Most of the buildings are still closed/roped off due to damages. It's December; it's winter; so all the water around here is churned up & not clear, looks dirty. It is always like this after the Hurricane season. Always looks dirty, till one day, poof! Like magic; it's clear again. Hopefully the Pavilion & park will be rebuilt & much improved by spring. With the large space, I really wish they would have added a concession stand with food and drinks. If there isn't a wedding here, the venue pretty much goes unused with the exception of the bathrooms and the beach area. The Sunset Beach Pavilion is an affordable and lovely outdoor wedding venue available for rent for parties up to 80. It costs only $200.00 for residents and $300 for non-residents for a 6 hour reception rental, during the operational hours from 8am to sunset. Sunset Beach Pavilion's wedding reception related amenities include a service bar, rest rooms, wooden bridge entryways to the beach, beach & surf background at the rocks, electricity and picnic benches with bench seats. To make the venue more upscale, wedding planners can add their own decorations, such as white table-cloths, sparkling lights, and beach themed centerpieces.

This is a pretty nice park. It is all fenced which is nice. One section has exercise equipment…read morefor the adults (although kids try some of them also). My only issue with this side is there is one piece of equipment that I cannot figure out how to use. Wish there was some signs with instructions or illustrations for each piece of equipment. Other part of park is for the kids. One section seems like a toddler area with baby swings nearby. There are also 2 regular swings in this section. In the middle are lots of climbing type pieces with a section with a slide. There are at least 3 spin type pieces and one "elevator" type piece you have to climb up to the step area. This is not obvious so my great niece had to watch someone else do it before she figured out how it worked. After that it was her favorite thing to do. The slide only has a bar type climb access which is not great if you have a kid that prefers steps or is smaller. There is a slide in the toddler area that is easier to get up to but a smaller length slide. Overall we enjoyed coming to this playground. It has wood chips on the ground and is fairly shaded. There is parking for about 6 vehicles which seemed adequate when we were there. It is at the end of a neighborhood and runs along Gulfport Blvd. I recommend trying this location especially if you are near this area.
