Given my busy schedule, (and the fact that I had already rearranged things and canceled meetings for this appointment time) I asked if he could simply provide an estimate for my front door (being the priority) without me being present. He was able to pull photos of my home online and immediately provided a quote, which seemed a little high, but that's fine. I was hoping to see the quality of their work and professionalism with this project in order to assess whether to go with them for all of my window replacement and other doors. I agreed to the price, and asked when they would be able to install. He defiantly replied that it would be whenever they could squeeze my small job in if they had another job in the area that finished up early. What? STRIKE TWO. I reiterated that, given my schedule, I would not be immediately available at their last minute whim and would need to schedule an actual date and time for install, weather permitting of course. He very rudely replied that maybe if I had other work to schedule-like at least 4 window replacements- then they would be able to schedule an install. Otherwise, there is no way ANY contractor would schedule an appointment and GOOD LUCK trying to find one who would. STRIKE THREE. Perhaps if you were able to professionally handle keeping the estimate appointment and installing the door, you would have had business on all window and door replacement in my house. Instead, they can't bother to figure out what 2 simple gutter pieces cost, & wanting to fill the holes w/hydraulic cement (insane), they just list a labor charge, & ask for 10% down, labor & material billed daily, & a credit card on file, I called them to speak to a total incompetent who then hands it over to Dick Hoerr, who called me a "social idiot", and a "moron", & that he'd never do a job for me. As if I would EVER consider a contractor who would call me filthy names & doesn't even know how to do the job. You don't pour 20-30 ft. of hydraulic cement in the holes - you cover the holes with rubber or aluminum & then coat that w/a small amount of hydraulic cement. Then, in his answer to one of the numerous negative reviews, he writes: "We are the highest rated handyman company on Angie's in the United States and we are located here in Chicago. I personally live in the Chicagoland Area. Simply put this is one of those landlords that attempts to beat down labor after they work on his home in an effort to maximize his profit. He says one thing in a review and then did the exact opposite." BEWARE and DON'T USE THEM!
