One word: GO! I went to Pat's with the goal of either altering my OG wedding dress because I just didn't love it or getting something else. I spoke with Pat about my ideas for alterations and she was very helpful with her recommendations. I then spent some time looking at their consigned items. I was really impressed with the variety in styles and sizes they had for wedding dresses. With the help of Amy and Brittany, I ended finding quite literally my dream dress. Though I did not end up getting any alterations here, I am certain that Pat would have done a fabulous job!! 10/10 would recommend going here. It was about an hour and a half drive for me but SO worth it and I could not be happier with the dress I picked out. I'll post photos of the dress once we get pictures taken. A friend recommended Pat's apparel to me many months ago and this is the only place I will take my clothing to get alterations. Being a female in a male dominated industry, there are certain pant uniform alterations that are needed. Before going here, the places I tried before all told me they couldn't help me. Pat's apparel has been the only place to fix what I needed and they did a fantastic job each time! Before I wrote my post, I looked at some of the other reviews on this site and I have to say, the times I've been in the store, I have always been treated professionally and I've never seen the behavior two people posted about. We all have our own experiences but it's hard to imagine Pat or her daughter treating anyone the way 2 reviewers described. I just can't see it. Mrs. Pat, if you read these, thank you for all you do. I was looking for an alterations place to get my wedding dress altered (bustle & taken in at the bust line a bit) and refused to get alterations done at David's Bridal. They are over priced and insist that need to keep my dress at a minimum 6 weeks for alterations. NO THANK YOU. I came across Pat's Apparel when I was doing a Yelp search and am so happy that I did. After reading all of the positive reviews and checking out her Facebook page (which is actually maintained and updated frequently) I figured it wouldn't hurt to go to stop by a get a FREE alterations quote. BOY, AM I GLAD I DID :) Her shop is completely adorable. It is filled with basically anything you could ever ask for when it comes to dresses (veils, jewelry, undergarments, tiaras, etc) definitely a one stop shop. They also rent out tuxes for a way more reasonable price than Men's Warehouse and offer a better color selection to compliment David's Bridal, FYI. Upon entering her establishment I was immediately welcomed by Amy, who turns out to be Pat's son's fiance (it's good old ma & pa run company). Amy is gem and answered every single one of my questions re: tux rentals. After speaking with her I will be canceling my tux rentals at Men's Warehouse and will be getting them from Pat. I put on my wedding dress (along w/ my two bridesmaids in their dresses) and Pat walked through step by step the things we would need to get altered along with prices. VERY REASONABLE. I am a bride on a TIGHT budget and even I was pleasantly surprised at the prices. Even better, Pat's turnaround time for dresses is about 2 weeks. She does this b/c she knows brides bodies will be going through a lot of changes the closer the wedding gets and she wants to make sure to get the most accurate measurements as possible. Pat knows her stuff. I was on the fence about adding a sash to my dress but after 5 mins of Pat inspecting my dress, she suggested I pass on the sash and explained exactly why. I loved that. Pat is completely wonderful and extremely helpful. She, like Amy, took the time to answer all of my questions and was very informative. I am so happy that I found Pat's. I will be getting my dress altered there late July (getting married in August). If you are looking for a knowledgeable, thorough and friendly place to get alterations done, then Pat and her family are the place to go. I had my wedding reception dress altered here. All I asked was for a little fabric taken off the bottom, the straps taken in a little, and some cups sewn in. And they did perfect with all of it! It really was well priced for all the work they did ( I believe it was $100 for everything). And was done in a timely fashion. My dress came out perfect! I was very pleased with my experience here and would definitely come here again for any alteration needs in the future. read more

I do not recommend this business or Pat to do your wedding alterations. Pat forgot to alter the belt onto my best friend's wedding dress. On top of that, there are loose threads hanging, random holes, and random marks on the dress. They handed the dress over to the bride with safety pins in it. Really. Pat said she would fix these problems, but apparently got sick and never notified my best friend that the job could not be done. The bride's mother called the store consistently and they would ignore the phone calls each time. When she finally did get someone to answer, they were unapologetic and admitted the alterations were TERRIBLE and they would NEVER let Pat work on their own daughter's dress. Isn't that lovely? Pat promised to make it right and she failed. So here we are. Less than a month from the wedding and the dress is a disaster. Do not waste your money at this establishment. read more

