The pumps say to pay inside. Must be a safety decision I think. So I grab my purse and climb out of a tall rented truck. Walk to the door--and find a printed note taped to the door that says to pay at the pump. No way to buy gas. Thanks for wasting my time, Chevron 8695 Prunedale. What I don't know is whether this is a regular nightly practice or if it's an "unusual occurrence." I'm posting the pics. Doesn't look like a hurried "we've had an emergency" kind of note that might indicate a one-time closure. Stop at your own risk.

avoid at all costs. if you've driven down to Monterey or Carmel from the north and feel like you…read moreneed to fill up before heading back, this is tempting but there are normal gas stations a few miles up 101 in Gilroy. or fill up before leaving Carmel /Monterey they only take cash or debit, no credit. hmmm, okay whatever but after inserting your card you are asked to confirm an ADDITIONAL "fee" of $.35. I'm not even sure this is legal based on the 1985 settlement suit in CA, i.e., "In any case, merchants are not allowed to mislead customers, such as by falsely advertising a lower price than they actually charge or hiding any differences between credit card, debit card, and cash prices. If a merchant fails to clearly and prominently disclose before you pay or seek to pay for an item what it will charge for the item, including any additional fees, that may violate California laws prohibiting deceptive or false advertising. Be sure to check the cash register display and your receipt to make sure that the price you're being charged matches the advertised or posted price of an item (plus tax, if applicable)." unfortunately, people don't tend to read Yelp reviews before deciding which gas station to patronize, but I do hope some people see this and avoid stopping here and succumbing to these unconscionable business practices

I bought a Miguel's breakfast burrito from the cooler. When I got home to heat it up, it was so moldy, the smell slapped me in the face. It looked like it contracted blue, dime size chicken pox. See photos. Besides that, the place was open but looked deserted. The man behind the counter (the owner?) seemed miserable and was not friendly in the slightest. Avoid this place unless you're afraid of running out of gas trying to go elsewhere.

Chevron guy was super nice about helping me with this, and at such a reasonable price it wasn't even worth waiting for AAA (which I have). Today I saw they added Food! I got the lamb + beef wrap & loaded fries. The fries themselves has a light seasoning on the outside which made them so delicious. Salt? Garlic? What is this cream? Feta cheese?! YES please. My lunch companion said "I don't like this kind of cheese" then proceeded to scarf most of the fries. Id sat that's a good sign. The wraps were made to order, and had a clean taste with nice crispy veggies. nom nom nom. Another random tip, but for the Chevron side: Their air compressor is THE best in the area. Always works, and fills super fast! Important for those things you roll your life around on. And don't forget to enter your Safeway # before you pump that gas! :)

I live off this exit and must dodge idiots trying to get off the freeway to an available pump. I've seen multiple accidents caused by people waiting in a pump line extending into the 101 on/off ramp. Save yourself time and safety; go one exit north to the San Miguel Valero or South to the Arco off Boronda ( PS: gas is cheaper at the Boronda Arco). I hope this review hurts this gas station as they do not care about the locals, only their bottom line!
