I date to say this trail is more than a mile long but I could be wrong. It's paved the whole way and has a pond running most of the length of it. There are plenty of places to sit if you get tired or watch the birds. Now is it peaceful? Hmm...as many others have mentioned, it's close to a very busy road and all the roads that intersect are also very busy. Even with headphones on, it's still pretty loud. You also have to cross one of the busy streets near the parking area and you really have to be cautious because there is no stoplight and only one of the three directions has a stop sign so two of the streets don't have to yield and may not see you crossing. The parking is also odd. There is a small paved area that stops at the dead-end down by TD Bank and you can park on the shoulders and grass on both sides of the street leading to the dead end. If you don't like parking in the grass you should probably get here during non-peak times as the parking fills up quickly. Honestly, I'd rather walk off-trail in the grass like on a hiking trail as it's not as harsh on my feet but if you're just looking for a short trail to do some running or walk in the evening, then this might be the spot for you.

It is a wide open field with agility obstacles, hills, sitting area. I'm sure the grass could've been tended to more. I'm not sure how the water fountain worked, every one seemed to have known, but there are two large dog bowls owners periodically would fill up instead of letting the dogs drink out the fountain. There is dog poop bags provided at posts throughout the park, but the only trash cans I spotted were at the entrance (so it's a long walk with poop in hand). Be careful where you walk. I saw owners picking up poop, but there is still enough poop to warn you of your step while there. The was a water fountain at the entrance as well, too. There is a covered concrete portion with seats. It was posted that on Wednesday's the park is closed sunrise to noon for maintenance. I brought my own ball thinking there wouldn't be any as this was my first time at this dog park, but there were plenty. An owner told me someone brought a large bin of new tennis balls for Christmas/New Year's. It's a very large park, so it's easy to lose sight of your dog At first, a pit was being aggressively dominant with Baloo and no one even paid attention to their dog but after a while I step in and corrected the dog for its behavior. Later saw that it was a woman too busy in conversation. Overall cool dog park, love that it's close by. Will probably go back for a last minute dog park day.

That's basically what you experience here! "Bayshore Boulevard is a waterfront road on Hillsborough Bay in South Tampa, Florida. Located south of downtown Tampa, its sidewalk, at 4.5 miles long, is 10 feet wide and is the longest continuous sidewalk in the United States." The sidewalk is amazing for working out because it seems like it never stops. I love exercising here. This place can get pretty crowded if you go later in the afternoon, the earlier the better. You can also find bikes & scooters along the trail to rent. The bike cost $1+.49 /minute. They pre authorize your card for $17 but only charge you for the time you use. I always made sure that I would get there early as it can get very crowded with other patrons with their pups and the fitness lovers. The trail is a good width but adding runners, walkers, bikers, roller-bladders and those with dogs and some fisherman... you do often have to adjust to try to make everyone comfortable. My little Bears are classic small dogs that suddenly think they are Dobermans while on a leash when another dog is close so I try to be as respectful of others as much as possible, going early helps and you can beat the heat. PLUS.... the views. Oh my goodness, the views are just so beautiful and a wonderful way to welcome to day over Tampa Bay. On a good day, it is not crazy to see dolphins and I have often had them swim along the trail with you while you walk. Can't hate that. The trail does have areas where people can stop and work out, sit and there are areas that have doggie water fountains.
