We first contacted ProspectBArk when our pup was only 3 weeks old. Chun-Soon, Matt & Tim quickly made time to made a personal visit to meet us and answer all of our questions. We saw how accommodating and trustworthy they were and never looked back. Over the years, we have had several team members care for our pup but each have been with us for at least 1-2 years. Four years ago, we moved to a neighborhood that they didn't even service because the neighborhood didn't have many dogs. They found a way to service our new neighborhood and eventually grew the clientele in the area. We're so thankful because otherwise we would've been stuck using wag. Which we tried once but quickly learned that the walkers on wag are not consistent and a stranger will eventually have the keys to your home. In summary, ProspectBArk is great at what they do. Catsitter assigned to me for 3 days of 2 daily visits did not send a message on the morning of his first visit. I contacted Prospectbark asking if the sitter had any problems getting into my apartment to feed my cats. Prospectbark responded they assumed the sitter had been able to get into my apartment to feed my cats, that the catsitter had lost his phone so he could not send any messages on WhatsApp, they hoped he would have his phone later that day, and that the sitter was communicating with ProspectBark by email whenever he was home. The sitter sent a quick message to me in WhatsApp after the evening visit but no pictures to confirm he was actually there. Isn't the whole point of sending pictures to assure that the sitter is actually there and the pets are being fed? Especially when there has been no communication as expected from the sitter? On the second day of the visits I was told one of the cats was vomiting foam. I know this happens when there is too much time between feedings and the cat is not getting enough food which is why I paid extra for visits before 10am and after 6 pm. I decided to cut my trip short and came home early. ProspectBark was kind enough not to charge me for the late cancellation of the last visit. read more

Our regular walker, Alex, is absolutely amazing -- communicative, responsible, and really great with our weirdo greyhound, and set up a great buddy walk that our dog really looks forward to (she always tries to go in her buddy's building when we walk by!!!). I've relied on friends and roommates to watch my cat Huxley when I was away in the past, but this holiday season I felt it was time to finally get a pet sitter so I would have comfort of mind when away. Through Yelp I found Prospect Bark, a wonderful local service. Becoming a new client was easy: you fill out the online form and then wait to hear back. The holidays are busy/popular times, so best to book early! Once my dates were set, I was introduced to my sitters via email and then we set up a time for them to come by apartment to meet my cat friend and see his routine. The two sitters arrived on time and asked lots of questions, and were so sweet to my kitty, I felt at ease right away! My favorite part of the pet sitting service is that they will text you pictures and videos of your feline (and I would guess canine) friends, so you know a visit took place and can see what they are up to. The visits took place anytime between 10am and 6pm, but you can schedule certain times if needed. Huxley was well loved and well fed while I was away, and I was able to relax and not stress about him being alone! I also found Prospect Bark to be super affordable, with a 30 minute visit (with no set time and no medicine administration) to be $18. I moved from Tucson, AZ to Brooklyn, NY in August. In AZ I used to go to the dog park daily and I also had a backyard. I didn't realize how poorly leash trained my dogs were until I moved to Brooklyn. When I first moved here my work schedule was really crazy and it didn't take me long to realize that my dogs needed more daily exercise than I was capable of giving. I read a bunch of different reviews and called Chunsoon on a Saturday. That Monday evening, Zachary and Lucy came over to meet Piper and Grayson. In the short 30 minutes that they were meeting my dogs, I think my dogs did every embarrassing misbehavior possible. I was sure that we would "fail" the interview....but I was more than over-joyed when Lucy started the next day! I love the daily update with pictures via text. I was shocked to find out that Lucy towel dries then after walks in the rain...she even brings her own towel. She showers them with attention, lots of dog kisses, and belly rubs. The best and biggest change that I have noticed since Lucy started walking them is their improved behavior when I am walking them. They are still a little crazy but definitely not nearly as nuts as they used to be. We love ProspectBArk and Piper and Grayson really LOVE Lucy! I have nothing but good things to say about Prospect Bark. They're the first and only dog walking company I've ever used, and I'm pretty sure if I lived in the area again (and had the money for a regular dog walker) I would go right back to them. They first do a little orientation at your house, where one of the owners (in this case it was Matt) came with my dog walker (Liam) to meet my dog Matlock, get the rundown on the little oddities of my apartment, and get two copies of my keys (one is for the dog walker, and one is a backup for the owners, in case for any reason the dog walker can't make it). They even brought a toy for Matlock! I big green crescent moon, which is his favorite toy to this day. After each walk, I got a text saying what kind of "business" Matlock did, along with a picture. The pictures were all so great, I even gave them their own instagram (instagram.com/matlockonthecase). Liam has quite the eye! When I ended up moving on short notice, they were super understanding and even pro-rated me that month to accommodate. They are quickly expanding though, so if you're in Manhattan, there's still a good chance they have a dog walker for you! I love these guys and highly recommend them. P.S. Here's why: She sends updates and photos after every walk, and is super responsive to my crazy dog-mom texts. She's so thoughtful. When Pig had a minor foot injury, Tina walked her solo and spent extra time keeping her company inside since she wasn't supposed to walk around in the snow for too long. She's never been late/forgotten to show up/lost my keys/lost my dog/etc. Only good things! She is a great photographer! Prospect Bark has been doing cat sitting for me for a couple years. My cat is, frankly, kind of a jerk. Somehow, I get texts from the sitters every time they visit. He's either covered in a string, eating a treat (approved by me) out of their hands, or up and about instead of hiding on the bed, hissing. A+ right there. Then, we adopted a rescue dog and needed to enlist their services for afternoon weekday walks. They always text a picture and report on the business done on the walk. I have a crazy schedule and am a totally flakey canceler or last min booker of walks and they are always sweet and kind about it. If my regular walker can't make it, they always find someone else - and always ask if I want to do a meet and greet beforehand to make sure my dog is cool with the new person that'll be coming to the house. My two dogs, Lexi and Conrad, can be a handful. They like to bark at other dogs on the street, pull on their leashes, and generally start a circus wherever they go. But they've met their match. The team at Prospect Bark takes PERFECT care of them. Our regular walker is Brandon, and he's a dream. He is flexible with time, walks my psychos with another dog in the neighborhood a few times a week to work on socialization (We love you Meeko!), and is always quick with a picture text and something funny that the weirdos did that day. He's understanding when I text from work begging for an extra walk, or cancel him on an unexpected day off. I can't say enough about him. Love. The backup system is excellent too!! Our backups are... Jeff, who is amazing. Truly, genuinely amazing. We love him, and miss him SO MUCH as our regular walker (his availability changed). Anytime our pups see him, they're tired out and nap for hours afterward. That's the mark of an Excellent walker :) Chun-Soon is the kindest and sweetest, especially with my two strange cats. She's sent me more than one video of her getting kitty kisses, which makes me happy and jealous at the same time! I think Matt is a special kind of human - the kind that REALLY truly understands animals and their needs. After sorting through a billing issue in 2015 related to being shorted on the time that my dogs were walked, they offered me a discount to pay in cash. I did so. Today - 5 years later! - they emailed me to say that they have no record of my cash payment and will be sending me to collections. Buyer Beware! If I could leave negative stars, I would.
