I took the Project Management Academy PMP exam prep course in Dallas, TX the week on Jan 27-30, 2020. My instructor was Jackie Ockleberry. ***VERY IMPORTANT TO READ AND UNDERSTAND THE FOLLOWING BEFOR PROCEEDING*** ***If you do not have a decent grasp of The PMBOK Guide I don't recommend spending the money on this yet. Get experience and training, THEN take this course. I have taken several certification exams over my career and this was by far the most technically difficult exam I have ever taken. I highly recommend taking PMA exam prep course.*** The registration process was very simple and I had immediate access to all the learning materials so I was able to browse a bit. I quickly scanned this stuff, but it really came in handy after the course. Website was very easy to navigate! The training location was a Hilton Garden Inn in a very spacious meeting room. I believe there were 10 others there for training. Our instructor was great! She is a natural teacher and gave real world examples throughout the training. She did exactly what PMA claims - she taught how to effectively take the exam! This is NOT a Project Management Training course, although we covered the entire PMBOK, it is a course to teach you how to take the exam. (I know I am saying that a lot, but I promise it will make sense when you take the course) Another thing our instructor did was teach us how to actually apply to take the exam as well - the PMI application can seem daunting, but she helped break it down where it was very easy to understand. I submitted my application to PMI the day following the prep course, received my authorization to test the following Wednesday, scheduled my exam for 2/27/2020 and passed on my first try - ABOVE target on all domains! That's why this is probably the longest review I have ever written! I will definitely be using PMA in the future! read more

Let's get straight to the point. This course absolutely works in not only passing the PMP exam (my main goal), but also truly providing understanding of the content conceptually. I took a 4 day boot camp in mid-July that was facilitated by Jackie Ockleberry. The following are a the primary benefits of the course that contributed to my success: 1). First and foremost was our teacher Jackie, also referred to as "Jackie-O". She thoroughly explained the various concepts, provided realistic examples, went through numerous exercises for critical path and equations, and really fostered an environment where many individuals felt comfortable enough to ask questions. 2). The PMA course portal contains lots of great resources, from topic specific quizzes, flash cards, scenario-based question banks, and times mock exams, and many exercises for equations, terms, concepts, and critical path. 3). The quick study reference guides were a huge help to refer back to for those areas where I may not have been that comfortable. Little by little, I referred to those reference guides less and less. In the end, I think if you follow the program, take enough practice questions and timed exams, this course has a solid roadmap to not only pass the PMP, but really provide conceptual understanding. And if you have the option to choose Jackie as your facilitator, I would highly recommend. read more

I participated in a 4 day PMA "Boot Camp" for the PMP Exam led by Jackie Ockleberry which completed on December 19, 2013. I passed the PMP Exam on January 6, 2014 on my first try, 21 days later, after intensive study. A strong point of PMA is that Jackie provided a realistic understanding of the test content and what it would take to pass in terms of self study. The class is very fast paced and gives a comprehensive overview of the test. The content that you receive as part of taking the course, including approximately 70 hours of videos over the entire course content, is excellent. Without this class I would never have understood what would be required to pass, let alone how to study effectively. Even with the class, the study effort afterwards was extremely challenging and time consuming (for me - skill sets obviously differ). I highly recommmend it, and specifically with this instructor. She had all of the content memorized and was conversant about each and every detail of the PMBOK, which is truly remarkable. As a side note, gaining your PMP Certification is not just a good thing to do for your resume. The content was extremely useful to me despite having been a project manager for 15 years. Hi. I was fortunate to be able to attend the Project Management Academy Class in Grand Prairie April 2016 and wanted to share my experience. First, the course was extremely well put together. Clearly, PMA has put a large emphasis on having a professional program that is planned out from start to finish with the very latest material. I was impressed by the organization of the course, and how it complemented the PMBOK without just replicating it. I also was impressed with the level of instruction - John D. had plenty of industry experience and related examples from his past into the material. This gave him credibility and helped the material to sink in. I ended up taking the exam about a month after the class ended, and I found the handouts and study aids to be an enormous help. Just studying those handouts and study aids covered over half the material on the test alone. The other positive I found was going back to the web site to use the flash cards and the practice exams. I passed the exam, but let me tell you - it was tough. I don't think there is any fool-proof way to pass it - but I can tell you that without going through this week of training I would not have passed. read more

I took the Project Management Academy course with Jackie Ockleberry the last week of September 2018 and passed the test. This course was extremely helpful and absolutely pivotal to my success on the exam. Jackie presented the material very articulately and lets each of her students know what he/she must do in order to pass the exam in their given time frame. Please note that when taking this course and scheduling your PMP test: course success is not only dependent on course attendance but is also very much dependent on your individual commitment outside of class. There is a lot of self study required - and it is recommended that you take at least 4 practice exams outside of class (at 4 hours a piece). If your test date is right after the course, prepare yourself for a long 4 days in class - and working late into the night to complete the self study / practice exams you need in order to get the most out of the course. That being said, given my time constraints, I took the 4 day course and my exam was 2 days later and it worked out great. I took PMA's PMP boot camp with Jackie Ockleberry this past July, and am so glad that I did! Although it took me another few months to finally commit to an exam date, I passed the exam on my first try. The PMA boot camp was an important piece of the PMP preparation puzzle for me. I took the boot camp without any prior review of the PMBOK or PMP materials, but came out of those four days feeling like I had been given a very solid foundation upon which to build towards taking the exam. I was surprised when I started reading the PMBOK how many concepts it does not address that the boot camp covered in detail. I am very thankful to PMA for putting together a boot camp that gives students such a thorough and comprehensive platform from which to pursue taking the exam. Jackie was a fantastic instructor - she made the material accessible and comprehensible. Her commitment to teaching the material was apparent during the boot camp, and certainly made me feel more invested in learning it as I studied for the exam. read more

