When I parked, I saw signs that's letting people know that it's alligators and other wildlife that lives in the park. I love wildlife, but when it comes to gators able to walk around freely, it's a NO, for me. LOL! So, I sat in the car, until my husband completed his run. If in the area, I may stop by. There are picnic tables, a playground for kids and a dog park for your pets. :-) Enjoy!

This park has a playground and a splashpad for kids, a small skateboard/bike area for kids, a dog park pavillions for picnics, restrooms by the play area and dog park and a really nice long walking path around the huge pond. There is also a small stage near the big open field so it would be a good location for concerts. The park is on county land adjacent to a water treatment plant, which supplies the pond with reclaimed water. What a great use of space! I will bet most people wouldn't notice that but I work for another local government so I notice those things. Lots of people were out enjoying the nice weather. People with their kids in the kids area, people with their pets in the pet atea and people like me shopping for plants. They also had some food trucks out and staff/volunteers directing traffic and keeping things nice. Again, great venue for a festival in the heart of Carrollwood Village.

There is also a playground. Lovely birds. Some butterflies. Various ferns. Wetland, forest, grassy and parklike areas. Plenty of space to wander, explore, run around. I enjoyed my visit. Lettuce Lake is more big time, on the river, and you can see gators there, but this is a lovely escape and a nice place to relax. Walk your dog. Get a nature fix.

(From March, 2022)…read more Never crossed my mind that this would be considered a park as it's more of an art exhibit from the outskirts of it. It's small but has some statues, a water fountain, and artwork that will make you turn your head when you walk past it. As you walk past, you might as well take a turn into it and explore. You'll probably get through it in 10 minutes but it makes you appreciate how cool of a city Tampa is. For the most part it was clean but there's some gum on the ground. Watch your steps here!

The recreation area & housing projects formerly known as Central Park Village are well known in and a major part of Tampa's archives now & then. Take a look at the "Lifetiles" along the park's wall of Black History and near the grassy field that was once a world renowned American skatepark developed in the 70's called The Bro Bowl. The park is about 11 acres yet spacious enough for dogwalkers, skaters, & fitness officianados. Some of the happenings that have taken place include: The Tampa Bay Veg Fest, BBQ Love Fest, The Fight Wright Foundation's Annual 5k Walk/Festival by (Dr. Vondalyn Wright) a survivor & true pioneer of the former Central Park Village. An annual Easter Eggstravaganza sponsored by 1828 Entertainment (Marlon Wright). A host of vendor & market events have taken place at the park as well. *There are local businesses near on the east end (off from the park). ***One interesting note in particular is that the cross street from Central Avenue is titled "Ray Charles Boulevard". Named for his connection to the city within Tampa's Rhythm + Blues music scene and apparently the HeyDays of (R+B) in the early 1950-60's & 70's. *This area was once titled Central Park Village. The park also has a water sprout or splash pad for kids as well as a picnic area. Come take a look at the giant musician statues, murals & more. Parking is free and just in front of the shaded table area.

There are picnic tables also available along with restrooms. There is a paved path in the park where people can walk and enjoy the nature in park. There is a big parking lot too where it is easy to get parking spots. But there is a warning outside the park which tells everyone that park is only available for the residents.

Amberly Park is a private park for residents in the Tampa Palms area. If you are a resident of the condos listed on the board, you are allowed in the park. Your vehicle must also have a sticker with a number in order to be able to park in any spot. Unfortunately, it's a private park for kids& adults. Pet friendly too. There are walking trails, picnic tables, swings, lots of trees, a pond and watch out for a 7 ft gator that likes to come out of the water and bask in the sun. When the park gets too crowded, they will ask for ID and probably ask you if you are a resident of Tampa Palms.

There are also standard swings with a wood chip grounding below. It is my understanding that you can rent the field out for your personal purposes. The times I have been in the early morning hours I have only seen people utilizing the field to play American football on Saturday mornings. We like to take our daughter here in the early mornings because of the no nonsense/no dirt base of the playground area. As wet mornings happen often I do not prefer to go to playgrounds which get muddy and dirty. We will continue to visit!

There's also a tiny playground with very limited equipment, some swings, a basketball court that's in pretty rough shape, and not much else. There are dog poop bags so I assume the area is dog friendly.. The park backs onto some of the newer condo / apartment developments and a lil residential area behind the strip malls and strip clubs lining Dale Mabry and the fancier sports of Boy Scout / Columbus. The parks department is here a LOT mowing the football field. But the grass around the field tends to be pretty high and weedy. It's a nice greenspace. Grasdy dirt road parking. There is a Baptist Church next to the park and a canal behind the church. Some wildflower and lily pad viewing possible. You can walk to AC Hotel, Miller Ale House, Texas De Brazil, Del Friscos, Renees Cafe, and Kona Grill from here via a grassy cut through on the north side of the park past the church. I see meeting for a rezoning are scheduled in 2019 so something seems to be in store for the park.. We shall see.
