We were looking for a very specific SAT tutor for our daughter and Varsity Tutors led us to believe that they had that tutor in their network. So we signed up for a package of 16 hours per month at a cost of $989.10. However, the tutor they assigned was not the tutor we were searching for, and unfortunately the person assigned was not qualified--our daughter actually had to correct him during the session. After using only one hour, we contacted Varsity Tutors to request a refund for the remaining 15 unused hours. That's when we were told that their "Buyer's Remorse" period had expired. This was the first time we heard this policy existed. At no point during enrollment did anyone mention a 24-hour buyer's remorse window. We even offered a compromise: They could keep 50% of the payment, even though we used just one hour out of sixteen. They still said no. Parents deserve transparency when choosing support for their children's education. Unfortunately, Varsity Tutors relies on unclear advertising, assigns suboptimal tutors, and enforces refund policies they never disclose. Buyer Beware.

He completed his last class in April, yet we were charged again in May despite receiving no services. When I contacted them, they claimed it was a membership fee and refused a refund--even though this fee was never disclosed upfront. To make matters worse, one month they charged me $50 more than usual, which makes no sense if it's a flat "membership" fee. The tutor assigned to my son frequently canceled or rescheduled, which made it hard to maintain any consistent progress. This company has been unprofessional, misleading, and unreliable. If you're looking for a transparent, quality tutoring service, I strongly recommend going elsewhere.
