We were driving across the state when we had a hub on our boat trailer overheat while we were in stop & go traffic West of Easton on July 2, 2020, I noted there was water in the hub. Dean Automotive & Towing referred us to Derek at Wise Automotive and Derek was able to fit us in to his schedule right away that Thursday afternoon. We went into town for lunch (The Palace - great restaurant!). Derek called with an update an hour later. He found the drum brake had bound up, and also found some water had gotten into the marine grease. Less than two hours later and we had repacked wheel bearings and the brake imbalance was fixed. He had us do a test drive first to make sure it was OK while he finalized the bill. What!?! Let a stranger rmtest drive before paying!! I've worked for an 120 employee new car dealership for 16 years and I was compelled to recognize someone in my industry who did an excellent job diagnosing, keeping us updated on his progress, and did not try to upsell or charge for additional unnecessary work. I felt his charge was fair considering he had to squeeze me into his workload. AND, he texted me the next morning asking if I made it OK, if the brakes worked. Wow! That is so rare to have followup like that in any business! The car business in general has rightfully earned their reputation for being unethical & untrustworthy. While driving over the pass towing our trailer, we began to have cooling issues with our truck. We managed to limp along towards Ellensburg in hopes of finding a shop to work on our truck. After several calls to shops all saying they were too busy, we found Derick at Wise Automotive who after hearing about our problem and knowing we traveling, was willing to re-arrange their schedule to accommodate us. Our Dodge Dakota was leaking radiator fluid (our only vehicle). We had taken it to another place and they just replaced the cap. We liked the price, however we were still leaking fluid. This shop was recommended by a few of our co-workers. They were great! They were very helpful, and had our truck fixed in a timely matter. We did have to purchase a new radiator, but the truck is no longer leaking. We will definitely taking our vehicles here in the future. read more

We were birding a gravel backroad near Othello, WA and suddenly heard a shrill metal-on-metal grinding noise on the front passenger side. We drove a few more yards but the noise grew worse and worse. We stopped and called AAA WA for a tow and repair shop recommendation, ending up at Wise Automotive. Mr. Wise's shop already had a busy day of work scheduled but he squeezed us in and one of his capable team members had the wheel off in a few minutes quickly diagnosing our problem (tiny rock caught inside the brake rotor). All I can say is WOW! I took my diesel pickup for them to do a full cooling system overhaul, install a coolant filter kit, and a temp gauge and they installed everything in less than 24 hours! The work done is impeccable and I'm proud to show off their work under the hood! I got the call my truck was done and I was so caught off guard I couldn't find a right, they immediately offered to pick me up and the arrived within 15 minutes. They walked me through all the work and I could tell they treated my truck like it was their own. Our radiator blew around noon on I90 heading to Spokane. I phoned all the auto repair shops in Ellensburg and they all said they couldn't help us until the next day except Wise's. Matt at Wise's Automotive said he'd try his very best to help us the same day. We had our truck towed there and he had a brand new radiator installed and had us on our way in 2 hours. My daughter was driving home from Portland to Wenatchee on Sunday afternoon when her older Subaru overheated and was leaking fluid just outside of Goldendale. AAA towing would only get us to Ellensburg and Wise is a AAA approved shop so they dropped it off there. Of course, I know little about cars so they could have told me anything and I would probably have accepted it. I was thinking it could be anything from a serious engine problem to leaking radiator to who knows what else. Monday about noon Matt called me.
