When I arrived everyone, without exception, was professional, respectful and most importantly compassionate. Mr. DeSilva Lima was extraordinary in his detail of assessment (I am a retired critical care nurse so I know the ropes). When I reviewed his summary of the visit it showed his attention to detail. He was extraordinary in his sensitivity and compassion. The person who drew my blood was delightful. While I was having my blood drawn my husband noticed an elderly lady having trouble entering data into the computerized blood draw station. An employee happened to be walking by and immediately stopped to assist her. Providence Central Point Clinic Or is a class act. This could not have been a better experience. The support staff appear to be better trained in their people skills, the facility is newer/cleaner, and the providers just seem to be less rushed and more pleasant. Our experience this morning was 5-stars across the board. The provider was a NP, not an MD, but for this visit (a UTI), it was adequate. He was attentive, friendly, and listened well -- as well as explaining things in a caring fashion. In comparison, I have been thoroughly unimpressed by Asante, having dealt with both their urgent and emergency care services. I will say that the people in the billing / financial departments at Asante are very pleasant and professional, but I'm afraid that is the only "A" I can award. Everything else was a solid C with even a few C- grades in places, bordering on a D.

Please take this review as a word of caution against signing up for this company's $40/month urgent…read morecare plan. The terms of this plan were poorly communicated and some rather important things were left out in the employee's description of it. I was informed when first signing up that I had to opt into 6 months of payments in order to sign up, which I agreed to. However, I was not clearly informed of the following information. First, they did not explain that this plan only covers 3 visits in a year. Therefore, if you visit more than 3 times in one year, your discounts are basically void, despite still paying them $40 a month. Secondly, I was not informed that it is also policy that if you visit more than twice in a year with this plan that you will be opted in for a SECOND 6 months, basically trapping you into a full year of paying for the monthly service, which again only grants you 3 visits in said year. Granted, these visits are at a discount, but you will still be paying out of pocket on top of your mandatory 12 months of $40/month. Out of the 2 visits I had this year, one was about $25, and the other was over $200. You still never know what the costs of different checkups/procedures are going to be, unless asking up front before your doctor even looks at you. Paying $40 for 12 months comes out to $480 total, which basically tells you that you will be paying that chunk of change for 3 doctors visits a year, a completely variable amount out of pocket on top for each visit, and a completely inescapable monthly payment. One last condition they have in this plan is that on top of all of this, even if you did try to opt out of paying the remaining of your years worth of $40 payments (which they communicated to me was completely possible), you would be charged for the full amount of what your 3 yearly visits would have cost before their discount. The bills for my 2 visits originally came out to just about $1,000, before the discount. Sure, I saved money from this plan, but I have still been roped into paying almost $700 (including the monthly payments + the additional cost of each visit) in a year for 2 visits that were not intensive procedures, nor were they emergencies. Also, while these terms were likely described in the paperwork I received for signing up, I feel like it's not too much to ask for these few highly important details to be communicated up front before someone signs up. It all feels like information is purposefully left out to convince a person in need to subscribe to this service, without knowing what they're fully getting into. I absolutely regret giving any money to this company. The health care workers that assisted me were nothing but helpful, but I have lost all respect to Valley Immediate Care as a whole and will be canceling my mandatory yearly membership at the end of the cycle.

At one point, I told the computer, "f--k you" as a test and to take a stand for human dignity with no response other than possibly a longer pause than the other long pauses. When I got to the appointment, I was told by a human that Valley Immediate Care does not offer flu shots. Now, I'm wondering if the long pause was the computer deciding the best way to get back at me.

They pulled me back into the room to see a provider around 12:55pm. At 2:11pm, and after sitting in a freezing cold room without anyone checking in for the last hour, when I asked for an ETA of being seen they told me there were "more complex cases" and it would be quite a bit longer. I left. Honestly, I'd drive up to the Providence urgent care. Not worth the gamble and time.
