The main reason for our recommendation however is the excellent customer service received. We felt compelled to post our experience after reading some reviews of "less than satisfactory" in that department. Every single person there, from the person who met us at the door to the installer; all were welcoming, attentive and professional. The building is quite large, a person could get lost in there - and I did! More than one employee cheerfully stopped what he was doing to help me find the waiting area, coffee and bathrooms. No one made me feel like an idiot for being lost or an irritation for interrupting work. Technology has improved over the years regarding the powder coating problems and perhaps reading "customer service" reviews has improved them in that area as well. Having been treated with kindness and respect we'd recommend doing business with Buckstop from start to finish.

Buckstop has a pretty good reputation for the selling a good quality product. I spent 20 plus days attempting to put a bumper together. Left phone messages, web form request and emails for both Dorian (owner) and Tristan without return replies. I eventually received a response from Dorian. No apology etc... but the he did answer my questions. I sent 3 more emails in attempt to order the bumper assembly-finalize the purchase- this was a $3500 order. After a week still no reply. I gave up and ordered from ARB. I would hesitate doing business with this company. I can't imagine what one might have to go through should a problem arise.

And then my wife inherited her family's antique water pump. It is about a century old and needed restoration badly. About four feet high, it had been a functioning part of the family's Midwestern home for her entire life until they moved to California. It was a priceless heirloom piece... and encrusted with corrosion and many layers of dangerous lead paint. I quickly concluded that doing the restoration myself would be potentially hazardous to me as well as to Bend's environment. I was daunted by the prospect of keeping the hazardous waste from getting loose in the air, ground, and even the Deschutes River. I brought the pump into Commercial Powder Coating to get a sense of whether they would be able to help. I am so glad that I did that. They let me know that this was feasible, gave me a (very reasonable) quote on the spot, and took it into their shop the same day. They had a wall full of coating color samples, and out of the handful they selected, my wife chose the very first: Cardinal Red. Two weeks later, I got an email from them indicating that it was ready. I was thrilled to see the results. They had restored this pump to a condition that I'd surmise is better than its original state, painted by hand in a dust Midwestern yard a century ago. They even added an extra top coat to protect it even further from fading. This was a truly great experience on all levels. Don't let the "Commercial" in the title scare you off if you are not a commercial customer. Their handling of this antique water pump's restoration was what I'd consider to be the work of artisans. And their rates are beyond reasonable! Thanks, guys--you did something really special with this one. Family is everything, and you helped connect my family's future generations solidly to the past with this beautiful restoration.
