I love this store! I love lighting, but I find most stores overwhelming because everything is so cramped that I end up just leaving without seeing anything I like. This is a true showroom-- it is wonderfully laid out and spacious. I love the way everything is displayed where you can pull the cord on any light to see it on or off. Service is great also, They are helpful but leave you alone to look if you want that. Anya was our sales associate, and helped us find the right lighting AND she researched to find us the best pricing! They will match competitors' pricing. read more

Despite some of the negative reviews particularly about customer service, I didn't experience any of that during my visit. I was greeted when I walked in and directed to the ceiling fans which was the purpose of my visit. Picked out a Savoy House brand and as I was waiting for the paperwork I was asked by 2 others staff member if I needed any help. You have to pick up your purchase around the back where the warehouse is located. One of the staff brought the ceiling fan out to my vehicle and loaded for me. I guess I visited at the right time, the staff received some additional training or the customer was just an @$$. My only criticism was that many of the ceiling fans I liked on display was on back order otherwise they would had gotten 5 stars. read more

With all due respect, the service that you described was simply false and misleading. You were immediately greeted by our receptionist and approached in under 1 minute by a member of our sales team whom viewed a photo on your phone and proceeded to show you similar product. You then stated you would like to browse. I'm sorry that was not up to your standards but our staff would love to accommodate your future needs and we value ALL of our customers. A statement about this business being racist is way out of bounds. We have an extremely diverse staff and enjoy every single customers that enters our business. Stan J. We did not have a very favorable experience. We were looking for a chandelier to go over out dinning room table. The room has 9 foot ceiling. We found one that we liked and the lady helped us with the selection. She said that we could bring it back if we did not like it, what she did not tell us that we could not if we installed it. The fixture was way too large for 9 foot ceiling, so don't go by their experts. They had a special sale on chandeliers starting the next day which we were not told about. When we called about it she said the our fixture was a pendant and not a chandelier even though it shows up on page nine of their chandelier web page. SO BE CAREFUL read more

I went to this place because I needed to replace the wall mounted light outside of my garage. I read these reviews and was turned off but since it is less than half a mile away from my job... decided to try them out. I walked in and was immediately greeted by a very engaging and professional lady who was seated at the front desk. She asked me if I was looking for anything in particular and pointed me in the right direction. I was very appreciative that this was the beginning of a positive experience. I walked around a bit... kinda like a kid in the candy store. I was amazed at all the lights and lamps and mirrors... OH MY! As I walked around ready to empty out the contents of my bank account on these beautiful items (LOL)... I was greeted by a nice associate named Connie. Connie was very helpful. She gave her opinion on some things... I am very indecisive. I needed all the help I could get. I really wanted to give this company my business BUT... the light fixture I ended up loving... the last one was mounted on the wall and there was no one there to take it down. Too bad... I needed it for installation tomorrow so couldn't wait. I definitely plan to return. The selection is wonderful and staff was great. read more

I had a great experience at the Cumming location. I needed a few more lights and went to this location after I was advised they have in stock items which Cumming does not. The salesperson my electrician recommended wasn't in so I started looking around. A very nice gentleman employee (not in sales) asked if I needed help. I had a question regarding a ceiling fan. He asked an older sales lady who was nearby when she glanced over with a dirty look and said "I am with a customer." I've never understood why some people in retail have an attitude of superiority and act as though a customer is a bother. I walked out of store and ordered everything I needed from Horchow for $2600. I refuse to give my business to companies who act as though they don't want it. read more

Per our builder we were told to pick our fixtures from Progressive Lighting, we ordered 3 Ceiling fans and requested remotes, only 1 came with remote. Working with our sales associate who remembered the conversation and then working with the GM Angela who agreed to fix the issue 3 months ago we are still waiting. We call Angela every other week and she tells us she will handle it yet nothing is being done. Buyers beware! read more

Kelly Smith went above and beyond to help my husband and I with extra chain that we needed. To start, she greeted us proactively and was very friendly. We needed the additional components for a light fixture (that we didn't even purchase there) and we learned that Progressive Lighting doesn't sell extra chain like the one we needed. However Kelly still helped us and provided very insightful information. I am now eyeballing a new light fixture in the store simply because of her outstanding service. I will definitely go back to this store for any of my lighting needs because of her kind gesture. I've read some of these other poor reviews so take note: ask for Kelly Smith when you visit. Horrendous experience today at this location. I walked the entire store three times and was not spoken to (except by the very nice receptionist at the front doors) or offered any assistance. Was there to by five chandeliers for a new home. No one even acknowledged my presence. One employee finished helping a customer that did not buy. The employee then turned and looked at me and walked the other way. Unbelievable! Couldn't help but wonder if it had anything to do with me being an African American male. I relayed my experience to the nice receptionist as I left the store. I will never return and will tell everyone about my experience at this location. read more

