One of the biggest improvements was the addition of the movie theater, and the interior has been renovated to feel much more modern, bright, and clean. Many of the longtime anchor stores are still here, although some of the smaller boutique shops have come and gone over the years. I also appreciate that there are now a couple of kid-friendly attractions, including a children's museum and an indoor play center. They're great additions for families and are very reasonably priced. The parking lot is large, with multiple entrances around the property, so it's easy to access the mall from just about any direction. There is still some construction in one section of the parking lot that seems like it's been there for quite a while. I haven't seen much activity recently, so I'm not sure if the project is still ongoing. Fortunately, it's limited to one area and doesn't really affect the overall shopping experience. The mall itself is a nice size. It's not overwhelmingly large, but it's definitely not small either. Everything is indoors, making it a great place to shop, walk around, or spend a few hours, especially during Florida's hot or rainy weather. Overall, Broward Mall has done a great job modernizing while keeping many of the stores and features that have made it a local favorite for years.

During the weekdays there rarely many children playing. Weekends are obviously more crowded but fun for the kids as long as the guardians are supervising their own little ones. There is an area for parking strollers and storing shoes. The play area was clean and I didn't observe anything that looked dangerous for climbing and playing. This is a great FREE indoor space for those Plantation days when the weather is not great outside.

Other businesses include Ross Dress For Less, Planet Fitness, Five Below, and Dollar Tree, Thai Meal, Wing Stop, Dr. David K. Morris Podiatry, H& R Block, Wong's, Barber, Game Stop, Marumi Sushi, and Smoothie King. I came to try out the brand new Tea Lab and ended up staying for lunch at Rob's Bagel and shopping at the Clothes Mentor. This plaza has a great mix of shopping, restaurants, and services. The plaza is all outside so it is sad to see so many for lease signs. I enjoy shopping in this plaza because of the Total Wine location and the Kohls where I go to do my Amazon returns. Parking is never a problem unless you wish to park close to the doors where it is a little difficult from the employees who take many of those spaces. Getting in and out of this plaza is quite easy as there is a signal light off of University Drive and the other exits all have stop signs. There is a Tesla charging station in the furthest south part of the plaza which seems to be very popular.

They have the fastest merchandise and the hottest styles for a discount store. On this visit, there were many employees restocking the shelves and they already seemed to be pretty full. I love their shoe selection and prices. Their men's department is not super big but there is a good variety. Their children's clothing and toys area seems to be their largest focus and it takes up a good part of the Marshall's side. There is only one checkout area for both Marshall's and Home Goods so the line gets very long at peak times which is why I try to get in before lunchtime to look for my bargain buys.

I prefer riding my bicycle throughout the main Las Olas Blvd or Ubering to the area then walking to the bars and eateries. Las Olas is only two miles long to the east beach and construction is always in progress. Some of my favorite places in Las Olas is the Voodoo Bayou, WorthWyld and Roccos Tacos. The newly constructed Wayne Huizenga Park is an open area to walk near the New River and a few bars. The skyscraper condos along the New River cost 1M+ but have the views of yachts and river with the many ammenities of Las Olas Blvd only steps away.
