Rotten Robbie has been here for a long time. Back in the late 90s I used come down to Gilroy, and we stopped here because we knew the gas prices were low. Lots of space, friendly service. One would think that a gas station making $$$ millions from gouging the public on a price-inelastic product would maintain their pumps and credit card terminals. One would be wrong. This station routinely has several credit card terminals offline. And no sign on it. So you park, pop the gas cap, insert the pump, and swipe your card before finding out that it's STILL broke. And a line at the cashier from all the other pumps that are not taking credit cards either. If you don't mind spending 20 minutes for a 5 minute task, by all means this station will waste your extra time. read more

Prices are always competitive. Love the quick and nice service no matter who is working. The best part is they take credit cards, unlike ARCO next door. And they are open late so no worries when you are on the road late at night. Since its so close to the freeway its the best location as well. I'm a very happy and now a loyal customer. read more

Prices are competitive with other retailers in the Gilroy area and usually a bit lower, as one needs to drive a block from the freeway. Dealer offers unleaded gasoline octane ratings 87, 89 and 91, Diesel #2 and kerosene K-1. One can pay at the pump with a credit card or debit card, or pay the attendant with cash or prepaid fuel card at the kiosk. The pump islands are all one-way, and one needs to enter the station from Murray Avenue. Return to Leavesley Road is a bit tricky, because the station exit is right at the corner and it is frequently blocked by traffic waiting for the signal to change, or difficult due to heavy eastbound traffic, so one needs to be assertive when returning to the street. Rotten Robbie #31 gets its fuels from the same pipeline terminal in San Jose that serves Chevron, Shell, Union 76, Arco, etc., so despite its unusual name, there is nothing unusual about the quality of products it sells. read more

I filled up my Diesel F450 on Thursday evening on pump 3 and drove 10 miles when my warning light came on indicating water in fuel. We were on our way to Montana with horses in tow and it was dark out. This has caused nothing but problems for me on this trip.We kept trying to release the extra water from the holding tank under the truck but we are now stranded in Spokane waiting for the Ford dealer to open on Monday!! When I get back I will be trying to see how I can get my truck repair bills covered. read more

it is unbelievable the kind of customer service they have especially the guy joaquin who selects who can and cant use the restroom. It is ridiculous when you pump gas and feel like you need to empty your stomach because you you had a large meal and you have a long drive ahead and there is no other restroom for miles. I hope the next time one of the employees gets diarrhea and hope they shit themselves that will teach you about having a bathroom emergency. I will not be pumping gas there again read more

If you need to use the restroom at night, DO NOT STOP HERE. I have never felt so humiliated like sunday night. We wanted to get gas and use the restroom so we stopped at the Rotten Robbie in the City of Gilroy, Ca and this guy JOAQUIN told me so much shit giving me all kind of excuses so that I couldn't use the restroom, he said that all this homeless people wanted-to use the restroom and that how did he know I was going to get gas since all my musicians went straight to to the 711 (which is next door, to get something to eat since we are so hungry) and I said but I'm going to get $45 worth of gas and I have to go now. He said everyone says the the same thing and he wouldn't stop talking and I tried to explain to him that we were loyal costumers but he wouldn't listen. The funny part is that we have been getting gas here every time we come up north at least once or twice a month for last 10 years or maybe even more. I hope this message gets to him or the manager so that they know that we are honest people and we don't deserve to be treated like this. We deserve RESPECT. The only reason we stop there is because it's convenient for us since it's right of the 101 freeway but we are going to have to find a new place to get gas read more

A reliable spot for cheap gas on the way to SoCal (or back from SoCal). It's also on the same street as the outlet mall, so you can shop and gas up or gas up and then shop. I think they have a convenience store too, but I never go in. read more

Best prices in the area... We always drive an exit up just to fill up at this gas station instead of any of the ones by our house. The air for your tires is free too and the gas pumps are much quicker than any of the other gas stations around. read more

The price is only a tad few more cents more for gas then the competitor across the street. However I never have problem finding a pump even though it's a smaller station, the one across the street is pure chaos. Also this station doesn't charge a fee for using your card as opposed to the station across the street. I find I get decent gas quality and better service here. The ONLY station I use in town! read more
