When I came back it was super busy and so a woman helped me out and she was so lovely. I told her more about what my taste in fragrance was and she gave me a bunch of really on point recommendations considering. A third guy helped me for mixing my chosen scents then sprayed me down with this extreme atomizer thing which left me smelling like a cloud of fragrance. He also helped me figure out how to take better photos on my iPhone which was super kind of him! Would definitely recommend and will bring my friends to this spot for sure.

We arrived about 5 minutes early but Tate was able to start our session right away. He started off by asking us what our vision was for our fragrance. I wanted something more fruity and sweet and my boyfriend was looking for something more unique or unusual. We smelled a bunch of different scents based on what Tate thought would mesh well together in our end product. We narrowed it down to 3-4 scents and walked over to the mixing station. There we smelled different combinations of the scents that we chose and picked our favorite combo to use in our fragrance. My favorite part was watching the fragrance being mixed together in a quick emulsification-like process. Once he finished mixing our fragrance, we got a perfume shower with our scents! I would absolutely do this again next time I'm in Vancouver, even if we aren't celebrating anything in particular. It was such a great date night activity.

I have been to the Old Faithful shop many times and it hasn't disappointed. It is very true to their theme of artisan, home-made or well-crafted-and-the-woodsy-bent items, which speaks to a particular customer. Some may love this shop and others may find it expensive and too specific to integrate into their personal style. I appreciate the care in the selection of the goods and the kindness of the employees. The first time I was in the shop (being overwhelmed by the visuals) I just bought several journals. When I got home, I realized that I wanted more and ordered them by phone because they don't use their website for special orders. They were very nice and when the package arrived, it was beautiful. Brown paper package, tied up with string... no kidding. This time I bought a huge wool blanket that I thought I could fit in my luggage (I couldn't) and it made a perfect gift. The thing about the blanket purchase was how much banter I had the the employees while I was purchasing it. While we were talking, THEY referenced that I had bought the journals the previous year. What memory. Their attention to detail gets me every time. I will always go back to Old Faithful when I am in Vancouver... whether or not I can fit what I buy into my luggage.

At time of ordering and paying the customer service rep said the flowers might not be exactly like the photo as they use seasonal flowers. I felt they over promised with false advertising and completely under delivered. The photo on the left is from their website and the photo on the right is what I received. Flowers, especially the roses were wilted, edges were brown, and the accent flowers were the cheap kind. I should have bought a dozen roses from Costco instead of using this florist.

I had no idea that I'd also get some excellent service as well! I was looking for a new cologne and gave the sales associate an idea of what I wanted and what I currently own. Within moments, she had a selection of colognes for me to try and she did a great job of staying within the parameters I set. Sampling the colognes and using the supplied coffee beans to refresh my sense of smell, I decided on one and was happy to save about 15% off what would have been the regular price in a regular store. What really made me a fan was that she seemed genuinely interested in finding the right cologne for me and was humbled by my thankfulness. I'll definitely come back to this same location again in the future.

They do have better prices than what you would get at the Bay or Sears, however, my only issue is that sometimes, depending on the distributor, they're slow on getting the latest titles. She asks you to sit at her counter and asks you questions about what you like. She sprays scents on test strips and labels them so you can keep track of what you like. Between scents you cleanse your palette with coffee beans. We nailed down what I liked to two scents, I couldn't decide on which one I liked better so I bought both. The quality of these niche brands can't compare to more mainstream brands. If you're visiting Vancouver or a local, go treat yourself to meeting Naz and having your olfactory senses stimulated in the best way.

It was because i gave him a budget to shop within $300 for perfume as he always end up buying $1000 worth of perfumes. So this store is very budget friendly. The perfumes are all natural fragrances or mostly they are chemical free. Many other names like amouge, royal crown,rasasi etc etc can be found hidden here. I wish , i had not spent money on those expensive brands like Tom ford , creed and Louis Vuitton. I m definitely recommending you guys to check this place whenever possible. Loved it.
