Took care of our issue at low cost and gave us a thorough recommendation on what to repair. He also took the time to call around local establishments to see if they would be able to fix the problem (possibly at a lower cost) and recommended those places. Honest, meticulous, and works with integrity. Highly recommend.

Knowing to never trust a mechanic I do not know, I got a second opinion. Darrell hadn't even drained the oil that he said he found metal in and no metal was found in it when it was drained. I've truly never met a shoddier mechanic. Sounds like he can do some minor air conditioner repairs from the reviews I've seen, but figured I'd give a real review of his diagnostics. By the way, all my vehicle needed was some new spark plugs and ignition coils, under $200 repair. It's running smoothly and definitely has years before it'll need trashed. Don't go to this guy unless you want to waste money and potentially be out a whole car. If you want a good recommendation, go to Auto Care Experts in Yakima.

Dean Automotive & Towing referred us to Derek at Wise Automotive and Derek was able to fit us in to his schedule right away that Thursday afternoon. We went into town for lunch (The Palace - great restaurant!). Derek called with an update an hour later. He found the drum brake had bound up, and also found some water had gotten into the marine grease. Less than two hours later and we had repacked wheel bearings and the brake imbalance was fixed. He had us do a test drive first to make sure it was OK while he finalized the bill. What!?! Let a stranger rmtest drive before paying!! I've worked for an 120 employee new car dealership for 16 years and I was compelled to recognize someone in my industry who did an excellent job diagnosing, keeping us updated on his progress, and did not try to upsell or charge for additional unnecessary work. I felt his charge was fair considering he had to squeeze me into his workload. AND, he texted me the next morning asking if I made it OK, if the brakes worked. Wow! That is so rare to have followup like that in any business! The car business in general has rightfully earned their reputation for being unethical & untrustworthy. However, Derek Knaus at Wise Automotive is the example in the correct way to treat a customer. That is the right way to build a business, and you sleep much better a night knowing you did the right thing. Derek, you aced it! You've earned my deep respect, and if someone is reading this while looking for a shop in the Ellensburg area do not hesitate to schedule an appointment with Wise Automotive.

It's funny to read reviews and see how one person's experience made this the worst Les Schwab store…read morein the world and yet for me it was the best. I had a blowout on my travel trailer last week so I made an appointment at Les Schwab. We live about 2 hours away but we were able to store the trailer close by until we could come back with more time, and when I went by in the morning to scope it out, the guy said that I could bring the trailer in anytime, even though my appointment wasn't for another hour. FYI, they have a separate trailer repair center across the street so it's easy to get in and out with a trailer. The guy working there jumped right on it, but within minutes he had 3 other people pull in that needed help, so he was a bit distracted, but he got some more people over to help him and kept at it. Another employee happened to be looking at our trailer and noticed one of our springs was broken, just hanging there. I tried calling some other trailer repair places in town to see if I could track down a new spring, but wasn't having any luck. Then a Les Schwab guy that just happened to be in the area (he's a mobile guy not based out of here) checked in his truck and just happened to have a spare spring that fit our trailer. And he just gave it to us! He must've spent the next hour helping the employees install the new spring, making sure they had everything they needed before taking off, and though we were they for about 2 hours, we got 5 new tires and a replacement spring and hit the road with a much better towing experience. And they charged us about 50 bucks for the labor on the spring that should have been a lot more. I'm guessing overall we saved about 500 dollar for the spring and install, all because these guys jumped in to help us out. This is not something you see every day, but I have a feeling at Les Schwab in Ellensburg it's not that out of the ordinary. If I could I'd drive back there every time I needed tire service. 2 hours might be a bit of stretch but if I'm ever in the area I will absolutely go back. Thank you to the entire team that helped us out in a pinch, we really appreciate it!
