She had her very first formal gown altered by Pat at just five years old--and Pat continued to tailor her dresses all the way through her final prom. Fast forward to 2025, my sweet niece was getting married, and this time it was Auntie who needed a gown altered! I knew the day had come for Pat to retire...and I was beyond thrilled when I learned Amy had taken over the business. This review is for Alterations by Amy! Amy is the best - she learned from the best & I am so happy to spend the next 25+ years as her client...when my niece has children...we will bring them to Amy! Amy! Amy! Amy!!! What can't you do!?!?! She totally transformed my very formal evening gown into the most stunning one-shoulder gown, perfect for my niece's outdoor summer wedding. She removed the long train, converted the buttoned halter neckline into an elegant one-shoulder design, and even added cups for shape and support - no separate bra needed! (Ladies!!! IYKYK!) The fit and finish were flawless, and the transformation was beyond my expectations. What amazed me most was that Amy made all these alterations the day before I was scheduled to leave for the wedding. She worked quickly and professionally, completing everything while I waited--and she even hemmed my husband's linen pants at the very last minute! The pricing was so reasonable, especially considering the level of craftsmanship, speed, and care she put into every detail. If you ever need alterations...big or small...Amy is the one to trust. I was really impressed with the variety in styles and sizes they had for wedding dresses. With the help of Amy and Brittany, I ended finding quite literally my dream dress. Though I did not end up getting any alterations here, I am certain that Pat would have done a fabulous job!! 10/10 would recommend going here. I had searched for a talented tailor who could mend together my tattered blue denim shirt. Enter Lynda Ballard, the manager of said alteration & tailoring company, who greeted me with a velvety voice. My long-sleeve top, missing two buttons down the middle with sleeves that no longer fit, was assessed by Ms. Ballard herself. Lynda, who noted my sleeves needing more length, offered up a patch of material matching my shirt's fabric nearly identically. The assignment, as they say, was understood. A week later, voyage 2nd, I drove back for the booty: my clothing article paid off, thanks to the marvel of Cash App. By the end, yours truly came out a stronger person with an innovatively fixed 'writer's shirt' who made 2 friends: Lynda & her son. The accommodating staff had lent me a (maybe not) public restroom twice. Stitch and Fit may be quite the trek from metro ATL, but that is the only quibble I can muster from my appraisal of a tailoring co. that I'm glad to have learned about.

There was a changing room for me to change into the dress so the nice woman doing the alterations could mark where she needed to make the dress shorter. It really took no time at all and she was very friendly. The dress was ready in less than a week but it was very expensive! My dress has two layers so maybe that is why it cost $70 (plus a $10 tip I added) to get the dress altered. She did an amazing job, so it is definitely worth it but dang...$70 seems high!

Dug in my closet and found something from 20 years ago, took it to her at the last minute and Ms Wanda was able to perform a miracle for me. I only gave her 2 weeks and she had it back to me in a week. Wanda had to do hems on two layers of pant. Top layer was sheer. Not a simple thing to do and have a perfect match. Lace top was enlarged. Not a simple thing to do! I've sewed for many many many years and just can't do it any longer. So I will say the finished product was perfectly done. That makes a difference in how a garment fits and lays on you. There are people that don't understand what it takes to alter garments. From my experience if a place puts you off, is cluttered, keeps delaying, over promises, does not double check their measurements with you and make sure you clearly understand what to expect then run don't walk and find a professional.

I bought a new dress online for a specific event that I was traveling for. It was a cream colored…read moreknit dress with beading. When it arrived it had blue stains all over it. I was devastated. I brought the dress to sterling cleaners to see if they could work some magic and get the blue dye stains out- I really didn't think it was possible. I also needed to pick up the dress the next day in time for my trip. They were soo nice and helpful! The man took it and did a quick spot check to see if they could get it out & was successful, so I left it along with another dress to be cleaned. There were several of these blue spots all over the dress... & They were able to get them ALL out and have it ready in time for my vacation! I honestly cannot believe they were able to fix it & have it ready in time! I am sooo thankful and truly recommend them to anyone! They were nice, helpful, professional and worked some magic!!