I strongly recommend the PMP Boot Camp Courses with PMA. Jjacqueline Ockleberry taught the course, and her organization and professionalism was outstanding. Jackie fostered an interactive participatory environment, which allowed the student to progress past memorization to understanding, and problem solving. By providing all the necessary training information and encouraging participation, she allowed me to prepare for the more difficult portions of the exam in a way which allowed me to deal with "trick" questions because I had a higher level of understanding if the material in the WAY PMI wants you to understand it. I took the PMP test a little over a week after my course, and passed with highest marks in all knowledge areas the first time. Because PMI requires 35 hours of training (without regard for your level of real world experience) I recommend this course to meet that requirement, and to understand the PMI v.s. your real world experience differences which you need to ace the exam. read more

I took the PMA PMP Course in December 2020 virtually with Jackie Ockleberry. It was the last bootcamp being offered before the test changed in 2021. I was a little worried the quality of the bootcamp/instructor might be less than up to par as a result but I needed to be prepared and ready to take the exam within 10 days. My worries were completely unfounded. Jackie is a terrific instructor. Her delivery helped to cement the notion of understanding the processes (as opposed to rote memorization) and was very effective at helping to logically deduce how the processes (and the inputs/outputs) flowed together. The EVM concepts which I struggled with initially eventually became strong points (I was hoping for more questions on the exam) since Jackie taught how to understand what the questions were actually asking for. The "Jackie O" test strategy was also right on point. Highly recommend PMA and Jackie for your PMP testing needs. read more

PMA and Jackie Oakleberry are the one, two punch for knocking out the PMP exam! I attended the 2-5 Feb class in Dallas. Passed my exam on 2 Mar. The PMA process is complete and as user friendly as PMBOK material can be. I followed the process as PMA lined out and followed the advice Jackie provided. Passed the exam first time. (This test is a bear! And I am great at taking test.) The web site is easy to use and provides several different tools to help pre-class and most importantly with the post class/pre-exam review and study. The class room materials were high quality and useful. Jackie did an outstanding job of framing, then then filling in a large volume of information. She did a great job of keeping it moving and staying on point. I am very happy I choose PMA and got Jackie as an instructor to help me achieve this certification. By the way, it is not easy, but you get a great sense of accomplishment when you pass the exam. read more

I passed on the first attempt thanks to the invaluable study materials and tips shared during and after the prep course. I took the PMP Boot Camp Course by Project Management Academy 12/8/202. My instructor, Jackie Ockleberry was fantastic. I took the exam and passed on the first try! Jackie was the key to my success, she is extremely knowledgeable on the material. She also shared with us the perfect study strategy and testing mindset to be able to pass the exam. She really teaches the information in a way everyone can understand/relate to by sharing some of her real life experiences, and coming up with neat acronym tricks for us to remember! I took a 4-day boot camp in Dallas June 3-6, 2019 and sat down for my PMP exam on June 14, 2019 (a week after finishing the boot camp). I passed the exam successfully, scored above average in all knowledge areas. I would highly recommend Project Management Academy and Jackie Ockleberry (who was my instructor at the boot camp) to anyone who wants to pass the PMP exam on their first try. I found that the actual exam was so much easier than practice tests that Project Management Academy offers. In fact, after completing the 100 situational questions on the PMA Portal (the day before I sat down for the PMP exam), I was convinced that I wouldn't pass the actual exam and I'd have to study more. Jackie is extremely knowledgeable about all things related to Project Management. She has experience in the industry which helps take the material from the page to real life. I took part in the PMP Boot Camp from Project Management Academy in Dallas (Aug 8-11, 2016) . Our instructor was Phillip Jackson. The whole course was totally based on PMBOK and the instructor presented and explained in a way we could understand and also retain a lot of it. His experience provided some real life anecdotes that helped us understand the material and remember the significance. The course is geared towards passing the exam. I passed the exam on Sep 2nd. I studied the material provided by PMA and referenced the PMBOK whenever I needed a detailed explanation. Took the PMA practice tests 4 times, brushing up on missed topics each time until i got 89% and then scheduled the Prometric test at the end of the week. I would recommend PMA for anyone who is serious about the PMP exam. The Boot camp definitely works. read more

I highly recommend Project Management Academy - Educate360 as a training source for the PMP Exam. I completed the boot-camp course (in-person) in August 2024, and sat for the exam December 2024, passing on the FIRST ATTEMPT. Jackie Ockleberry did a great job of making the content digestible and giving us study nuggets to answer the test questions in a practical way. The boot camp environment was comfortable, the content was structured, and the online course materials were EXTREMELY helpful. If I had to provide "some" constructive criticism for the program, I think since the PMP Exam was revamped to include more of the agile methodologies, there should be a little more focus on that in the training. I had the opportunity to sit for Boot Camp back in 2018 but never could take time to sit for the exam. Once my work load allowed me the time, I sat for Boot Camp again, in 2020 during the Dallas Ice Storm. Knowing the test criteria had changed from my first time, I felt that taking the class again could help me refresh as well as learn something new. On June 14th of 2021, I took the PMP Exam for a second time and successfully passed. It was the most difficult exam I have ever taken in my life and even more difficult for someone that has been out of school for 45 years! I truly give 100% of the credit for being prepared to Jackie Ockleberry for the Boot Camp Instruction and the suggested study techniques.