In spite of the diversity of offerings in their showroom and their splendid presentation, you would be well advised not to step foot inside the premises, and save yourself some frustration and dissatisfaction with a company which does not stand by its products and whose regard for its customers ends with the sale. I purchased a wide linear chandelier for my dining room, a large ceiling fan for my living room, and a chandelier for my foyer. Each of these items was installed by the contractor recommended to me by the salesperson herself. At the time of installation, the contractor pointed out multiple problems. First, the large ceiling fan motor makes a periodic humming noise at the beginning of every full revolution. Second, two of the eight candle covers for the dining room chandelier were missing from the box when it was opened, leaving the unsightly electrical wires exposed over a 6-inch run from the base of the chandelier's frame to each bulb. Third, there were missing LED bulbs for both the foyer and dining room chandeliers. When I informed Progressive Lighting about the defective ceiling fan they had sold me, I was told to bring the fan to their store for testing. I reminded them that this would cost me more money than the fan itself is worth to hire a contractor to climb up a 20-foot ladder to unmount the fan and then make another trip to my home at a later date to mount a replacement. As an alternative, I invited Progressive Lighting to send a technician out to my home, and suggested that he could test and inspect the ceiling fan in place, or even unmount it himself and bring it back to their store in Roswell for further testing. After several days of silence, Progressive Lighting rejected this solution, and refused to replace the defective product they had sold me which, again, had been installed by their preferred contractor. This experience with Progressive Lighting has cost me several hundred dollars. read more

I never leave a bad review but I think that it is important to let that company know how their customers are being treated. I walked in wanted to work on a complete package lighting for my home. After walking around for a while and not being acknowledged I walked towards where the employees were working. Finally someone helped. She quickly walked through the store pointing out lights, saying no to my suggestions but did show lighting for certain areas of my home. She sent an invoice but some of the lights I was unsure since we went so quickly. I wanted to go back in to refine and add lights. When I got to the store, no acknowledgement from the lady at the front desk, so I walked in the back where the salesperson sat. She said I'm finishing up with a customer! I waited 35-40 minutes no acknowledgement from anyone. I took all my pictures and left. I ordered over $7,000 worth of lighting that day all online and not one at progressive lighting. I still have not received an email, call or text from that sales person. Terrible customer service! read more

To echo the only other review for this place. There is something very bad about the customer service vibe here. It seems pretty clear that all the employees in the store last Saturday, April 26, we're completely uninterested in helping us. We were there to look for help finding a replacement globe for a very expensive fixture we bought there 10 years ago. Every person we encountered couldn't have been less interested in helping us. Without exception we met with disdain and mockery. Quote, "we don't sell parts. We don't repair things. We sell new fixtures", delivered with a sneer. It's easy now for me. I'll never go back in there. And I don't mind telling this story to anyone who asks my opinion. read more

Been shopping at progressive lighting for years! Went to return one simple closet light and was four days past the 30 day policy of returns...we can't help you sorry no store credit nothing! DO NOT SPEND A DIME!! Horrendous customer service!! I drove 45 minutes to meet my mother at this store. Arrived 7 minutes before close to see my mother being escorted to the door and asked to leave due to it being closing time. She asked if she could just show me the chandeliers she had picked out for my home. We were then given a dirty look and followed by the sales lady being told twice in the 3 minutes we were at the lovely establishment that "WE CLOSE AT 5!". As we were walking out the door (AT 5!) I glanced up at a light and paused only to be "greeting" my a man in his coat with keys in hand telling us they are closing. We left and will be going elsewhere. I have never been treated so rudely. Note to store, if staying open a few minutes past to make your store 1000s of dollars isn't worth your staffs time, then may I suggest you prepare to have the lights on all your overpriced fixtures turned off permenatly because that will not fly in Roswell! read more

I special ordered some stair lights from the Duluth, GA store on 12/5/16. I then cut open sheetrock around the stairs to wire accordingly. On 12/21/16 I get a call from the sales woman and she tells me the product is no longer being manufactured and nothing is in stock. I asked her to help me find an alternative and all she said was the manufacturer doesn't make them anymore. All she wanted to do was issue my credit and get me off the phone asap. She was happy to take my money when I ordered, but she forgot about me immediately and left me with a huge problem. Horrible customer service! read more

The worst costumer service I have ever experienced in Atlanta! I visted the Alpharetta store last week to select lighting fixtures for a Buckhead home we are redecorating. The receptionist told us that there were no salespeople availble but that we could look around the showroom. We waited half an hour, and still no salespeople... When we left we asked the receptionist to have a salesperson call us as soon as one became available. We waited several days and never got a call back. Followed up later with the receptionist, and she said "sorry - I can't force people to call you back!" We asked to speak to a manager and the receptionist told us that none were available... Something very strange is going on here, but clearly they don't want our business. We will never be back! read more

Poor customer service. We built a Sharp home and spent $10,00.00 on lights here. We closed 5/20/16 We are still waiting on parts for lights that were poorly installed. The installer apparently didn't want to do the job correctly and we are left with missing parts to our dinning room light. We paid for clear bulbs and they installed cfl bulbs. One light in our hall looks like it's going to fall out of the ceiling. We have made multiple attempts to get parts and repairs done. Poor follow up and lousy service. It's now 11/29/16 nothing has been corrected. read more

Just completed upgrading my downstairs vanity bathroom for may wife with new countertop, stain cabinets, new painted walls, and a new Vessel sink with a modern waterfall faucet. The finishing touch was to replace the lighting fixture. The service was great, patient, and listening to our situation before commenting. Unfortunately, I agree with the other reviews. I have been in this store several times only to be disappointed every single time. I have finally learned my lesson, I will never go back. I have never been approached by a salesperson to see if help could be provided. If you are fortunate enough to find one, they act annoyed when asked for help. I had not been there in a while so I thought that maybe things had changed. I am currently building a house and my builder suggested that I go to Progressive so I went back yesterday. Again, no one asked if I needed any help. I was finally approached by someone that told me the store was actually closed although there were other shoppers making selections. After stammering from shock, I said "ok, I'll leave". He merely replied, "ok". He never once asked if he could help in any way or to please come back during business hours.
