He did not examine me at all and flat out told me there's nothing he could do for a severe sinus infection and that no one else in the valley would help me until I hit six week sick. He was annoyed with me for tearing up, shot down my questions, and when I told him I felt like I couldn't breathe with all my symptoms he said "You're fine. You're talking, so you're breathing" He wrote a couple prescriptions after I pressed him to change my antibiotics since the originals I was prescribed weren't working and told me my best bet was to swim in the ocean for a few days...I walked away wondering if I could trust anything he said with no exam and such a despising demeanor, I double checked if I could even take the prescriptions he wrote scripts for while pregnant with a pharmacist. It's easy and quick to get in. Maybe he's the reason why.

I'd gotten a tick bite on a hike, I've had many and not went to a doctor for them but I have a friend with Lymes disease plead with me to not risk the suffering she continues to endure so I went in after 2-1/2 weeks. I was immediately given tests by two EXCELLENT technicians, one of him were a name badge: Ramirez. Fortunately in the ambulance, I was given both IV sailine and an EKG, which was fine. The sailine IV restored me and it's a darn good thing! After the text finished with me, I was put in the giant almost empty waiting room of the ER and told it would be somewhere of between 6 and 24 hours before I could see a "service provider", which I think may be double speak for a medical doctor!!! Yes, you read that right. I was brought in by ambulance and I was told I needed to sit upright in a wheelchair for as much as 24 hours. Now some of you know me. What do YOU think I said to that????????? I politely said, "I am going home and going to sleep. Sleep heals me. What I am NOT going to do is sit up in a wheelchair or lie on the ER floor (which did not look sparkling clean but maybe it was just old) for as many as 24 hours hoping that s-o-m-e-d-a-y maybe I'll be seen by a medical doctor." The corporate management of Asante is, in my humble opinion, moneygrubbers who do not give a darn about patients. They have a demonstrated track record of that via the various lawsuits and out of court settlements they have had to make. I feel sorry for the doctors and nurses and other staff who have to work there. I am glad for all of the patients that have gotten good care because of the kindness, compassion, as skill of the people who work in Asante, including the good doctors as certainly all of the RNs and other staff who actually do their best to help patients. I wish we would get a different medical group here in the Rogue Valley. In the meantime, my husband and I are primarily working with Provident had receiving very good treatment.

The support staff appear to be better trained in their people skills, the facility is newer/cleaner, and the providers just seem to be less rushed and more pleasant. Our experience this morning was 5-stars across the board. The provider was a NP, not an MD, but for this visit (a UTI), it was adequate. He was attentive, friendly, and listened well -- as well as explaining things in a caring fashion. In comparison, I have been thoroughly unimpressed by Asante, having dealt with both their urgent and emergency care services. I will say that the people in the billing / financial departments at Asante are very pleasant and professional, but I'm afraid that is the only "A" I can award. Everything else was a solid C with even a few C- grades in places, bordering on a D.

On top of that, I rarely go to the doctor and the last one I had was great... But he did urgent care which meant my appt time really didn't mean a thing. Last time I waited 3 hours past my spot time to finally be seen! Argh... So back to VIC- They have online check in so u can limit the amount of time you will be sitting in their lobby waiting... It'll even send u a text at a predetermined time before your room will be ready...super convenient. The nurses and doctors are all friendly and professional, some more personality sterile than others, but the job completion is always there. They have an on site lab and X-ray so most issues can be taken care of without having to go elsewhere. I appreciate their 5 day guarantee too. If things haven't gotten better within 5 days of your initial visit, you can come back at no cost (this doesn't mean you won't have to pay for any new tests, just get to skip the office visit fee). All in all, they fit my needs. Open early and close late, open 7 days a week, no appt needed, and I can be seen the day of my phone call. Their convenience is why I haven't searched for another primary care physician.

Please take this review as a word of caution against signing up for this company's $40/month urgent…read morecare plan. The terms of this plan were poorly communicated and some rather important things were left out in the employee's description of it. I was informed when first signing up that I had to opt into 6 months of payments in order to sign up, which I agreed to. However, I was not clearly informed of the following information. First, they did not explain that this plan only covers 3 visits in a year. Therefore, if you visit more than 3 times in one year, your discounts are basically void, despite still paying them $40 a month. Secondly, I was not informed that it is also policy that if you visit more than twice in a year with this plan that you will be opted in for a SECOND 6 months, basically trapping you into a full year of paying for the monthly service, which again only grants you 3 visits in said year. Granted, these visits are at a discount, but you will still be paying out of pocket on top of your mandatory 12 months of $40/month. Out of the 2 visits I had this year, one was about $25, and the other was over $200. You still never know what the costs of different checkups/procedures are going to be, unless asking up front before your doctor even looks at you. Paying $40 for 12 months comes out to $480 total, which basically tells you that you will be paying that chunk of change for 3 doctors visits a year, a completely variable amount out of pocket on top for each visit, and a completely inescapable monthly payment. One last condition they have in this plan is that on top of all of this, even if you did try to opt out of paying the remaining of your years worth of $40 payments (which they communicated to me was completely possible), you would be charged for the full amount of what your 3 yearly visits would have cost before their discount. The bills for my 2 visits originally came out to just about $1,000, before the discount. Sure, I saved money from this plan, but I have still been roped into paying almost $700 (including the monthly payments + the additional cost of each visit) in a year for 2 visits that were not intensive procedures, nor were they emergencies. Also, while these terms were likely described in the paperwork I received for signing up, I feel like it's not too much to ask for these few highly important details to be communicated up front before someone signs up. It all feels like information is purposefully left out to convince a person in need to subscribe to this service, without knowing what they're fully getting into. I absolutely regret giving any money to this company. The health care workers that assisted me were nothing but helpful, but I have lost all respect to Valley Immediate Care as a whole and will be canceling my mandatory yearly membership at the end of the cycle.

After a relatively lengthy period on the phone with their new AI system, I made an appointment for a flu shot, which was confirmed by the computer. At one point, I told the computer, "f--k you" as a test and to take a stand for human dignity with no response other than possibly a longer pause than the other long pauses. When I got to the appointment, I was told by a human that Valley Immediate Care does not offer flu shots. Now, I'm wondering if the long pause was the computer deciding the best way to get back at me.
