This recreational center has grown immensely in the last 10years since I first moved down to south…read morecounty. They have a outdoor track, and now added a baseball field & soccer fields. This recreation center has been the only place where kids could come and have a playground or any sort of organized activities. They have the only remaining Tiny Tot program for 3/4 kids since Apollo Beach discontinued it some years ago. The playground has been expanded and combined to a single mulched area now fenced to keep out the stray dogs of the past and the modern new indoor gym for basketball leagues also. Many programs offered range from preschool to senior level. They offer basketball leagues for seniors, teens, youth, and yoga available as well as weight room and after school camps.

Both the small and large dog areas were completely empty, which made it really peaceful and easy to take everything in. A few people were walking their dogs along the trails that loop around the park, but inside the fenced areas it was quiet and relaxed. One thing I really appreciated was that there's free water available for both humans and fur buddies, which is a thoughtful touch especially in Florida heat. The park itself was impressively clean and well maintained. I didn't see any dog poop at all, and there were plenty of waste bags available throughout the area. There's also a sign noting that cleanup happens every Wednesday, which honestly explains why everything looked so tidy and cared for. Between the clean grounds, open space, and peaceful atmosphere, it felt like one of those parks that's quietly doing things right without a lot of fuss. Definitely a spot I'd be happy to come back to.

Beautiful park with great trails and tons to do! We had a…read morewonderful day at Lake Parker Park in Lakeland. It's a lovely spot with so many amenities for anyone who enjoys the outdoors. We came mainly for hiking in the early afternoon; even though it was a hot, breezy day, the trails were comfortable-b I sy enough to feel lively but never crowded. We walked all three trails (green, red, and blue), and each one was well-marked, peaceful, and shaded, with beautiful views of the lake. There are plenty of spots along the way to rest, stretch, or get in a little extra exercise. The grounds throughout the park are very well maintained, and the scenery is gorgeous. Beyond the trails, there is a huge variety of amenities: boat docking, tennis, basketball, and volleyball courts, a soccer field, shaded picnic areas, pavilions for private events, and lots of parking. Overall, Lake Parker Park is a clean, well-kept, and truly enjoyable place with something for everyone. We are looking forward to coming back.

Newly completed gym by Hillsborough County Recreation department in Brandon. It was name after a…read morelong term residence here that make the impact to the community. This new facility certainly bring life to area. Including the recreation center, it has brings class like Zumba class and line dancing. Other sporting time including open court basketball, badminton, pickle ball. Please check their website for activities. The recreation center use for sport is free. It is paid and funded by county tax. This is a $2.3 millions facility include the large gymnasium, recreation room include multipurpose room, kitchen, art and craft room, exercise room, computer lab and game room. It is well organized facilities that have many interests. I would said go check them out since this is your tax money for the benefit of the people.

When it comes to basketball courts I pretty much have seen them all, I've seen the old oval…read morebackboard with the double rim, I've seen the half court hoop and the other end is a tetherball set. I once played on a rubber court which was so weird but the look of the court was cool. Now Gary Nix Pavilion is a nice addition to South Tampa it's connected to a stretch of land that has a lake and bridge where you can do some fishing and plenty of grass to let your dog run free. The court is very up to date the rims are NBA regulation height the paint on the court is perfect as well. Now there's a couple things that can be improved the court is very uneven when it rains you can see the large puddles of water which let's guy aware of that, they do not have any room for bleachers so you have a bunch of people who isn't playing standing right around the court. My biggest concern was there isn't any garbage cans the kids trash the joint daily i don't know who comes and cleans it up but there is no place to put any trash. So for that i can't give this place five's but i love it and im here twice a week. So if any Yelpers want a quick finger roll tutorial i got you!!! Oh yeah #LetsgoHeat
