I love this "trail" although it's more of a long sidewalk. You see all kinds of sports going on here. Whether it's walking, running, rollerblading or cycling it's a nice place to go and see the view. Just make sure you be careful in the hot sun!

Bayshore linear park is an iconic stretch of Tampa Bay. I feel privileged to currently live in walking proximity to a place this beautiful. Bayshore is a popular park for those that like to run, walk, bike ride, or rollerblade. Although the concrete slabs are pretty wide, the trail could be wider to accommodate more people, as it sometimes gets crowded and would allow for ease of passing, etc. There is grass alongside the "trail" area and some nice landscaping including bushes and trees which are meticulously maintained. There are some more recent additions such as workout stations such as pull up bars and others which can enhance one's workout. There is a fairly new water fountain along the trail located kind of near the Davis Island bridge. I am not usually one to use public water fountains but on this particular day I was in need of water so I did. The water tastes clean and filtered which was a plus! The park offers beautiful views of the bay, and also of the downtown Tampa skyline and the power plant in the distance. All in all, Bayshore is a nice place to workout and enjoy the Florida air and sun.

This is why we live in Tampa. It's February sunny and hot as hell!! After all the rain yesterday this is appreciated.

The longest unbroken sidewalk in the world. It runs alongside Tampa Bay. It is beautifully landscaped and offers tremendous views. Spot dolphins, stingrays, birds, an occasional shark and happy canines. People flock here to get exercise.

A great spot to take a peaceful stroll. It's relatively quiet (except for the cars of course), well kept, very clean, and feels very safe - even when walking at night. Along the trail, there are fitness spots with various equipment like pull up bars etc. And every so often, there will be a nice alcove with a bench that faces the water. Great if you like long walks with little breaks between, or if you'd just like to relax with a lovely view of the water. If you appreciate high end homes and architecture, this is a great spot to view and gather inspiration. Beautiful homes of various sizes and design styles line Bayshore Boulevard. If you aren't fond of side street parking, there is a small parking lot at the north end of Bayshore, near the pirate ship, across the water from Tampa General.

Best area in Tampa. If you want to show off the beautiful side of Tampa, this is the place to go. Beautiful views of the bay on one side. Beautiful houses on the other side. This is the place to get your exercise on. Walk, jog, run, ride your bike, roller blade, do something. The sidewalk is narrow though. If people are walking or biking side by side, there is no space. There is a bike lane on the road, but I can't trust the cars. They fly. We usually park our car in the back Bank of Tampa, and take our bikes out and cross the street. There is a curve there so you have to be really careful crossing it. This is a 4.5 mile ride one way, so I am pretty proud of myself riding my bike round trip on what's suppose to be a lazy Sunday. There are benches to stop and stare at the bay, but no shade. When you ride your bike you will come to areas where you can cross the street, and the median area there is grass, and trees for shade. It will be a lifesaver. Make sure to bring water. There is only about one or two water fountains on the path. If you need a bathroom, too bad, so sad, you can probably ride your bike to Hyde park village, and find a bathroom there. This area is also where Gasparilla events happen in January. It's a blast of an event, and all must partake in it at least once or twice in their life. Don't forget your pirate costume and your beads. Drinks too. This part of town is definitely a nice piece of heaven.

I love bayshore! The walk down bayshore is just perfection. Florida is extremely hot so on days we can actually take advantage of good weather, being outside is just a must and what better way to start the day than with a drink ( none alcoholic unless that's your thing :), no judgement here) and a walk by the water. People love to run and bike down bayshore as well and if I lived closer I'd totally go running here; it would be the most energizing run and way to start the day. But if you don't, driving to Hyde park and then walking down to bayshore is a nice way to spend a nice morning or afternoon outside.

This little park is actually a 10 foot-wide sidewalk which starts on the north at Columbus Statue Park and ends at Gandy Boulevard to the south. That makes this 4.5 mile-long hunk o' concrete the world's longest continuous sidewalk. The park hugs the perimeter of Hillsborough Bay, and follows Bayshore Boulevard around South Tampa. Most of us know this area because of the awesome scenic views of the Bay, the spectacular homes along Bayshore Boulevard, and that big ol' honkin' pirate ship. Whatttttt ?!?!?!? Bayshore Park is a popular spot to see people walking, jogging, running, pushing strollers, riding bikes, inline skating, and dog walking, as they gaze over the sea wall and watch for signs of manatee and dolphins and pirates! Trail amenities include benches, a water fountain, bicycle parking, a city marina and fitness stations. The sunrises and sunsets are world-class, and just another reason why I'm glad that I live in Florida. In late January this section of Tampa is home to the legendary Gasparilla Pirate Invasion and Pirate Parades. Any good student of Tampa history will tell you that the name of Tampa's traditional Gasparilla Carnival comes from legendary pirate Jose Gaspar, "last of the Buccaneers," who terrorized the coastal waters of West Florida during the late 18th and early 19th century. Gaspar, given to calling himself "Gasparilla," served as a lieutenant in the Royal Spanish Navy for five years until 1783 when, upon seizing command of a Spanish sloop-of-war, he with his fellow mutineers set sail for the Florida straits. And so the young Spanish aristocrat-turned-pirate began an adventurous life as outlaw of the sea. The story of the swashbuckling Gasparilla was unearthed and his memory revived in 1904 when Tampa's social and civic leaders adopted the pirate as patron rogue of their city-wide celebration. The Gasparilla Children's Parade comes first with hundreds and hundreds of pint-sized Johnny Depp look-alike swashbucklers taking to Bayshore Boulevard and cheering on all of the floats, marching bands, and dance companies. Most everyone is in costume, and hoping to snag some pirate's booty (strands of beads) to take home and show Mom and Dad. The following weekend is the raucous and outrageous Gasparilla Pirates Invasion and Parade. This time the pirate ships sail up through Hillsborough Bay to the Convention Center where the pirates demand the keys to the City from the Mayor. From there the costumed pirates lead the parade floats, marching bands, dance teams, along the same route as they cheer for grog, beads, and wenches! No matter when you come to visit Bayshore Park you're guaranteed to have a great time. Enjoy the view, the warm weather, the sunsets, and let loose with a mighty "Arrrggghhh!"

