Spanning 500 acres,…read morethe land was a former dairy farm and is bordered on the north and south by Stirling Road and Sheridan Street, and on the east and west by University Drive and Pine Island Road. The Shoppes of Monterra Commons is a new mixed use development owned by Diversified Realty Development Company, which is based in Deerfield Beach. Construction began in December 2021 and it looks like they just need to lease a few retail spaces. This development includes over 100,000 square feet of new buildings over 16 acres of land with 700 parking spaces. The development cost over $10 million to complete. In addition to the stores and restaurants, the Shoppes of Monterra also includes a brand new 175-unit Residential Active Adult Community. Current Monterra Commons tenants include a Brightstar Credit Union, Baseball Cards, Culver's, Huey Magoo's, the Learning Experience, First Watch, Crunch Fitness, Oaxaka, and Cali Coffee. Coming soon is Tide Laundry, Gyromama, and Playa Bowls. There is currently empty leasing space for other businesses. I tried out the Cali Coffee and Blueprint Cookies and loved both. I was surprised to see how busy it was here so it is clearly filling a need in the community. It is interesting to see new development come to what I considered a dead end area of Cooper City. It was only a matter of time before this last large parcel of Broward County was developed. Hopefully Cooper City residents are going to like what they put in.

I love Broward Mall! I've been coming here for over 20 years, and it's changed quite a bit over…read morethat time. One of the biggest improvements was the addition of the movie theater, and the interior has been renovated to feel much more modern, bright, and clean. Many of the longtime anchor stores are still here, although some of the smaller boutique shops have come and gone over the years. I also appreciate that there are now a couple of kid-friendly attractions, including a children's museum and an indoor play center. They're great additions for families and are very reasonably priced. The parking lot is large, with multiple entrances around the property, so it's easy to access the mall from just about any direction. There is still some construction in one section of the parking lot that seems like it's been there for quite a while. I haven't seen much activity recently, so I'm not sure if the project is still ongoing. Fortunately, it's limited to one area and doesn't really affect the overall shopping experience. The mall itself is a nice size. It's not overwhelmingly large, but it's definitely not small either. Everything is indoors, making it a great place to shop, walk around, or spend a few hours, especially during Florida's hot or rainy weather. Overall, Broward Mall has done a great job modernizing while keeping many of the stores and features that have made it a local favorite for years.

During the weekdays there rarely many children playing. Weekends are obviously more crowded but fun for the kids as long as the guardians are supervising their own little ones. There is an area for parking strollers and storing shoes. The play area was clean and I didn't observe anything that looked dangerous for climbing and playing. This is a great FREE indoor space for those Plantation days when the weather is not great outside.

The Harbor Shops is an outdoor shopping plaza built in 2005 in Ft. Lauderdale near Port Everglades…read more It is tucked off of 17th Street Causeway on Cordova Rd. It's proximity to the port and the Embassy Suites Hotel means that it gets a influx of tourists as well as locals looking for services, retail, and dining. The Harbor Shops are convenient to other top Ft. Lauderdale destinations like the beach and Las Olas Boulevard. The businesses in the Harbor Shops are arranged in an open air complex with a Key West architectural vibe and nautical theme. Parking is in the center. The plaza is anchored by a Publix. I have been here many times through the years, most recently to eat at Gilbert's 17th Street Grill. Other reasonably priced restaurants here include Joe's Cafe, Indian Harbor, Duffy's, 5 Guys Burgers and Fries, and La Bamba. Shopping choices include TJ Maxx along with boutiques. There is an Ace Hardware Store, Total Wine and More, Massage Envy, Chase Bank, and Orange Theory Fitness. You can run errands and enjoy a meal all in one place. Whether you want a great meal, are a local ticking off your to do list, or are a visitor picking up travel essentials, The Harbor Shops will have just what you need.

This Publix-anchored outdoor, open air mall offers free parking and driving here is easily accessible. It's close to Port Everglades, the Fort Lauderdale Airport, hotels, and other SE 17th street businesses. The mall has a variety of stores and shops. Everything is here from groceries to a hardware store to clothing to wine. It offers service salons where you could get your hair cut or your nails done or even a massage. The mall gets a lot of pre and post cruise business. It's popular, so some times parking can be challenging. I've probably been here the most for the different restaurants -- from burgers to sushi. When I worked nearby and the weather was nice, I'd come for lunch and then stroll by the shops.
