When I confronted them about this, they acknowledged that they had been using the wrong traps. They offered to give me 1 free month. I told them that I didn't think it was fair to have paid so much for their service when it did nothing and requested instead to get a full credit of all my payments towards future service since they didn't actually do anything on their previous visits. They stopped returning my calls since then. I've been leaving messages with Chris and he promised to call back on multiple occasions but has not. We are very disappointed. the caulking is extremely thick and poorly applied. The outside look of the house is ruined. some areas shouldn't even have been caulked because the gap was too big. We called the office at 7:55AM and reported it on a voicemail. Returned home at 9PM and the raccoon was still in the trap. We released it ourselves. It had bloody paws and a baby raccoon near by. Day 2: called during business hours for an explanation and was told someone would be out, nothing more. Day 3: a technician came out, re-set the trap with marshmallows??? Day 4: something went inside ate the marshmallows, defecated and left. Day 7: Open trap, no bait and no estimate to fill holes.

Conversation #1: I called them because the condo association for my mother's condo uses this…read morecompany. My mother is a hoarder and when the tech Bruce went out it was wall to wall stuff. I called and talked with Bruce and had to argue and yell at him to get him to email me the prep sheets to get the condo ready for a heat treatment to kill bed bugs. Several times he said "I don't think the prep sheets will help" and "I don't do prep work". I managed to argue him into emailing the prep sheets which I then sent to the vendor cleaning out the condo. Bruce has quite the ego on him, and wanted to be at the condo telling the cleaning crew what they needed to do. Conversation #2: I called Rose Pest and again got Bruce. He must have recognized me based on my mother's address. He told me we could have a nice conversation or he would hang up on me if I was going to yell at him. Well, he was/is the one being fing unprofessional. So in this conversation, his ego again thought he should be at the condo telling the cleaning crew what to do. I told him his company could go out there in 5 or 6 days to look at the condo to see if it was ready for a heat treatment. He doesn't want to talk to my elderly mother. "I'm going to tell her, and then she tells someone else?" "Yes, her children, we talk to her. You can write it down on a piece of paper. She'll have the prep sheets and you can go over them with her." Bottom line, he is still focused on the hoard he saw and that it will never be removed for him to go in with large heat machines and fans to do a treatment. He finally said "Why are you so focused on the prep sheets?" I told him "I had to argue and yell at you to get the prep sheets. That was not good, not good." Then he says: "In a normal living situation they would be relevant." So if I say that in 5 days it should be a normal living situation, his ego doesn't hear it? How unprofessional! Reluctant to share prep sheets with a client! To repeatedly say "I don't do prep work" then in 2nd conversation, say "Oh I do prep work. If more prep work needs to be done I can do a quote". OMG! I'd like to add one item that I didn't mention earlier, while the main issue we were dealing with…read morewas rodents I mentioned to Orkin that we also has been seeing some moths lately and they identified them as 'Indian Meal Moths' which are an invasive species in North America and are becoming a common pest issue. Orkin advised us to get rid of all potential food sources (mainly grains and cereals) or seal them in plastic containers, but they indicated they could also spray for them in cupboards where they were prevalent. That was included in their total price agreed upon, they did not charge extra for it-to their credit. But the spray was really ineffective getting rid of the moths. After a couple of months we were still seeing them (we'd already tossed old cereal boxes and/or packaged them in sealed plastic containers). I did some internet research on this pest and several sites recommended using pheromone traps-it's a cardboard triangular shaped box that gives off a pheromone which attracts the male moths and there is glue on the inside surfaces which traps them. I ordered some of these through the internet, placed them and within 5-6 weeks the moths had disappeared. It's not an instant fix, because it only captures/kills the males and eventually the population disappears from lack of breeding-but it works. Since we were not charged for the Orkin spray I can't complain too much, but once again the technology they use is not as good as what is available if you do a little research online and try the best recommended methods. Orkin are supposed to be the experts in pest control, if customers are finding better information doing internet research on their own what does that tell you? They need to up their game and improve their technology, or they'll be out of business soon.

Following a just OWN IT discussion, they sent Jake and Hunter who actually did something to reseal the house. Jake and Hunter were great. They didn't offer excuses, or suggest another team needed to come out. They got to work. They Owned It! They were fantastic! Thanks to Jake and Hunter, I'm looking forward to a critter free winter.