I consider this the Bayshore Trail which falls in line with the upper Tampa Bay trail and pinellas trail names. This is the world's longest continuous sidewalk trail, clocking in at 4.5 miles long! The Great Wall of China does not count because it's a wall. Cities in Europe don't count because they are broken up by roads. This serves as a fine place to go biking, running, jogging, segwaying, with great views of the bay and million dollar homes. I go biking here routinely. There are little fitness stations which are nice but I only have used once or twice. They close the road down for cars and open it only for pedestrians for the Gasparilla pirate festival which is like Tampa's version of Mardi Gras. They also host a Gasparilla 5k and marathon run here. Cons: The sidewalk does not seem to be wide enough for both 2 people walking side by side and a biker going one way and another biker coming the opposite way. The near by river walk going along the river downtown on the other hand is far wider and can accommodate all foot and bike traffic very easily. If they could widen the sidewalk that would be great. There is plenty of grass available to allow for the sidewalk expansion. Also, there is no evening lighting at all. The river walk has lighting. The riverwalk also has covered areas unlike Bayshore.

Who knew the sidewalk along Bayshore Boulevard is actually a park! It has the distinction of being the longest continuous sidewalk in the world. Hard to believe. It is a joy to walk or ride a bike along the 4.5 mile route, especially when on one end you have the Convention Center, and at the other is Ballast Point, home to the Taste of Boston and Tampa's best deep fryer! The views of the bay on one side and the beautiful homes of the rich and famous on the other make traversing this park a truly Tampa experience. Bayshore Boulevard is also host to the Gasparilla parades every year, and the place turns into a fun madhouse! If you are looking for "things to do in Tampa", a brisk walk or bike ride along Bayshore Boulevard should be on your short list. It's as good as it gets!

1 of my favorite places in Tampa to run and bike. I wish there was more parking and a bathroom closeby but I love that there are so many water fountains.

Best part of Tampa bay! I love walking or renting a bicycle near by and going along the trail. Beautiful views of the bay, you can see fish, birds and the occasional dolphin! Great place for relaxation and outdoor exercise. There are kiosks were you can rent a bike if u need to and that's convenient and not too expensive. I prefer going earlier in the morning or close to sunset when it's not too hot!

The center is currently closed due to Covid but the bathrooms are open. From what I could tell, on our mad dash to the bathroom and distance viewing, the displays are informative and well done. I'd love to return when it is safe to and take a look. The park has three trails that are part of the spree. We hiked the Bobcat Trail since it includes the boardwalk. The trail travels for about a half mile through trees and over dusty shells. Then it connects to the boardwalk. This was by far the best part. We walked along the beautiful, tree lined water, getting up close and personal with a bunch of small black crabs. We scanned the water for manatees but were not lucky to find any. The trail ends back at the nature center. We climbed the back steps to the top level and caught a great view of the river and the distant city. After the hike we hit up the playground for a few minutes. This is always my kids' favorite part. We also stopped off at the butterfly garden which was pretty active on this day. The park was in great shape, the bathrooms were clean, there were lots of people around doing various park things. Canoeing, kayaking, hiking, nature hunting and playing on the playground are just some of the things available at your fingertips here. So glad we visited! Can't wait to return to check out the other trails.

There are plenty of shade trees, and there are a few areas to picnic as well as different playground areas if you feel one is too crowded for your little one. We went to the larger playground area with my grandson, and he loved it. There are swingsets for all ages and abilities, which is very nice for all. The pirate ship has a great musical area as most kids like to bang on things that they can control the sounds. There are plenty of open areas to play ball or just run from tree to tree like the squirrels. My only complaint is that the park could be a little better maintained for trash. There was random garbage that people should have thrown away, but they didn't, so it made the park look a little unkempt. Parking is plentiful but not in abundance in any one area, so be prepared to park and walk to the playground on a busy weekend or after school.

The park is pretty big with multiple areas where you can park, so make sure you look at a park map to get an idea of where you should park to be closest to where you want to go. The playground looked like a lot of fun, but our shelter was closer to the tennis courts, and the kids ended up just running up and down the hill, which was fine with me! The area looked well-maintained, and the shelters were in better shape than the picnic shelters in most of the South Tampa parks.
