There is 2 hr and 4 hr free parkings at the park as well as a few Royal Poinciana trees. There is also a music venue there which I'm pretty sure that's where the park got it's name from. You will find a splash park for the little ones that is next to a nice shaded playground. Next to that is another shaded area with outdoor exercise equipment. Go further and you will find a shuffleboard court, pong table, cornhole, tennis courts and a basketball court. All this is next to the police station and the fire station. They also have a small bark park. The park isn't big but it has a lot to offer and they continue to add improvements.

Seriously - Lassing Park, Maximo, Vinoy Park, Shore Acres, Abercrombie Park, Albert Whitted Park, the Pier, Straub, North Shore, Sawgrass Lake, Boyd Hill, Weedon Island - so many great waterfront parks here. I love Northeast Exchange Club Coffee Pot Park, I don't really understand why it has such a long name, but who cares. The playground centers around a pirate ship and is clean, well-designed and well-maintained. Swings, slides, seesaw, things to climb on, all that good stuff. It has been a great to have options like this during the pandemic to take kids to play here. Also crucially for any Florida playground - this place has excellent natural shade from trees.

We really enjoyed this one for a few reasons: 1) The kids area is fenced in, which made it easy to keep our guy contained. 2) All of the equipment was clean and seemingly pretty new. 3) Our little guy was entertained, as were kids that were a few years older. 4) Artificial grass prevents a bunch of bugs and dirt. 5) No trees hanging over the playground area, which meant no acorns on the ground, which babies LOVE to try and eat. 6) Beautiful scenery nearby via the lake. Whenever we're in the area in the future, we definitely will come back when we're looking to get out some kid energy, which is always.

The Redneck Riviera... The name really does say it all!…read more Every summer this patch of sand near the Gandy Bridge is packed with Florida's finest folks sun bathing, fishing, flying kites and drinking from this spot. There aren't any restrooms or a picnic area, but no one seems to mind. Everyone brings their own coolers and grills and spends the day here. Since there is no parking lot you just drive your car onto the beach and set up tent in front of your car. The Redneck Riviera has gotten so popular that it has attracted food vendors and craft huts with tacky embroidered rugs and dolphin art. I haven't ever sun bathed at the Redneck Riviera, but I have gone running here in the evenings. The beach is very rocky in certain spots so this is not the best spot to run at.
