It all started with leaking faucets in both my bathroom sink and bathtub. I called Upstate…read moreSolutions, and had them replace the sink faucet and they did an excellent faucet installation. Upstate Solution couldn't do the bathtub faucet, because they don't do tile work. My house is an older house with a cast iron tub. I only used the tub for showers, and was looking at having to have the wall opened, then calling a plumber to fix the leak, some one back in to replace the tile work. After that I was then going to find someone to come in, and resurface or attempt to make the bathtub look better. My decision was to just find one company that could do everything at once. Some of the services provided by some of the companies are misleading, until you talk to them. Things they say they can do, they don't. I looked on Google for places with at least 5 star ratings and good reviews. I called several places, that gave me the impression that they weren't interested. One man still had his company listed, but told me that he no longer did that kind of work, another man was going to have knee surgery, and suggested that I wait until after his recovery. Another man suggested that I give his friend a call(he wasn't listed or licensed) that was not even happening. I decided to call Palmetto Bath to discuss getting my bathtub removed and a walk in shower installed. I called and scheduled a free consultation and the rest is history. Will and Jason did an awesome job installing my shower, answering questions and explaining what they were doing. These two work well together, and it was a pleasure meeting them. We were able to find several good Cab. Francs, some nice Nebbiolo's, Rioja, a nice old vine Zinfandel. We enjoyed discussing our tastes with the staff who were quite helpful and knowledgeable. I would say that their selection, which is not small, represents the highest quality wines available in Anderson. Obviously some large wine stores have high quality wine, so I'm not saying this is the ONLY place to go. I am saying that the wines here are on average much better than the average wine in other shops. We easily found a dozen bottles that impressed us and received a 10% discount on the case, which they carried out to our car for us. There are plenty of kitchen and related items for sale. Although I didn't spend a lot of time on that aspect of the place, I did see a lot of things that would fit into a well equipped kitchen or serve as gift for someone interested in some serious cooking. Again, impressive quality. They have some food here as well. We bought some great chicken salad. My wife is headed to a gathering of women from our church and will be taking that (as well as a bottle of wine that we picked out.) They also have wine tastings on occasion. I was told to watch them on Facebook to find the dates... Definitely a great place for gifts, wine, kitchen related items... Oh, once we were home I looked up the prices of all the bottles of wine and found that even without the discount about 11 of the 12 were priced below market in general. At our first meeting I emphasized we wanted just a very slightly eased edge and no radius so that the lines would fit well with our shaker cabinets. Come installation day the edges had a "pencil edge" that I had emphasized we did not want, and every corner was rounded even the ones that butt up against the stove (!). One end piece was not even polished. They brought the pieces in and my heart sank and they were obviously not installed. After arrangements were made for a new installation (and new product) all of a sudden I got an email that he thought someone else should do it and he would issue a partial refund of $800 of our $3,190 within 7 business days (we had paid in full, making a change to the product). All along he had been touting his very expensive fabricating machine but according to another supplier (who ended up doing an excellent job for us) this type machine cannot do the slight eased edge and no radius we wanted. I am not a fabricator, but apparently it has to be done by hand per this other source. Perhaps this is why he dropped us out of the blue. We have yet to receive any refund over a month later and he has IGNORED repeated attempts at communication via email, phone, voice mail, and text. He also was concerned about getting a 1099 because our payment was coming from a corporate check...why? UPDATE: After seeing my review all of a sudden I got a text (phone now working?) with "my email was not working" excuse and "I'll send you a check but remove the review" and when the check came (a measly $800 of the $3,190 we paid with no countertops to show for it) so did a letter that seems to threaten a lawsuit if I don't remove the review. Not the type of business man I want to deal with. You make your choice.

I started shopping here because of poor service at Lowe's, but I was also looking for a dryer duct today and they are $22 here and $10 at Lowe's. Lowe's also has more sizes of ducts. Finally, I was told they only have fireplace tools in store.
