develop the study skills she needed to master her Algebra. I can't say enough about how wonderful Bob is. I feel like ever sense the day that we walked into the office a little over three years ago we have have been excepted into the Success Family. The tutors at Success are amazing teachers and really do what ever it takes to help our children understand anything they are struggling with. Polly has helped my two older boys build their confidence in Math, reading and writing. I am over the moon excited that our four year old Kevin (who grew up coming to Success tutoring with his brothers) is now working with Polly on learning his letters and beginning phonics. I can't wait to see his progress over the next year with learning his letters and the transition into reading and writing. Polly makes it fun for the kids so they enjoy learning and going to tutoring. We where very happy to start Matthew tutoring with Bob this year in math. Any time he walks in the door confused about something they are studying at school Bob does a great job of teaching it to Matthew in a way that he understands the material.