One of my best friends is getting married in 2 weeks. She went Thursday to pick up her dress and it couldn't be located for almost 30 mins. When is was finally located alterations had not even been started. She was promised the dress would be ready Saturday. She went back and the dress was too SHORT!!! She was told to come back today. She did, was given attitude by the lady and the dress is "still not right, but wearable ". She had her shoes picked out and because this lady messed up big time she has to go find new shoes. A bride should never say their dress is "wearable"!!! But I guess because she was given a 50.00 discount all is well.....my friend is too nice, I wish I had gone with her cause a lot more than FIFTY FREAKING DOLLARS would have been done!!! Do not waste your time with these unprofessional idiots. I actually brought several items to be altered. The seamstress measured and pinned. They wrote up a ticket and held on to the items for a entire only to tell me basically that the measurements that the seamstress had taken wouldn't work. You wait the day before pick up to tell me you can't do it??? Save your money and find someone better. read more

Thank you so much to Pat and Pat's apparel! I am in a wedding next weekend in WY, Bride lives in MN and my bridesmaid dress was shipped to me from there. My greatest fear was finding a local seamstress who could quickly alter my dress with a full sequin top. Pat's was the right place to go! Not only was Pat able to alter my dress quickly, but when I went to try on my dress on Friday and there was a fit issue (due to some weird boning in the dress not working well with added cups, no fault of Pat's), she was able to fix it for me ON THE SPOT. Since I'm leaving Tuesday morning I didn't have a lot of time for changes so her quick work was greatly appreciated. My dress fits beautifully and I am so happy. Not only was my wedding dress misplaced and not ready on time but it was hemmed too short and after being let out several more times was still too short. I was only given a $50 discount for my trouble and my alterations still cost a little over $200. I will never set foot in this store again my mom is now attempting to fix this mistake before my wedding in two weeks as well as trying to fix several other blunders we discovered after leaving the store and inspecting the dress more closely! We were having a wedding next door and one of the groomsmen split their pants during photos, and Pat's quickly helped us rectify the situation and get back to the important things that day! Very Rude! Just awful. No bride should cry when she sees the awful, uneven, and 5" to long hem on her dress. From the moment I walked into Pat's, Customers were screaming at them. I was so worried to leave my dress. I should have left right away. Pat brushed off extreme mistakes, like no big deal. Then treated me like I had done her wrong. I was so sad about my "once in a lifetime" dress. To end our relationship forever, she told me to keep my mouth shut. Yea, Sorry Ma'am, I will not keep my mouth shut. Pat also puts comments on reviews that say it is the fault of the customer. Let me just say from the gate. I never cussed at this woman. I never raised my voice at her. I had always passed this business on my way to Walmart but never stopped in. I recently purchased a dress (Bridesmaid) that needed alterations done and remembered seeing the sign on their store that said alterations done here. When I entered the store I was greeted by such a friendly staff. I believe her name was Amy. I explained what I needed and was given an appointment to come back the next day. I was invited to look around the store but due to being in a hurry I didn't. When I went back the next for my appointment Pat, the owner greeted me and took very good care of me. She was so sweet and caring. I was so glad I chose this place over the others I had seen. I have complete confidence that my dress will be what I need and it's only going to take 2 weeks rather than a month to finish. I recommend this place to all for clothing needs and jewelry. EXCELLENT service. We took up 2 hours deciding between jackets, shirts, ties and shoes, but the staff was incredibly patient with us!! And their prices are better than the chain stores in ATL. Also, there's a warehouse down the street, so if there's anything wrong with your order, it can be quickly fixed. Great experience here! read more

I've used them several times in the past for minor alterations...pants hemmed. Pat didn't do the work herself, but instead sent the work out. Most of the time, the pants were perfect, but on 2 occasions, the hem was very, very sloppy and the stitching didn't even actually "hem" the pant...it was just stitched to the pant without actually hemming the folded material. I didn't notice it until I got home and I was too lazy to take back to the store and wait for it to be corrected. Instead, I simply stitched it myself. I feel confident that if I had alerted them to the problem that they would have rectified it immediately. Again, it was just me being lazy. That problem aside, I would recommend them. I have a friend that gets their pants hemmed in Acworth, GA and they pay more for the exact same work. So the pricing is fair, as well. read more

