Is it necessarily important to visit this quaint little stand while vibing on Harbor Dr?! Yes. Is it the simplest of selections?! Yes. Are the corn dogs really that good?! Yes. Why is it such a cliche thing to do?! The team members are friendly, fast, and fun! Standing in line meeting folx from all over is also fun. The concept is a winning one and it's a must try! Cash only and expect a lil wait :)

What can I say, nothing bad. My wife has been going there for 62 years...and she introduced me to it. These Pups are addictive, they fry them correctly unlike all the other "wanna be" Pronto pup vendors. These are the best you will find, right by Lake Michigan, beautiful scenery, the service is always fast and friendly!! And, they open up a couple days on the 3rd weekend in January annually. We've waited in a couple brutal storms to got our Pups, but in the end it's always worthy of the trip from Grand Rapids!

Pronto Pups is a must try in you are looking for a economical snack, its no frills and the corn dogs are amazing. They are made fresh to order and are simply great! They only take cash, the staff today were very friendly and the view while enjoying our dogs is worth a million! Thank you for a wonderful visit!

I don't really like corn dogs. I grew up eating those heavily battered frozen ones that turn out to be extremely dry and sad. With that in mind, on my first visit to Grand Haven several years back, I was hesitant to join the long line that I saw forming in front of this stand along the boardwalk. But I thought hey, at only $1.75 each, might as well give it a try. That one visit made me a fan. On my most recent visit on a weekend afternoon, I found a line almost 40 people deep waiting for these delicious corn dogs. The employees work very quickly - hot dog on a stick, dip into batter, and fry. Once you order, they take a brush and paint the pup with your choice of condiment(s). They continuously have corn dogs coming out, almost like a factory line, and it only takes a few seconds to gather one up to hand out to hungry customers. It took around 25 minutes for us to reach the front, with most customers ahead of us ordering 3-4 skewers each. Pronto Pup ($1.75) - The quality is still there. A hot and steaming hot dog dipped into pancake batter, fried, and slathered with your choice of ketchup and/or mustard. The breading is light and thin with a delicate crisp - almost more similar to tempura rather than the more traditional corn meal breading. The inside hot dog is piping hot and moist. It's salty, which is perfect to replace the electrolytes lost while waiting in the sun. It's simple but delicious. And it's so easy to down three or four of these if you're not careful. Pronto Pup - the lines are long, but the wait is worth it. It's a perfect snack to chomp on as you walk along the boardwalk.

Great dogs at an affordable price, haven't raised their prices in over 20 years, will always return.

We tried the famous pronto pups when we vacationed a few weeks ago. Definitely a cool experience and the staff is super friendly and efficient! You'll definitely have to get a few to get full! 10/10 would recommend trying for the experience of a local spot.

Pronto pups is a spot in Grand Haven you must try! It is so much more than a corn dog, it is a game changer. The Pronto Pup has a light corn bread coating with the smear of your choice: ketchup or mustard. Super simply, super easy, super yummy! I see some people walking away with ten tucked in their fingers! I stuck with one, my boy grabbed up two. We decided we could easily have polished off 3-5 easily if we were choosing Pronto Pup as a meal. We decided to grab it as an appetizer before shoving off to the next local fare in Grand Haven. Please try Pronto Pups, it is proprietary. You may never find another one like this amazing little shop! You will always have this place on your mind! It's THAT good!

We have been visiting the Grand Haven area for many years now but have never had the opportunity to eat at Pronto Pups. We had heard amazing things but would always pass on waiting in the long lines. That said we finally tried them this weekend. The dogs were good but not great. Reality couldn't match how I had built the place up in my mind.

Service - excellent. Light cornbread/pancake-like coating - perfection. Wish I could put my own condiments on.

I like how pronto's dips the corn dogs in ketchup and mustard because I always make a mess doing it on my own.

If you got kids, or if you have the buds of a kid, this is a great place for soft, textureless,…read moretasteless hotdogs.

I…read moretried it on my first visit here and it was good, but in all honesty it didn't blow me away like I'd hoped. I think I'm more used to store bought sauerkraut out of a jar which is more sour and I suspect theirs may be homemade. It was good, but just not what I'd prefer although I'm sure for some it would be very good since everybody's taste preferences are different. I suspected though that if I came back again and tried something different I'd be more impressed so I held off on writing this review until I'd been there a 2nd time. Last night was my second visit and I have to say I was very impressed with my Gregordog which is a chili dog with ketchup, mustard, onion and pickle relish. Now that was impressive! I'm not normally a huge fan of chili dogs, but I will be going back for the Gregordog in the future since it was definitely in the top 2 of the best chili dog I've had. I think the one thing that impressed me the most on it was not a flavor thing but a prep thing. What I really enjoyed was that the onion they put on were finely minced so when you bit into it you could taste the onion, but it wasn't like you had a mouthful of onion which is never a good thing. Both times when I went in the guys working behind the counter were friendly and I give kudos for that since good customer service is getting harder to come by every day. I will continue to eat here a couple times a month and I've got a sneaky feeling that as I explore their menu more I may have to bump them up to a 5 star review. In addition to the wide variety of hotdogs they also serve burgers, pizza slices, burritos and a few side items and of course soft drinks.

Not your normal beef stand with this cool of an interior groove. Had the hotdog and Italian beef. Poppyseed bun on dog was soft as a Twinkie and the dog was the real deal. It was portioned correctly. It just was very bland compared to what else you can get in Grand Rapids. The chili cheese fries also were not horrible but I wanna say they were great. It is just gas station cheese and chili from a can. Again, not horrible just nothing special. Overall, I probably wouldn't recommend this place but I also want to steer someone away either especially if you are drunk and at the bar across the street. I'm sure it tastes much better. That being said, I think it's a perfect restaurant for its location. There is not a ton of competition directly next-door or across the street. And technically, the Bar across the street has food of a similar quality however it is a nice alternative It's up to you. There's much better places in town for hotdog however, I would give the spot another shot to try the Italian beef. I have heard it is not excellent, but I have not had it Personally.
