Each year when it's time to renew my lease, I explore other, newer apartment complexes, but when I weigh the pros and cons, Hudson Miramont always comes out on top. Here's why I stay: Location: The complex is perfectly situated--just the right distance from MoPac and close to HWY 71. Look for the giant Google Fiber sign (FREE Google Fiber!), adjacent to greenbelts, walking trails, and a pasture where you might spot the occasional cow. Plus, you can walk next door to the Natural Gardener to enjoy their plants, goats and chickens, butterfly garden. Management: The office staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful, with minimal turnover during my time here--a major plus. Community Feel: The complex has a welcoming, neighborhood atmosphere. While the average age skews younger, as most apartments do, there are also older residents and families with children. Noise Level: Highway noise is minimal, except for the occasional fire truck or ambulance on Southwest Parkway. As for apartment noise, I live in a quiet building, so I can't speak for everyone, but it's generally peaceful. There are, of course, the requisite barking dogs--mine included, on occasion. Parking: Pay for a carport or garage. You'll be glad you did. Maintenance: Awesome! We have a team of 3 guys who keep this place running smoothly. Pets: This is a haven for dog lovers. The complex has two dog parks separated by a fence, each equipped with fantastic agility equipment--jumps, tunnels, and weave poles. I'm including pictures of the greenbelts to give examples. Apartments: The apartments themselves are wonderful. I've enjoyed my space, especially all the natural light. My 1BR apartment is spacious and comfortable. What's not to like?

The property is plagued with crime and every other garage door shows signs of being broken into (look at the top center where they bend the door in and fish a wire to pull the safety release) - mine was burglarized and $10k worth of property was stolen. Management WOULD NOT let me post a $5000 reward on the property bulletin board. They are fully aware of these chronic issues but have been grossly negligent because the security cameras don't work, they haven't installed tamper guards on the garage doors, and they attempt to silence any public knowledge of this issue so as to not threaten the rental revenue.

We got evicted during covid because both my fiancée and I were furloughed from our jobs and this was the first place we could get. We were within 40 hours of having to sleep in our car. So for that I am grateful that Austin Park Avenue Property Management was able to help us out. During the three years we were there we had little to no contact with the actual landlord. We mostly delt with her assistant. Julie (the assistant) was the best part about living there. She is super helpful and just an incredible person. Anything we needed she helped us out. She is the reason we enjoyed living there. I pray that one day she takes over the business because she knows how to interact with people. The Landlord we had (Janet) is really nice too. But I just got the feeling she rather be golfing or playing tennis rather than owning property.
