It was also great working with a true family business. You could tell they genuinely cared about the quality of their work and took pride in the finished product. That personal touch made the entire experience even better. The quality of their work and attention to detail really stand out. This was a significant project with a lot of custom work, and they delivered exactly what we were looking for. The finished space looks fantastic and completely transformed our outdoor area. If you're looking for a concrete contractor who is reliable, communicates well, and takes pride in delivering high-quality work, I would absolutely recommend Daniel and the Aguis Concrete team.

I can honestly say this was the best experience I've ever had with a home improvement contractor. From start to finish, Mike Stratton and his team were outstanding. Mike is friendly, responsive, knowledgeable, and clearly takes pride in his work. He was flexible throughout the project as I made a few design changes along the way, and he was always willing to discuss options and offer thoughtful recommendations. What really impressed me was that many of Mike's best ideas didn't increase the cost of the project. He suggested installing a sleeve under the new driveway so I could easily run irrigation or electrical lines to the other side in the future, something I hadn't even thought about before he mentioned it and will almost certainly make use of. He also recommended embedding a drainage pipe beneath one area of the concrete so that, if drainage ever became an issue, it would already be in place and could easily be tied into. He also recommended removing the old porch step to create a seamless, modern transition to the front entry. As we discussed different layout ideas, including curves versus straight runs, he made it clear that the cost would be the same regardless of which design I chose, allowing me to focus on what looked best rather than what cost more. The workmanship was exceptional. The crew was professional, friendly, and obviously very experienced. You could tell these are craftsmen who have been doing this for a long time. They worked efficiently, never seemed rushed, and paid attention to the details. Mike stopped by every day, often multiple times, to check on progress, answer questions, and make sure everything met his standards. The project stayed on schedule from beginning to end, with each phase flowing smoothly into the next. They also went above and beyond at the finish by repairing stucco that had been disturbed during construction, rehanging my gate, and even patching some older stucco adjacent to the project that wasn't really part of the job. The finished driveway and walkways look fantastic and have completely transformed the curb appeal of our home. Just as importantly, the work looks incredibly solid. Even the walkways were built with the same attention to durability as the driveway. Nothing about the project felt like corners were being cut. The price was also very fair. In fact, another contractor I'm working with on a separate project, someone who frequently works alongside concrete companies, told me that the price I paid was very reasonable for the scope of work being performed. I recommend Mendenhall Concrete without hesitation. When I'm ready to tackle the backyard, they'll be my first call.

I hired this concrete company for two separate projects, including backyard pavement work…read more Unfortunately, both experiences were stressful and uncertain. The main issue was that we would agree on a scope of work and price, but after the job started, he would later complain about the price or try to change the terms. On one project, he initially offered a discount if I paid cash, but about a week later said he could no longer honor that arrangement. I agreed to pay the full amount because he is also my neighbor across the street and I wanted to keep things friendly. I also asked him to repair damaged stucco under my patio doors, and he agreed to include that work. While I was traveling, he sent me a bill for the full amount, and I paid assuming the agreed work had been completed. When I returned, I found that the stucco repair had not been done. I asked him again to fix it. He sent a long message complaining about the price and scope of the work, apologized, and said he would fix it -- but he never did. After dealing with repeated complaints, uncertainty around agreed pricing, and unfinished promised work, I gave up. I would not hire him again. In my opinion, there was too much inconsistency and stress for work that should have been handled clearly and professionally.

When he came to bid…read moreon my cracked 30 year old driveway, he recommended rebar every foot and a half put together in a grid, and then a thicker pour, especially since we wanted exposed aggregate. Because we had drainage problems, he was very careful to check the grading as well as pre-plan where we want the water to drain. He worked with my landscaper to plan the drains, the slopes, and where to put the curbs. When it was time to start, his crew was on time and efficient. He got the demolition done in one day, and then we had the utilities mark the lines the next day after the chunks were gone. The drains were put in next and then the grading and tamping down, followed by forms and finally rebar. The day of the pour was exciting and Manny's crew got here early. We lost count of the number of men working, but all was well coordinated with the cement trucks (4) and the workers doing the pour and spreading. Finishing is extremely important and I'm happy that the concrete was sloped correctly. They even made smooth lips around the planters so that water drained away from the dirt [bordering garage], and instead followed the planned path to the large drain at the far end that was then tunneled underneath the fence to the back drainage system. The aggregate turned out beautiful and they put in many more scores than the previous driveway had. As you can see, they put a nice pattern to the scores so that it wasn't just boring squares. Cleanup was also perfect, as well as timeliness. Whatever date Manny gave me was the date they kept. My neighbor saw his work and decided to work with him too, and I did get referred to him by another neighbor.

