I found Paul through Yelp and he was quick to communicate and available to come provide an in-person estimate as we prepared our house to sell. He was very helpful in explaining a few different options and what industry/real estate trends are. This was my first real painting job that I hired out, and it was good to learn (e.g. paint is included in the quote). We agreed upon a good price and he was able to start within a day or two. His team was friendly and they did a really nice job painting and then doing requested finishing touch ups. They also installed new door hardware (knobs and hinges) that I purchased. When finished, they cleaned up and also took a bunch of old paint that I wanted to properly dispose of (saved me a trip!). Would highly recommend and use again. read more

Worth more than 5 stars! Paul and John had done a very professional exterior painting work for my house. We had a very pleasant experience working with them. The whole team was always on time. When we had a hard time choosing the color, Paul made a very good suggestion for us. John was patient when listening to customers and had the job done beautifully. Proficient painting keeps the promise and delivers high quality results. 100% recommend proficient painting. read more

It was great working with Paul and his team for our exterior home painting. He was very responsive in answering our questions and coming up with a quote. Paul was super patient with us in selecting colors, he got the samples for us and helped with choosing colors. At one point, after having painted the whole house, I had second thoughts about the color. Paul was very patient with me, he got some more samples for me to try out other colors and made sure I was fully satisfied. Paul also was very responsive towards the end and helped with completing some patch up work. I am very happy with the painting work and the colors. Highly recommend Proficient painting and I will definitely go with them for any future work! read more

First off Paul Wilder should not be painting in people's homes. A middle schooler could have provided me with more quality painting. He left my house worse off than when I began my search for a quality painter. Claimed to be sick for weeks instead of trying to fix the problem. Gave me a measly refund when if the problem isn't going to be fixed then a full refund should be in order. Provided a feeble attempt to get the paint matched so now my walls are a complete wreck from his very poor and inaccurate painting. Deleted thumbtack to avoid a bad review also so if that's not sketch I don't know what is. All in all, a waste of over a month in what should've been a relatively easy job. Sorry buddy found your Yelp profile to present you with a much needed and deserved review. Best advice: retire and don't paint again read more

Wanted to say Thanks to Paul and his crew for doing a fantastic job on our house at a fantastic price. We did a large remodel addition, Paul's crew painted the entire inside of the new addition, including 2 rooms and a bathroom, as well as doing all the trim which included some custom pieces below the windows. Everything turned out Amazing. At one point we didn't like a color we had picked for a bathroom and Paul redid it no questions asked for a very fair price. In addition Pauls team fixed all the cracks on our stucco and painted our entire house including an outdoor bathroom and shed. Everything was super professional and turned out great. He helped advise us on colors and we love the new look of our house. He used the materials we requested, no questions asked, and stuck to his quote. His quote came well under other bids, and there was no sacrifice of quality. I would absolutely use Paul again for any future painting projects. He was extremely trustworthy, worked well with my Contractor, and even did some work when I was out of town because I knew I could trust his team when I wasn't around. Couldn't imagine using anyone else. Thanks again! read more

Paul was easy to coordinate with for getting our pergola pressure washed and restained. I'm pretty sure painting a pergola qualifies as medieval torture, but Paul and his team made sure every nook was painted well. read more

Paul and his whole crew were great! They finished painting my house today and I couldn't be happier. They were super clean and went above and beyond to make me happy! A few neighbors already came by to say how great it looks. I would highly recommend their work! read more