I rented a tux from them to attend inaugural events in DC. Having never been to a black tie affair before, I was a little uncertain about which tux's and accessories were appropriate. The owner did an excellent job of explaining everything and making sure the measurements were right and that I was happy with my choice. The timeframe was tight but they got my order in right away and as promised, my tux arrived in time. On top of all that, they were some of the nicest and friendliest people ever. read more

I have never posted a negative review online, but I am very disappointed after spending $500 on a dress and alterations at Pat's. We have used Pat's for years but don't plan to go back. My daughter picked out a prom dress that was 2 sizes too big because one of the associates there told her they altered a size 16 dress down to fit a size 4. I thought that was probably a stretch but we only needed it taken down from an 8 to a 4. She tried it on and showed it to Pat who assured us she could take in the sides to make it fit and even explained how she would make the alterations. When we went back for alterations it was a different story. She did very little to make it any snugger on her bodice and charged $180 for alterations! I would have been okay with $180 but the dress was still too big on her chest. She had prom last night and unfortunately left soon after it started because she was uncomfortable. If she didn't stand straight up the entire time you could see down the front of her dress. We are very disappointed with the entire experience! read more

My daughter called me @ 11am crying because she had just been informed her dress was too short for the Hiram High School Cadet ball. I immediately called Pat's Apparel and spoke with Amy and explained my problem. She assured me that we would find something and they would make it work with alternations too. My daughter and I arrived at 11:30am and the team quickly started working with us. Amy and the team was very aware of the requirements for the cadet ball and begin finding dresses she could make work. We finally found a dress but it was too small in the burst. Amy consulted with the seamstress and they added a corset to the back of the dress and new sleeves. The best part is the dress was ready by 3:45pm. Amazing experience!!!!! Save yourself some stress and go elsewhere. so many issues I don't even know where to start. Firstly, I took my dress there to have it altered and a sash sewed onto it when I went to pick it up the belt was sewed on CROOKED!!! My daughters bridesmaid dress was altered and when she tried it on it was as if it hadn't been altered at all so we had to leave it again to be fixed. When I picked up my daughters dress she wasn't with me and wasn't able to try it on again. I assumed since it was left to be fixed it would be all good, WRONG! Unfortunately she didn't get to put it on until we were out of town for the wedding and we were in a mad dash trying to pin that thing because it appeared that no one had even tried fixing it after it had been left for several weeks. The last straw for me was when my husband went to get fitted for his suit, he called and told me he felt like his suit was gonna be messed up, because the woman who did his measurements was very unprofessional(Brenda). I told him there was no way they would mess up the suit I mean they literally take measurements and put them on a paper right?? So...we go to pick the suit up the day before we leave for our destination wedding and my husband tries it on... WRONG SIZE VEST and the pants he got weren't even hemmed!!! How the heck does that happen??? I will tell you how, Brenda ordered my 6'0 230 pound husband a medium vest!! I was furious, and freaking out because we had to leave in the morning for our wedding. I will say that the gentleman who also works there made it right and went to the suit shop and got us the right sized vest, and Pat was able to hem the pants which I was extremely happy about. I just feel like after you spend close to $500 getting items altered and ordered you should be completely satisfied. Not scrambling around a day before your wedding, trying to pin a dress that you paid 86 dollars to be altered so that your kids lady parts aren't hanging out during one of the most important days of your life. read more

