This is a must have if you're looking for a clean well prepared meal. I needed them to specialize my order with eggs over medium and an extra bison patty. They even put it in a bowl! I really liked the service and the food was perfect!! read more

PROTEINHOUSE - Bison with 3 eggs and sweet potatoes - New American Near Me - Mcallen, Texas

I had just finished showering after a 10k race so needed a good brunch. I decided to try this place as it seemed to have healthy options. Upon arriving I approved of the music as it was very upbeat and place was clean. After deciding on an acai bowl I sat and it took awhile for my food to arrive plus girl couldve been a bit more friendly. Place was cold and other patrons thought that as well since they got jackets from their cars. Bowl was ok but it had that icky protein powder taste...I took rest but it all spilled in my cooler ugh so I threw it away. Maybe their meals taste better? read more

Super Clean! My friend recommended this place. The gentleman assisting me was very patient. I didn't feel intimidated as I viewed the menu to make my decision on what I wanted. I had a burger. It was delicious. My meal was a take-out meal. So, unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of it. I also got a protein shake and that was great! read more

What a fantastic find!!! Tasked with arranging lunch for a gaggle of collegiate swimmers, I called upon Protein House, and WOW they delivered - literally and figuratively! Not only did they bring our lunch to the pool and set it up, but the order was perfect; delicious, fresh, high quality and completely correct. The gluten-free guy loved his GF burger and the other options he tried (El Jefe and others), and the swimmers were beyond happy. The coach loved it so much that we ordered from them two more times in the week of our visit. I just wish I had PH where I live, but the one in McAllen is special and awesome - veteran-owned, classy, professional, and an outstanding lunch option for those looking for a healthy and delicious meal! read more

So last week I wanted something quick and healthy as I did not have time to pick up lunch so I decided to Favor Protein House. This was my first time eating here and I ordered the Bison wrap and it was EXCELLENT! Today I wanted to try them again so I got the teriyaki salmon bowl and it was also incredibly fresh and flavorful. I'm obsessed, can't wait to try out the next dish! Yes it's a bit pricey but it's good, quality food. We don't eat out often since we cook a lot from home, so I have zero qualms indulging in these guys once a week. Highly recommended. read more

If youre a rich macro counting juice head then you've found your heaven. If you're a member of the general public you have found an expensive and extremely healthy niche fitness restaurant. I for one appreciate the expansive menu and the options that they have there. I also know that it's hard to make food low calorie and tasty so kudos to this place. If I was a rich fitness model I'd probably live here, but my wallet, body, and number of sponsorships tell me that that won't be in my future anytime soon. Giving a 5 star because this place is good at what they do. read more

I liked my big PH salad. Huge portion, price was reasonable. My coworkers food looked delicious too. read more

I came in after a workout and it was exactly what I needed. I ordered a Cajun Power bowl and it was delicious. The portion, considering that I was hungry after the workout, was more than adequate to fill me up. Plus, the fact that there is a place in McAllen that focuses on healthier eating is a major plus. I have been trying to find healthier eating establishments in the RGV, and I'm glad to have found this. Will definitely come back! read more

I think it very unfair to pay full price for a product that is always half full. Please do better. read more

I normally wouldn't have done a review however the long wait time 20 minutes with 4 employees and being the only people in the restaurant, I wouldn't recommend this place. It's so hard finding a healthy place to eat in the valley and this place is not it. No matter the reviews or the healthy label slapped on to the restaurant. if you read the ingredients and the menu, a protein shake has a lot of fat and a little bit protein. You're better off buying the protein and making your own shake. I ordered a yogurt it was extremely sweet. read more

Good and healthy. I'm on a Keto diet and they had excellent modified menu items. I had the southwest bowl with cauliflower rice. Very delicious Came back 1 month later. No longer on Keto so had a DELICIOUS bison wrap with sweet potatoes on the side. It was incredibly delicious, fresh and tasty. I love this place. I only wish they had it in my usual cities of Austin, San Antonio and Houston. read more

