I went in for chest congestion, typically a 15-20 minute visit with my doctor. I waited for over an hour to even be brought back, and then waited more than 30 minutes in the exam room. The physician's assistant that saw me took chest x-rays, which seemed excessive, but then it turned into a big conversation between him and the actual doctor about whether I had pneumonia, which I knew I didn't have. Overall it was nearly THREE HOURS and cost me over $80 including the unnecessary chest x-rays. Do not go here, find a real doctor's office. read more

first. i had an appointment at 5:49pm and they didn't take me in until almost 6:40pm which isn't even the bad thing. i came in for a ear infection and the first Dr. said my ear was just fine and nothing was wrong with it and the last dr. said it was inflamed and had liquid. then that dr. took a look of my breathing and he said that there's something wrong with my heart and that it's not beating right which was odd and i got scared and told me to go to the ER/ see a provider as soon as possible. so i went to the ER after and the Dr there said everything was great and said that nothing was wrong and my heart was normal. This facility is a dump! There was no air conditioning, and the waiting room is basically a wide hallway with folding chairs. A man and his daughter were sitting across from me and had coughs that sounded like pneumonia. It was 107 degrees outside and not much cooler inside without even a chair between patients. This is not a safe place for any patient to wait to be treated. If you weren't very sick when you arrived, you probably will be when you leave. I would give it a minus 10 if I could. I went in with a severe case of poison oak, I had leg swelling and blisters everywhere, the doctor isn't convinced that the leg swelling is caused by poison oak so he orders an EKG, chest x-ray and blood work, no surprise that they all come back great, do I get steroids? NOPE! Instead he gives me a referral to get an ultrasound, I'm already $600.00 into this visit all over a case of poison oak, I spent a small fortune and received zero medicine and felt worse then when I'd gone in, this is the absolute worst doctors office I've ever visited read more

I don't have a primary care physician because I can't seem to find one who can see me the day I'm sick... Leading to my normal spot, Valley Immediate Care. On top of that, I rarely go to the doctor and the last one I had was great... But he did urgent care which meant my appt time really didn't mean a thing. Last time I waited 3 hours past my spot time to finally be seen! Argh... So back to VIC- They have online check in so u can limit the amount of time you will be sitting in their lobby waiting... It'll even send u a text at a predetermined time before your room will be ready...super convenient. The nurses and doctors are all friendly and professional, some more personality sterile than others, but the job completion is always there. They have an on site lab and X-ray so most issues can be taken care of without having to go elsewhere. I appreciate their 5 day guarantee too. If things haven't gotten better within 5 days of your initial visit, you can come back at no cost (this doesn't mean you won't have to pay for any new tests, just get to skip the office visit fee). All in all, they fit my needs. Open early and close late, open 7 days a week, no appt needed, and I can be seen the day of my phone call. Their convenience is why I haven't searched for another primary care physician. read more

Over the summer I stepped on a nail in my backyard. I had just mowed and wanted to walk in the bare grass. Woops. Went to Immediate Care the next morning. Got a tetanus shot and had my wound looked at and cleaned. I was wearing sweats and a hoodie and the woman helping me kept asking if I worked. Not "so where do you work?" but rather "so do you work at all?" I have been at my place of employment for 14 years not that it is any of her damn business. For them to really "clean" the wound cost me an additional $500. Fine, but rather than tell me the cost, she just kept asking me if I was sure I wanted to do that because it was kind of a waste of time. Incredibly awful experience. The new Urgent Care on the corner of Stewart and 99 is amazing, they are friendly and they actually care. read more

I have whiplash from skydiving this past week and the pain was unmanagable. I tried everything from Epsom salt baths to heating pads. I finally decided to go to Valley Immediate care for some pain medicine and/or muscle relaxer and see if my pain was "normal". The wait time was and hour and a half at 9:30 a.m. I was irritable because of the pain and left because they said they would call me when a room was ready. An hour later I get a call and a room and an hour after that a doctor with long hair comes in and starts treating me like im there for pain meds. He spends less then 5 minutes with me (literally) and doesn't talk to me about my symptoms. He asked me why I came here instead of my primary care. Seriously? It's convenient because it's closer to my house.... He did just a quick look in my ears and mouth. The discharge took about 45 minutes (no joke) and by the time the lady came in to discharge me I was in tears from the pain. I'm never going back. I came because it was supposed to be convenient and fast and I ended up crying in the room because I was so uncomfortable. My husband has cancer and he has heavy duty pain medicines. If I wanted to get high I can but I was trying to be legitimate. I have a sour taste in my mouth for being made to feel judged. I understand my emotions were probably heightened because of my pain but this was ridiculous. read more