Oh my goodness. Avoid this place and Pat like the plague!! Upon reading her other reviews, I think it's already completely unprofessional and distasteful to respond to upset customers by pointing out they've left bad reviews at other places. That has NOTHING to do with the low level of service that your own business exudes. However, my issue lies with my BEST FRIENDS wedding dress. It was dropped off with plenty of time before her November wedding. We called Pat to follow up about a week or two ago and she was sketchy with the details. I just saw the dress that my best friend picked up and it is atrocious. The stitching is ripped, threads are hanging a over the place, there are random holes, there is a HUGE safety pin just dangling like a "top bad so sad, figure it out" type situation. It's like we were given a messed up puzzle to fix on our own. It's ridiculous. When we called, we were ignored. When my best friends mom called numerous times, she too was ignored. Ms. Pat conveniently became "sick" and couldnt fix her dress, however I just learned from another patron that she was working on her dress as of yesterday. WOW. And the other workers were so unhelpful over the phone. One even admitted it looked bad! Save your time, money, and sanity and avoid this place. Seriously!! Do not let your wedding day be in shambles due to this woman and her horrible establishment. My best friend is in literal tears as she looks at this dress for her most special day. I grew up with a grandmother and aunt who were amazing seamstresses so I know exactly how the detail is supposed to look and be handled, and ms pat is the opposite. read more

Recommended by some of my colleagues in the West Georgia area, I came to Pat's Apparel needing to have my wedding dress taken in nearly 5 dress sizes! As suggested by a big box wedding dress vendor, I was expecting to start my dress alterations nearly five months before my wedding and needing close to six weeks to complete the alteration process. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised when Pat suggested I wait to approximately three to four weeks before my wedding day to bring the dress to her for alterations. Where to begin? I recently married the love of my life on Saturday, October 27, 2012. I chose to have my dress altered by Pat simply by finding her online. She was near my house, and after speaking to her directly on the phone, I decided to bring my dress in for her to take a look. She immediately knew exactly what needed to be done. She started pinning away and explaining what she was doing every step of the way. Once finished, I changed and brought my dress out to find she had already wrote up a quote for the price along with a thorough description of each alteration and cost. I left excited to pick up my dress in only 1 week. Admittedly so, I chose a difficult dress with a lot of layering, etc. But after 2 more fittings with Pat, I was sent home with a beautiful dress that fit just right! Pat was patient, kind, and understanding throughout the entire process. Her prices are MORE THAN reasonable and I would recommend her services to anyone, both near and far (it's worth the drive!). Not only did I receive wonderful service from both her and her husband, but I arrived at my venue to find that Pat had saved another surprise for my wedding day... After changing into my dress, it was time to put on the jewelry. I went to open a little blue box that I used to store the brooch that went on my dress, and to my surprise she had place a beautiful rhinestone bracelet inside that I had tried on in her store on the day that I picked up my dress! Pat I appreciate your feedback l, however I never used foul language with you and you obviously can't aren't use to taking constructive criticism of any kind, especially when it was obvious that the hem was uneven. At the point where you threw the tape measure at me when I was trying to show the unevemezs of the hem, you dedication to making a customer happy fell by the waste side. As a business you protect your interest and as a,paying customer I protect my interest. I understand if you have a hard time admitting that you were anything less than professional. You did imply that I would steal the tuxedo by saying once we walk out the door you may never see it again. This was said on the floor in front of everyone. Yes, I did video me returning the tuxedo, based on your actions, I wouldn't put it past you to make up more false accusations. I have to protect myself. As long as I get what I paid for I have no problem paying. All the strife that I had to go through to get you to hem the pants evenly was extremely uneccesary. First place I went to look for a wedding dress and I am so glad this place was recommended to me by some locals. Beautiful selection of wedding gowns and so much more! Not only were the prices so reasonable but the service was wonderful too! Everyone was very helpful. I walked out with my dream wedding dress for $89.00!! If you are looking for a gorgeous dress on a budget I would definitely recommend trying this place first. Went in to consign some dress , all relatively new but the girl was so picky and wouldnt take my dress bc of a "stain" that i could not see and other reasons on the other dresses. I took 4 dresses up there and was looking around while waiting and realized the "brand new" dresses they had just ordered all looked like they were from the 90's and were all super ugly.... nobody wears polka dot prom dresses its 2016. Tehn out of the 4 i brought she took the ugliest one and told me it was going in consignment for 100$ and i would get 50/50 profit. Well the lady didnt tell me while i was there that she would ALSO be taking 16$ out of my 50%. so the 50 i thought i was recieving went down bc she also didn't acknowledge that she isnt selling my dress for 100$ only 75$. Not happy at all about the way they do buisness or the ugly out dated dresses. read more