SK CONCRETE EARNS OUR 5 STARS!…read more With El Niño on the horizon, we knew it was time to tackle a serious drainage problem. Palm tree roots had taken over the underground pipes along one side of our property, causing flooding and pooling every time it rained. Not exactly the water feature we had in mind! The solution was no small undertaking. It required cutting through concrete along the entire side of our property, locating and bypassing the compromised pipes, installing new drainage pipes and drains, connecting everything to the curb, and finally, pouring and finishing new concrete to seamlessly match our existing hardscape. SK Concrete handled it masterfully! Their crew arrived on time, was courteous and professional, communicated clearly throughout the project, and worked diligently to ensure every detail was done right. The finished concrete work is exceptional, blending beautifully with what was already there. SK Concrete came highly recommended by our son, and now we understand why! We're happy to pass that recommendation along to anyone looking for a skilled, reliable, and trustworthy concrete contractor who takes pride in their work. Thank you, SK Concrete! You guys ROCK!

Despite being twice the price of other quotes to strip and re-seal my pavers, I agreed to sign with…read morethese guys on a Thursday, because Isaac said they would work over the July 4th weekend, to be done before a bunch of other contractors started work the following week. I was skeptical, but he'd only agree if I signed right then and there. On Friday, they rolled in at 2pm, worked for maybe 2 hours, asked for 80% of the job money, and went home. When I asked about the lack of progress, they said not worry -- they'd be back tomorrow and be done by Monday. The next day, they never showed up. Nor the day after that. Multiple phone calls and emails to the office went unreturned. On Monday morning, they first tried to claim they never said they would work the weekend. Then they admitted they had, but their truck broke down. If so, why did nobody call me, I asked? They shrugged. They then pointed to other contractors now working in the front yard, and said they couldn't work. I pointed out that there was nothing stopping them from working in the back yard. They stared blankly, then turned around and went home. At this point, I started to feel these guys weren't being completely honest. This feeling would only grow with time. For the next full week, I had to beg each day for them to tell when they were showing up, and what work would they were planning to do, so I could coordinate with the other contractors to be out of their way. Each day, they refused to explain, found another surprise reason they couldn't work, and left without saying anything. And this was not just my opinion: all three other contractor companies working at the same time, at various points, all called to tell me some variation of "your paver guys seem completely clueless." Eventually the work got done, and ended up being decent quality. That is the only reason I'm not leaving one star. But otherwise, this was the most poorly managed, uncoordinated, and questionably honest home contractor I have ever worked with.

Dean and Robert didn't just do great work. They earned my trust…read more My wife designed the layout and my engineer contributed specifications. What impressed me is that Dean and Robert took both and made them better, using their real knowledge of how concrete works. The control joints are placed right, they put in real drainage with actual drains and grading built throughout, and it looks clean and classy without being overdone. Flatwork around the entire house, driveway, front yard, backyard, both sides, fencing, gates. Did they get everything perfect on the first pass? Almost. What separates them is that when something was off, they owned it completely. No excuses, no pushback, just fixed. They paid attention to details that other contractors I quoted either missed entirely or only caught after I nudged them. Dean caught everything without me saying a word. Every day at the end of their shift they cleaned up and secured the site, even when it wasn't convenient. Robert ran a tight field operation and cared about every detail like his reputation depended on it. I have a young kid at home and that told me everything about who these guys are. I had my own engineer come out and review the work on-site. He looked around and said, unprompted, "You've got a great crew here." Engineers don't hand out compliments. That meant something. These guys come from commercial construction and brought that level of expertise to a residential job without going overkill. I actually spotted their truck at another client's property. Here's my honest take: if my mom needed this much work done and I couldn't be there to check in, I would still trust Dean to make sure she was taken care of. That's the highest thing I can say.

I wish I could give a better review, since I really like Oswaldo - nice guy, easy to talk to…read more Unfortunately, the quality of work they did for us was not that great. We hired Minez Concrete to pour a brand new, 200ft long driveway with curbs - one of the final stages of a lengthy and painful custom home build process. I paid extra for a sand finish. Not too happy with the way it turned out . The slab is uneven and lumpy in a few areas, with some brush marks visible, and already cracked in a couple of spots. They also failed to properly mask our garage door before the pour and ruined the bottom two panels with concrete splatter, which had to be replaced (they did cover some of the replacement cost). After the slab fully cured, I asked Oswaldo to come back and pressure wash the driveway a few times, but he never showed up to finish the job properly, which was disappointing. Their pricing is reasonable, but three stars is about right, considering the quality.