I needed to have my bathroom painted, so I went onto the Yelp website to find someone to do the work. Proficient Painting had such great reviews, I decided to give them a try. I am very happy that I did! Paul and his crew were willing to work with me through the entire process. I wasn't sure about the paint color, so they helped me with the selection. They knew what was "current" and were able to guide me in the right direction. My once pink bathroom is now this beautiful, light gray color that matches perfectly with the tile. Paul and his crew did an excellent job. To be honest, I was a bit nervous about the entire process. There were so many items to consider while working on the bathroom (electrical outlets, recessed lighting, fan grate, etc.) Johnny was wonderful, though, and he took care of everything. He did a great job covering all areas, to minimize the chance of paint falling onto the granite, tub, sink, etc. Once the ceiling fan grate was pulled down, you could see that it was very dirty. He vacuumed the inside of the bathroom fan for me! Paul was great, too. When he noticed my towel rack was coming loose from the wall, he ran up to the local hardware store, got what he needed and fixed the rack for me. This was definitely going above and beyond, but I certainly appreciated it. You cannot go wrong this company!! They will take care of you and give you the result that you want. Thank you, Paul and crew. read more

I have used Paul at Proficient Painting to paint many of my listings prior to putting them in the market. Paul's crew does very high quality work, keeps the job site clean at all times, and does it all at a reasonable cost. I have been extremely satisfied with Paul's work and highly recommend him for interior and exterior house painting. Updated 1/21/18 - We recently worked on another project where Paul was not the painter selected. There was an area needing repair that the other painter said they were not able to fix. Paul personally came out to the property with Jeff and within about 1 1/2 hours had already completed the first of 2 steps to completely repair the area. It looks fantastic already. I can't wait to see the finished product! Thanks always, Paul. read more

Paul, Jeff, and another crew did a super great job painting the house. Their quality is excellent and the price is really reasonable. They are very organized, clean, and pay attention to lots of the details such as caulking between the the cabinets and the ceiling/wall, removing the old paint chips from the cabinets, etc. They are patient and very easy to work with. Paul responses my texts and emails very quickly; it's very important for me to have efficient communications with the contractors. We had a damaged baseboard and Paul spent extra time looking for three stores to find a matching one rather than just buying any similar one. In addition, with extra paint left, Paul painted the balcony railing for us without any extra charge. I have used several other painters in the past, but Proficient Painting is the best! read more

We found Paul via our neighbor, who spoke very highly of him. To our delight, Paul is such a professional and his crew (Johnny, Pablo) is wonderful to work with. Paul is quick on returning texts and phone calls, and his crew is very reliable (showing up on time, working hard, courteous, friendly, efficient etc). They even work on weekends if needs be, to get the job done. In addition, Paul's quote is very reasonable, and he goes beyond expectation. Paul is not just a painter, but he also is a contractor. Our outdoor cabana's roof collapsed during the rain and Paul is willing to repair it for us, for a reasonable fee, before he paints it. He saves us from the headache of trying to find a handyman/contractor who would take such a small job on an Emergency basis. Things like this makes Paul an outstanding company and I would wholeheartedly use him again. I already recommended him to my circle of friends. :) read more

Paul and team did a great job painting a few rooms in my house on a very tight schedule. When one room required additional touch up work, Paul was more than willing to stop by to fix on a Sunday. Everyone on the team was friendly and professional and their prices were competitive. read more

Paul totally redefine my expectation of remodeling experience! I am really grateful for having Paul as our painter who always being so helpful and give great suggestions. One day he was suggesting to replace color for electric cover which used to be dark blue whereas rest of the house are in flat white color. He kindly asked for approval and we totally love his idea! The new color fits really well with our house and it doesn't cost us extra money. People always said quality / time / cost, choose 2 However, Paul did demonstrate he can provide all of them. Thank you Paul you will definitely be my painter next time :) we did enjoy the services and highly recommended to everyone who is looking for painters! We love Proficient Painting! read more

Paul and his team are as good as it gets. Very professional, friendly, and efficient. They did a superb job staining the fence around my house, inside and out--it looks brand new. And the cost was very reasonable. I would highly recommend Proficient Painting. read more

