    Attic Crawl

We recently had a rat in our attic and called Attic Crawl. From start to finish, Alex and his crew…read morewere very professional, friendly, and incredibly hard-working. While inspecting the rodent issue, they also discovered mold in our attic. Alex provided many photos to show us the issue clearly. Alex was very careful to explain the entire process at the start of it so that there were no surprises during the process. They ended up removing all the old, contaminated insulation, thoroughly sanitized the attic, replaced with new insulation and wire mesh around the entire perimeter where any openings might exist. They effectively excluded all rod ents or pests from the attic. Alex came back for a follow up inspection and verified the attic is now vacant. Quality Workmanship: Even our electrician, who went up after they finished to check to see if the rats had damaged any wiring, commented on how clean the attic was and what a great job they had done. Cleanliness: I was worried about dust and debris coming from the attic down into the living areas of the house, but they created a plastic barrier Between where they were working and the living areas that left our home spotless when they were done. The crew was courteous and focused throughout the entire process. The price was very reasonable and fair. If you need attic services or pest remediation, my wife and I highly recommend them!

WARNING: "R-49" promised -- measured ~8-14.5" -- dispute escalated to lien + court…read more I hired Attic Crawl Inc. for attic work including R-49 blown-in insulation (stated in writing). I trusted their proposal -- and I regret it. After the job (9/27/2025), I measured insulation depth in multiple locations and found ~8 to 14.5 inches in many areas, uneven coverage, and no depth markers. I shared photos/measurements and asked them to bring the attic up to the promised R-49. Instead, they said the attic was larger than estimated and would only add insulation if I paid ~$1,472 + tax. I obtained a third-party correction bid for $2,917.20 to air-seal and bring the attic to R-49 with depth markers, indicating additional work is needed. Because they would not correct the insulation without extra payment, I withheld final payment while trying to resolve the issue in writing. After that, the situation escalated into a small-claims filing and a mechanic's lien (which I dispute). Regardless of how anyone views the dispute, the result was this: a homeowner raised a documented workmanship concern, asked for correction to what was promised, and ended up dealing with court + a lien. Bottom line: I do not consider this a reliable company and would not hire them again. If you're considering Attic Crawl, protect yourself.

After that experience, I question both the company's substantive knowledge and their ethics. First, they used some pressuring tactics to try to get me to sign on for their services right away. They urged me to make a homeowners insurance claim right away, saying that the work would surely be more than my $5k deductible. I asked what if we just took some remediation efforts without a claim, and they said just having a dehumidifier and fan in here for several days would already run $3k so I might as well file the claim. They otherwise would not offer an actual estimate for anything. The next day when they reached out to follow up, I said I didn't think it was worth it to file a claim and be out $5k. They then miraculously said they could do remediation for $2-$3k without a claim. I also had them look at another area of the house where we had some mystery water but was now visibly dry. I thought it came from outside rain. The technician said we had a leak and needed a plumber. I got a plumber in later who removed dry wall to look for the leak. There wasn't one. The plumber seemed really trustworthy and replaced a part just in case and was not $$$. But seemed to badly reflect on Robinson.

When asked how could I tell the old mold from new mold, if it came back, after treatment I was assured the old mold will turn gray so you can tell the difference. Based on this answer we went with this company. When they showed up to do the work I again asked how could I tell the old mold from the new mold, if any grew back, so I could utilize their warranty. Again, I was told the mold would turn gray and be like a dust. Two days after the treatment the mold was still black and had not changed at all. I emailed the company and asked how long it was supposed to take to turn gray since I was told two days. No response. I wait five days after treatment, check the mold and it is still black, no change at all. Email again with no response. Nine days after treatment I call and get someone who says they will get a hold of someone in the Washington office to get back to me right away. That night I get an email from Brent about my air quality tests. It says everything looks great. No answer to my question about the dead mold changing colors. So I email Brent asking why it is not turning gray. He response was that it doesn't always turn a different color, it depends on the mold, which is not what I was told twice in person and why we went with this company. Brent said he would come out and do another test if I want him too. One, that is great but still how do I know it is really dead. Two, it's pretty hard to sell a house with black mold all over the attic and tell the new buyers its dead. Brent did say he would meet with any new owners. I don't think new home owners want another meeting when trying to buy a house and buy one that has visible mold, dead or alive, all over the attic. Three, it will be impossible to tell any new mold from old mold as it is all the same color and I had a lot, so the warranty is useless. I guess my choices now are when I get the new roof put on to have them rip off all the plywood and replace it or get it done again with a different company that kills the mold and covers up the dead mold so you can tell if any new mold grows back. Please, Please, please go with a different company.
