The recreation area & housing projects formerly known as Central Park Village are well known in and a major part of Tampa's archives now & then. Take a look at the "Lifetiles" along the park's wall of Black History and near the grassy field that was once a world renowned American skatepark developed in the 70's called The Bro Bowl. The park is about 11 acres yet spacious enough for dogwalkers, skaters, & fitness officianados. Some of the happenings that have taken place include: The Tampa Bay Veg Fest, BBQ Love Fest, The Fight Wright Foundation's Annual 5k Walk/Festival by (Dr. Vondalyn Wright) a survivor & true pioneer of the former Central Park Village. An annual Easter Eggstravaganza sponsored by 1828 Entertainment (Marlon Wright). A host of vendor & market events have taken place at the park as well. *There are local businesses near on the east end (off from the park). ***One interesting note in particular is that the cross street from Central Avenue is titled "Ray Charles Boulevard". The park also has a water sprout or splash pad for kids as well as a picnic area. Come take a look at the giant musician statues, murals & more. Parking is free and just in front of the shaded table area.
