The first medication we tried did NOT work and she was quick to correct it and luckily the second one did. It's been 5 years and I still take it. I have tried additional medications a few times as my condition usually calls for it and I have experienced some traumatic events as well... and she keeps in mind what hasn't worked for me and the side effects I've experienced from those particular medications when suggesting a new addition. I know that should be a given but some doctors seriously do not take the time to do that. They just push what needs to be pushed if you get me. She also only suggests generics. She is a caring person and seems genuinely concerned when I'm having issues. I will never see another psychiatrist unless one of us moves. Highly recommend giving her a shot.