--- Got better care than we did with home providers --- Our toddler fell from a significant height and we rushed into the nearest urgent care we could find. The folks at this facility were AMAZING, and the care we received was better than our urgent care centers at home in the San Francisco Bay Area. Pros + Front staff was immediately helpful and really comforted us. + Nurse immediately came out INTO THE WAITING AREA to look at our son while we were talking with the front staff, giving them information, etc. + Front staff offered to have nurse take us back and start with us while my wife continued with the checkin. + Nurse was caring, asked us thorough questions, comforted us, told us about the doctors that might be seeing our son. + Doctor came in with balloons made out of latex gloves to entertain our kids. + Doctor was incredibly thorough. Even though our son had a visible laceration only on his head and he was behaving completely normally (in fact, he was super happy and playful -- aren't they all by the time you bring them to urgent care?), when she heard he had fallen, she did a full body examination, checking for internal injuries and broken bones. Even though he fell fast first, she checked his back, rear of pelvis, etc. + She noticed laceration was a bit large and while didn't require sutures, did take the time to glue it shut. + We waited a bit for the doctor (15-20 min) but (a) the place was busy -- most rooms we passed had a patient inside and they only had two doctors and (b) the intake was so quick and the nurse taking a quick look was very reassuring. Cons - It's located in a strip mall which may give you a moment's hesitation (all our urgent care centers at home are in large hospitals). Don't let it fool you though -- the care is excellent and caring. - The exam room are a bit small. But we didn't care at all. All in all, fast, caring, excellent care. And when we especially needed it. We receive good care at home but I almost wish it was like this clinic. read more

I had to get tested for covid given I had a coworker who got it, and after viewing their website, this location had the earliest availability. I selected my appointment online a day ahead. It gave me enough time to still go to my other job (I knew I would test negative). I had some questions about the type of test so tried to call and was on hold for 15 minutes and gave up. The next day (day of appointment) I received a text an hour before saying that the appointment had to be pushed back an hour and a half later. And of course and hour goes by and I am getting ready to leave and then my appointment gets pushed back ANOTHER 45 minutes. obviously I couldn't go into work. I tried to call and was on hold for 25 minutes and then I gave up, I wanted to make sure that it wasn't going to get pushed back again. I received an automatic text saying to wait in my car once I arrived and to let them know that I was there and what vehicle I was in, so I sent that text. And a minute later received a text that told me to go check in at the front counter "so I don't lose my appointment" so I walked to the front desk, mask on, and said I had an appointment and definitely got some attitude back saying how I should have ignored the automated text message and that I need to go back to my car. While inside, I also noticed 4 women at the front desk, seems like at least one of them could have picked up the phone the two days I tried to call? Once we were helped, given paper work and taking the actual test, the lady doing it was professional and overall pretty nice. She told me all about the test and preformed the test quickly, so that was appreciated given that the feeling is pretty uncomfortable. She is the reason this review isn't 0 stars. Had my results (negative) in 20 minutes! Moral of the story, the "Valley Immediate Care" in North Medford, is anything BUT immediate! read more

Unbelievable poor service!!! Went online and set an appointment for 2:51, headed there and received a text they were running behind 17 min. Arrived on time and the waiting room was empty...not a single person! Went through the check in and then put in a room to see the doctor...50 min later I inquired if I was going to be seen or not and was told the Dr was reviewing my chart and would be in immediately. 15 minutes later I walked out. Came here for a very open and shut case during a slow time. Was placed in a room after taking a test to await my obvious results and they forgot about me. The rooms are not sound proof and I heard everyone come and go before me. Nearing lunchtime after waiting for an hour I peeked my head out to ask for an estimate on time and they were visibly surprised to see me and even asked which room I came out of. Then after being shut in again heard them asking which rooms are for which cases and so on. So if you come here for help make sure you check periodically to make sure they remember you. read more