First impressions were great I really liked the bowl, I think the fountain drinks could be better idk I didn't love them. The place was very clean, but the menu they give out for you to chose in the counter could be replaced. I think overall it's the best healthy spot in McAllen read more

I am a fan of ProteinHouse! This establishment is clean, efficient, and has excellent food. The menu is extensive: breakfast, lunch, dinner, shakes, coffee and others. I enjoyed a Thai Monster Bowl. It has beef & chicken with a tasty sauce. The portion size was large for about $15 bucks. I will be back to try out a few other things I saw on the menu. read more

This is the second restaurant I've found in McAllen that serves hormone free meat and chicken. There's a big obesity and cancer problem in The Valley due to people eating too much low quality meat full of steroids, synthetic estrogen, antibiotics, and preservatives. ProteinHouse is very clean and the decoration is modern and sleek. It's good to see restaurants popping up that cater to customers that value their health. read more

My boyfriend and I were visiting his home town and I wanted a healthy place to eat. Everyone said it was impossible, but luckily we found this little spot. This is better tasting than all the spots I've been to in LA! The portions are huge! We shared the Sexy Bowl and we're both stuffed. It was about $14. I also bought a cup to have some of their fresh juice, and OMG! I loved every flavor. That also have varieties of Hot Sauces which is important to me. Chipotle Tabasco is one of my all time favorites, and nobody usually has it. So I was happy to see it. The place was clean and trendy, the only criticism I would give is the music is a little loud. We really enjoyed the food, and I wish we were staying longer so I could try the other bowls. read more

This place is really nice. The atmosphere of the establishment is on point. The staff were helpful and attentive especially the cashier. It was my first time there and she guided me through the menu. I got the Southwest bowl. The food was good but the price is too high for what you get. For one bowl I paid $14 not including the drink or anything else. I liked the staff and place but it's way too expensive. read more

Interesting menu. Ask an employee about a menu item and you get no help. Pancakes but no butter. The "miel" is sugar free smuckers syrup. Over the speakers loud rap. I heard the F word fifty times before I complained. Miserable experience. read more

I haven't been to protein house in 3 years. Got it today and wow the quality of the food has gone down so much. The southwest bowl used to be amazing and now it was just horrible, most of the ingredients were left out, big globs of cheddar cheese. The bowl was 70% cheese, 20 percent meat and 10% quinoa. Very disappointing read more

Enjoyed the healthy preparation of the burrito. Not a drop of grease was detected in my burrito. In spite of fat contents, the steak burrito tasted great. Also, ordered the peanut butter and chocolate protein shake. The peanut butter seems to over power the hint of chocolate taste. My cousin ordered the green "Hulk" protein shake which had an apple flavor. That shake is outstanding! I'll be back to order more food next time I'm in town. read more

Clean eating. Good portions. I had their veggie omelet; it actually had more veggies than the typical onions and pepper.

Very disappointed with the food. Ordered the PH Burger and to say it lacked flavor was an understatement and the bun was soaking wet. $14.00 for a burger and it came with the most pathetic bowl of fruit as a side. Lastly, I ordered the green monster for a drink and half of it was foam. Very disappointing, not worth the money and I wouldn't recommend it.. read more

What a excellent choice for my 1st time here. I ordered a spinach wrap. Which included blackbeans, avacado, egg whites and it comes with chicken. But I had chicken sub out for a veggie patty. It also came with Turkey bacon bits which I did not include. The sub for veggie patty had 2 dollar up charge. Which came to a 13.oo dollar spinach wrap. This expense come into question when u have better prices options like Jason's. It's like u go to tropical cafe smoothie the wrap is 7 bucks and some change. To start the veggie wrap here without a sub is 11.00. Ouch... It was very delicious and my compliments to the chef. But with to many options of better pricing and good quality food also we come back to saving money question. Yes I would eat here again and have view menu a couple times to see a better priced item. My wrap and drink came out to 18.00 .. ouch... Yes , again only the pricing comes into question. But as far food quality and wait staff . It was all excellent.. Great Health 2 All... read more
