We came early on a Saturday getting lattes and playing the crossword. The coffee was good, and they take cash to avoid credit card fees which is great. I think it would be a good place to WFH. The space is decorated soooo cozy and the back patio is stunning with lots of green plants. The tables had seating with comfy pillows so I am a big fan of the coffee shop vibe!

One of the neighbors asked me to meet them at this lovely location. I've been looking for an affordable comfortable yet intimate Café, and I had no idea what I was gonna come upon. Bernal heights is an adorable quaint neighborhood and it looks great. I hadn't been there in a couple years for sure. This place is charming Homie. Definitely has old-school charm. The staff are friendly and affable. Patient and treat each customer as their family. The offerings are simple and direct affordable and they serve people at a nice pace to be aware that sometimes there's peak moments in the rest of the time it's quite quiet. I ordered the egg and cheese on a croissant. The croissant was perfect. You could actually taste the cheddar it was nice and thick in the egg was light and fluffy and for the price it was a steel. My latte was nice and smooth and balanced. I love how they offered me one or two shots at the same price point regardless, and they had an easy check out they made the beverage quickly and handed it to me and then brought the sandwich to me and a beautiful cute tray with the napkin cut in half so it was easy to bite down and really taste an incredible croissant. Locals really love this destination. You hear a lot of Neighbor chatter. And it has a front and a back and a patio so we can accommodate small groups of people. I can't wait to go back and try some more fair but in the morning if I need a place to hunker down or to read, I think this is a really good choice for many people. this is the Hallmark of a neighborhood establishment people like to go there and gather and stay in. This is exactly what type of business this is. It is a hallmark of the neighborhood.

    Falafel Lavash Wrap

A sweet gem tucked away in Bernal Heights. This coffee shop offers a little bit of everything for everyone - coffee, smoothies, bagels, sandwiches, salads, and fresh baked goods/pastries at fair prices. I opted for the falafel whole wheat lavash wrap with chili sauce and pickles on the side. Needless to say, with the first bite, this place has earned my loyal support. By far, this is one of the best wraps I've had in San Francisco - the falafel felt light, yet filling and healthy. With ample seating in the front, back, and patio, a kind local crowd, and plenty of tasty vegetarian options - I'll be back!

Very cozy neighborhood cafe. Lots of outlets behind every single table. Nice outdoor patio behind the cafe that's shaded by nearby buildings.

    $12 lox bagel

Ambience of this place is nice and has good seating, but the food and drink are mediocre. Ordered a smoothie ($10) plus lox bagel with cucumber and onion ($12) and the layer of lox was so thin it wasn't even visible in a cross section. Smoothie was additionally under poured and lukewarm.

Came here to have a coffee and finish my last few work tasks for 2023. This was my first time visiting Progressive Grounds even though I have frequented Bernal Heights for years. The staff were warm and friendly. I ordered an oat milk white mocha, it was yummy but a bit sweet for me, that was my fault, I should have stuck with my usual latte. I sat in the cozy nook by the window and got my work done with no distractions. I think they have wifi if you ask, I was too shy to ask so I used my hot spot. My sister ordered their lunch combo which is a soup of the day and half a sandwich. She really enjoyed it. Love this place, I'll be adding it to my list of remote work cafes.

The tablet is pretty easy to navigate, and my order was ready in about 7-10 minutes. I ordered the Pork Belly Bahn Mi -- along with the Shrimp Spring Rolls. In the restaurant, you can clearly see them baking their fresh, and making the Spring Rolls and Bahn Mi in front of you. My Bahn Mi was filled -- but seeing some reviews saying they're "stuffed"? Not my experience. I do like that they are not shy with the jalapeños and patě, though! The Shrimp Spring Rolls are served with a side sauce; at first I thought it may have been peanut-based, but the taste is not peanut-forward. The major taste of the sauce is tamarind, which was a welcome surprise. All in all, if you don't want to buy food in the airport and having a craving for Viet Cuisine while cruising San Bruno Ave. -- stop by for a tasty sandwich!

Order there and grab a bag of chips + a drink from the store to enjoy with your sandwich! No matter what sandwich you choose from their extensive menu, Dutch crunch bread is a must. I like how their Dutch crunch has the perfect amount of crunch (satisfying, while not being too crunchy to the point where the roof of your mouth is scraped up). It's also not overly sweet compared to other Dutch crunch breads I've tried. I usually get either the Cali Club with provolone or the Oxbridge Special (formerly known as 2. Atomic 47 on their old menu; also isn't listed on their current menu board but it's listed on their GrubHub). The Cali Club is almost like an elevated BLTA. Perfect if you want a sandwich that's both hearty and fresh. The Oxbridge Special is mildly spicy and the roast beef in it is savory and juicy. Definitely come by if you're ever in the area!