I was visiting from out of state. Went in with a lung infection. I was seen with in 5 minutes. The receptionist and nurse was very nice. Doctor gave good attention and took a conservative approach. Still wasn't feeling that well after a few days and went back in. There was no charge for the follow up and gave me the prescriptions I needed. My mother suffers from debilitating migraines that sometimes make her unable to function, sever pain etc. California was great, and it's been difficult finding good care/treatment in Oregon since living here to help with the frequency of these migraines. Let me just say tonight's experience with Dr Hoffman went above and beyond to the point it brought my mother to tears of gratitude and relief. He took the time to get info on her history of treatment, made recommendations to help with long term care and even got information to refer her out to some alternative treatments. I have to say I was not impressed with the care given to me. I went in with UTI symptoms that were not being helped much with meds I was on. I was prescribed a different antibiotic over the course of 3 days during which I started to feel better. After the 3 days, my symptoms returned and so I returned to the clinic hoping to get a longer course of the antibiotics. The Dr. Would not prescribe me another dose, actually told me my workout clothes might be causing a problem, and said I was probably menopausal and didn't have a UTI, because their test said I didn't. I will probably end up in the ER, because I can't get into a gynecologist for 10 days, & longer than that for a urologist as I am new in the area. --I have researched similar complaints of women online, with same symptoms, and many needed longer treatment with antibiotics. Once again, male doctor, who doesn't believe his patient. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU CAN HELP IT. I felt like they treated me with a pat on the head, dismissing my pain and symptoms. ***UPDATE*** Ended up at the Providence ER last night because my acute pain was so unbearable. (Just a few hours later.) I told them what happened at Valley Immediate Care, and how they said I couldn't have a UTI because their culture said I didn't. ( twice actually) WELL LETS JUST SAY THE DR. at the E.R. Said this: **She said she could not understand how they missed this, as the culture at the Hospital came back with blood and bacteria in it. Diagnosis? ACUTE CYSTITIS WITH HEMATURIA. Not only did I receive excellent care at Providence ER, they listened to me. & yes I had a wonderful woman PA, named Collete Rhyner who figured it all out. ***i received what she said were the big guns to clear my severe UTI- levofloxacin. And some other meds. ***Moral of the story? Find a Dr. That actually listens to you and trust your own gut. & not all UTI cultures are obviously done correctly. I went in with a UTI. I was given a prescription from a very nice doctor Named Beverly Steinman. After 2 days my symptoms had worsened dramatically. I was in severe pain and bleeding every time I peed. I called back and was basically told, "Just wait and see if it gets better." The doctor on call the next day ( Dr John Berlingeri) refused to talk to me at all. The pain was so bad that I felt like I had been in labor for 2 days! I was crying every time I peed and I have a pretty high pain tolerance. Finally, on my third call, the doctor looked at the notes and agreed to give me pain meds because Dr. Steinman had written in her notes that she was willing to give them to me if I wanted them. I had some left over from a previous eye injury and I thought the antibiotics would work before I ran out so I declined them. What I really wanted was a different antibiotic because it was obvious the ones they gave me weren't working and the symptoms were getting way worse. When I arrived at the doctors office to pick up the prescription I immediately had to use the bathroom and I'm sure they heard my excruciating screams. They said they were going to sign me in. They came out and asked if I was supposed to pick up the prescription at the Ashland clinic for some reason. I didn't even know they had an Ashland Clinic. Eventually they came out and gave me a prescription making sure to let me know that the only reason they did it was because it was in Dr Steinman's notes. I still had not seen the doctor because what I really wanted was an effective antibiotic prescription. When I left I explained that I had no other choice but to go to the ER. I asked why the doctor refused to talk to me and the girl told me that he didn't want to use their "five day promise." I told her I didn't care about the money. I went to the Ashland Emergency Room where they changed the antibiotics and I started feeling better within 12 hours. To say that Dr John Berlingei has a god complex is an understatement! He is rude and condescending and feels to good to even talk to the patients. If you are desperate, make sure he is not the doctor on duty when you go. I have had previous good experiences at this clinic but this experience has made me decide never to go there again! read more

