For their price, I could do an entire master bath gut with everything new with the highest quality products. We just wanted tile replaced, no plumbing, or electrical. My guess is that if they get 1 in 10 deals closed, then they are doing really well. Was ashame because we like their product and the company, but the price was insane. Which is why you have to sit through the sales pitch to get a price. Of course we knew they would be expensive, but not this expensive. 2 hours of my life I will never get back. Beware when a company mandates that you and your spouse both have to be available for the sales pitch. That was a red flag. Then when they wouldn't get done in 90 minutes, they wanted to schedule another appointment. Heck no. I made him stay and finish. Unless you have money to throw away, look elsewhere. Better and cheaper options out there.

In order to remove the tub six rows of tiles had to be removed. The water issue was corrected by Northern Virginia Waterproofing and the bathtub removal and re-install was handled by Caffi plumbing. The work by those companies was outstanding. Jud Tile was in charge of repairing my tile. They arrived in a timely manner and with the upmost care prepped my bathroom. They installed new cement board and matched my original tiles and layout. The Jud Tile employee - Oscar - was thorough and professional. His work was beyond good; it was spectacular. Looking at the finished product one would not believe that just a couple of days ago that bathroom was stripped down to the cinderblock looking sorrowful. I highly recommended Jud Tile for any bathroom and kitchen remodeling project and will use them again.

The understanding was that the existing wood flooring would be removed so the new tile assembly would be installed over the subfloor. Instead, the existing wood floor remained in place and cement backer board and tile were installed over it. When I questioned this, I was told it was installed on the subfloor, this is not true. Then they told me that the original hardwood floor was the subfloor, this is also not true. I also experienced multiple issues with the tile installation. A cracked tile was installed even though I had replacement tiles available. When I raised the issue, they blamed me for not physically handing the installer the tiles because they didnt know where they were located. Which is ridiculous considering they were installing the tiles and know exactly where they are located. Later, additional tiles were damaged with a large circular cut that required further replacement. The checkerboard tile pattern was also installed incorrectly during part of the project. The wallpaper installation was another major concern. The wallpaper pattern was not aligned between panels. After I pointed this out, I was told the installers were not experienced with wallpaper installation and normally performed other types of work. The wallpaper was eventually removed, but I was informed that I would need to purchase replacement wallpaper because the original material had been discarded. They dumped their bucket of materials into my garden, caught on my security camera. During the entire process, I repeatably dismissed by rude workers and disappointed by what I viewed as repeated workmanship issues, poor communication, and a lack of accountability when I raised concerns. After I informed the company that I wished to end the project, the work area was left with construction debris and dust that I had to clean myself. They left all of the demo garbage in my garage and in my garden. If you meet either Gal, Tal (Tyler) or Priscilla Winters, I would personally recommend to run away. This review reflects my personal experience with this project.

The context of our situation was that another contractor had royally screwed up our floors and we needed to re-sand and re-finish the hardwood. There are very few ways to make an entire house unlivable and a bad contractor using cheap products on the floors is one of them. Just trust me on this, do not go cheap on the polyurethane finish material. Go with the premium water based product. AZ can help you choose the best one for you. I found AZ in the NWFA (National Wood Flooring Association) list of certified professionals. I absolutely had to make sure that I was hiring a real professional and the best contractors self-select into NWFA certification because of rigorous training requirements. AZ also checked all other boxes. They had high-end dustless sanding equipment, certification from leading vendors of flooring products (Bona, Loba, etc), ongoing training, many years of experience, and a very competitive price point. The one thing that struck me about Moises, the owner of AZ was his dedication to his craft. It's hard to find contractors who strive for excellence in this day and age. Details: I first worked with Sussan on design. I had high level ideas of what I wanted, but no real experience in picking out all the elements that were needed to complete a design. Sussan proved to be a great partner for this - she visited my home first for measurements and to get a sense of my style. Then she invited me to the showroom to review materials. I really appreciated her willingness to work with me as I got an education on all of the choices needed to complete the design. I feel like the final product was exactly what I wanted - but I couldn't have done it as well without her. When the time came for the actual renovation, I was introduced to Jonathan as my project manager. Again, I have no real experience with contractors. But I am certainly familiar with all of the horror stories, so I was nervous about what to expect. This was literally the best experience with a service provider I have ever experienced. Jonathan kept me informed of progress, quickly consulted me when a choice needed to be made, and handled all of my nervous questioning and follow up with kindness and respect. That positive experience was backed up by the product. The team did quick and beautiful work. I was continually impressed by the high caliber of their work and so excited as I saw my design vision brought to light. I now have the kitchen and bathroom of my dreams - and it was delivered on budget and earlier than expected. No contractor nightmares here! As with all major work, there were some mistakes. But GBC handled them with a total focus on my satisfaction, and worked to make sure I felt pleased with outcomes every step of the way. I mentioned I live in a DC condo. This meant it was difficult to find a company that was willing to work with the restrictions that come from that experience (limited parking, shared elevators, strict HOA regulations). GBC took it all in stride - they made accommodations when needed to make sure they delivered for me without causing a fuss. I was delighted by my experience with GBC Rockville, and by my dealings specifically with Sussan, Jonathan, and also Luisa. They are my first call for any future construction needs - and they should be for you too.
