There was of course a love Christmas tree, live music, kids choirs, a bubble machine, oodles of food trucks, lots of vendors with all manner of services, gifts, foods, you name it. We loved the fresh sugarcane juice stand, you picked whatever juice you wanted to pair it with, I chose mango and it was fantastic! Fresh sugarcane juice is like nothing else and it's super healthy. So many people, kids, dogs, so many dogs dressed up. It was fantastic and family friendly. Then we strolled over to Donovans for apps and vino. What a fantastic night!

It's grounds are landscaped and well-maintained. Small cherub statues are sprinkled throughout the park with a larger grand statue in the heart of the commons. They really add a little ambiance to the site. This park isn't really for kids, but I did see a family stop in and look around. The kids and adults seemed to like the statues and the open space. If you find your self in the Winthrop area, check this spot out.

I am all for 2nd amendment rights, but for kids to be walking around a park with BB guns that look like a Smith Wesson ??!! The park is ran by the Hillsborough County and is open from dawn to dusk. Only service animals are allowed but I've seen people come here with their dogs. There are water fountains and plenty of metal trash bins. I'm sure there are bathrooms but I never stay long enough to find one. There is a covered area with picnic tables but the playground and the playground has swings and slides. It's designed for children age 5-12. The playground is in an ideal area under large moss covered trees. I do recommend this park and will upload more pictures on our next visit!

Both the small and large dog areas were completely empty, which made it really peaceful and easy to take everything in. A few people were walking their dogs along the trails that loop around the park, but inside the fenced areas it was quiet and relaxed. One thing I really appreciated was that there's free water available for both humans and fur buddies, which is a thoughtful touch especially in Florida heat. The park itself was impressively clean and well maintained. I didn't see any dog poop at all, and there were plenty of waste bags available throughout the area. There's also a sign noting that cleanup happens every Wednesday, which honestly explains why everything looked so tidy and cared for. Between the clean grounds, open space, and peaceful atmosphere, it felt like one of those parks that's quietly doing things right without a lot of fuss. Definitely a spot I'd be happy to come back to.

The park is off Tamiami Trail / U.S. 41. Williams Park is nearby as well as the Manatee Viewing Center. Nice park across from the Mosaic Plant on the inland side of 41. The park is open with lush (highish) grass a couole picnic tables and some rocky mangrovey shoreline with a couple open spots on the Alafia River. Very pretty. Good place to play fetch. The Apollo Beach Dogpark, E.G. Simmon ($2) and Apollo Beach Preserve (when it reopens) are also good area spots. There is an eatery on the water on the other side of the river off Ohio Ave (take a left going south on 41 on Pennsylvania Ave., left on Massachusetts and lef on Ohio. It's called the River's edge and is very casual for wings, oysters, fried clams, grouper sammiches, peel n eat shrimp and deviled crab. BLTs too.