I sent my daughter to valley immediate care yesterday for very bad head cold. She is very congested and because of Oregon Law she needs a prescription for a decongestant. This company had the nerve to sit her in front of a computer to be diagnosed and charged us $231. The diagnoses was a common cold and they did not prescribe anything to help with the congestion. I made them refund my money and I will make sure my insurance company is not charged for the time my daughter spent at this place. read more

I had a fever for 72 hours, finally went in to be seen and low and behold I had pneumonia. Apparently they have an X-ray on premises and were able to X-ray me and and do some blood tests on site and very quickly. I was out within 2 hours! The Doctor I saw was Dr. Penner and he was very thorough, friendly, and efficient. I ended up needing to go to the ER the next morning with breathing issues and the staff there left much to be desired. I thought very highly of Dr. Penner's service! read more

Very pleased with my care at VIC. I came to Dr Maccurdy with a strange, painful rash that had been misdiagnosed by my primary care physician. Dr Tim Maccurdy and the nursing staff where very prompt in all tests done and had a biopsy with an actual diagnosis. They took the time to come up with a treatment plan and I felt very aware of the care that was happening with me because Dr Maccurdy and the nursing staff made me feel included by explaining to me what was going on. He never left me in the dark on this rash or what is was. I definitely recommend Valley Immediate Care and am thankful for the relief. read more

I had WONDERFUL service here. I went into Valley Immediate Care because I had a nasty cough and a fever. I usually tend to "tough" things out so I was only in there to get checked out and get a doctors note for work. I did the thing where you checked in online and they call you when a room will be open soon, so the wait was only about 5 minutes before I got back there. Super convenient! My doctor was John Berlingeri and let me tell you this, this guy is amazing. After the visit was over I was told that he was the ONLY doctor in the building for the WHOLE DAY!! He came in and immediately figured out that the problem wasn't a simple cough and fever, but I actually had pneumonia. I had never had pneumonia before so he took the time out to explain it to me, tell me what to do when I got home and explain my prescription to me as well. With the amazing patient care he provided I would have never guessed he was the only doctor in there on a busy day. This was my first experience with this place and I was very impressed. This place gave me better care then any other place I have been to! This place is great and I'll continue to recommend it to anyone who needs urgent care! Later edit: I noticed a review saying that the same doctor I saw refused a patient care even within the 5 day period. I find this hard to believe because I called the clinic multiple times through out my sickness to double check that I was taking my prescription correctly or with other random questions I had and they didn't mind it at all. After a bicycle mishap, I had what I thought was an infection to my thumb, under the nail, about 6 days after I had treated it daily with peroxide, on my own. I went to Valley Immediate Care in Ashland. I was seen by a staff person, not a doctor, that agreed that my thumb was infected and then prescribed antibiotics. I also inquired about the "dark spot' at the point of the infection and was advised that is was only "dried blood". $270.00 After another 5-6 days, on antibiotics, there was no improvement. I, coincidentally, received a call from Valley Immediate Care about that time, to see how I was doing, and told them that I was going back into the facility, because of lack of response to antibiotics. I went in the next day and saw a doctor who advised that "it was still and infection and to keep soaking with peroxide". I told him of my ongoing concern with the "dark spot". He advised that it was, wait for it, "dried blood". He was not moved off that position when I told him that I was bathing the spot in peroxide daily, and dried blood would have dissipated. But, he was The Doctor. I went home, got out a sewing needle and a magnifying glass, and dug out a stone, about the size of a small tic-tac. Pictures of the wound and the removed stone, were sent to Valley Immediate Care the next day, for their comment. No significant response was received. Why on earth neither of the Health Care professionals thought to look at the "dark spot" with a magnifying glass, as I finally did, is hard to justify. ER is difficult, time consuming and expensive, but in the future, I will make it my first choice. Assuming I can't take care of it with my own instincts and sewing kit. read more