I found Paul and his team at Proficient Painting from a blog, and saw he had done wonderful work on her house. He responded to my request for a quote and came right out to look at the house and ask and answer all the right questions. He gave me a clear quote and dates he could start work as well as how long it would take. He painted the entire exterior, garage and side door, and two rooms in the interior. He got exactly the colors I wanted and provided good advice. When his team started, they did a great job cleaning the outside and moving furniture and rugs in the interior. They figured out hot to install my new house numbers, too, which was not as easy as you might presume. They even put up with my dog :) And less than a week later I have a beautifully painted, airy bright house that makes me so happy to come home too! Paul and his team are top notch and I recommend them without reservation. See pics for before and after! read more

Paul and his crew are the real deal. So happy we went with them and so happy with the results!! We got the scheduling wrong for our home improvements and needed to jumpstart the paint job. Paul offered to come in and get started the next day, even though it would usually be his one day off! Moreover, we had a bit of a fiasco with paint matching and ended up changing our minds entirely after the first coat. Paul rolled with it 100%. They painted our entire new home and we love it. These guys are efficient, do quality work, and have very reasonable pricing. Most importantly, Paul's responsiveness at all times of day is outstanding and rare. We will happily work with them again and recommend them to friends! read more

Paul sent John over to paint my nursery. Paul was easy to coordinate with, very responsive and offered a reasonable price point. John was on time, professional, friendly and efficient. He did a great job of prepping the wall (we had him only paint 3/4ths of the wall so the lining was important) and painting the walls. John did have a bit of splatter on other walls that were not being painted and a little on the carpet, however when I pointed these out he was very friendly and helpful in touching up those walls with the original paint color and he scrubbed out the paint from the carpet without any fuss and with no leftover stains. I would definitely recommend Proficient Painting. read more

I got Proficient Painting in to paint my interiors after talking to a few contractors on the phone. Some were nice but charged an arm and leg, a few either had problems communicating or had an attitude problem ("Sorry, I only do high-end interiors."). Proficient Painting not only provided the most competitive estimate, they also exceeded my expectation in every way. Paul and team are: COST-EFFECTIVE & EFFICIENT: A well-oiled machine, they work quickly but meticulously. After Paul and I agreed on an estimate, my electrician went on to cut holes around all the outlets in the sheetrock. I called Paul, fearing that he would charge me a huge premium to repair the sheetrock. Paul was very reassuring on the phone and told me he would take care of everything. On the day he was due to start work, he came in to assess the damage and gave me a more than reasonable rate for the sheetrock repair. When he saw that I was struggling to manage my budget, he actually gave me a further discount to help me out! I was impressed that he not only took the extra work in his stride, but went on to do a marvelous job. At the end of the day, the walls looked as good as new. ATTITUDE: The best thing about Paul is that he is such a positive person. He does his best to accommodate my little requests and always with a smile. His crew are also friendly and polite. Such a breath of fresh air after dealing with some sour-faced contractors! METICULOUS: Along the way, Paul asked for my permission to take care of little things around the house--things I hadn't even thought of! I am quite a perfectionist so before the job completion, I emailed him a list of the teeny things that needed to be addressed. Paul emailed back on the same day and wrote, "I will take care of everything." He was true to his word. PUNCTUAL: Paul & crew are always on time. If they say they're going to be there at a certain time, they WILL turn up on the dot. COMMUNICATIVE: Paul would give me a progress update by phone at the end of every work day. I know exactly what had been done and what would be done throughout the job period. ON TIME ON TARGET: Need I say more? In summary, Proficient Painting certainly lives up to its name. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to paint their home. I am looking forward to having them paint my house facade. read more

Paul and his team did a great job on short notice. When I asked about availability, he mentioned that he was booked up but he offered to come out on July 4th as a creative possibility. I've had Andy do many many many painting jobs for me. (Often the same walls over and over because I just couldn't find the right color!) He is very professional, always on time, and does a great job. His pricing is very competitive - he charges less than other painters I've used and does just as good of a job. Highly recommend! read more

Your search for a painter stops here! Don't look anywhere else! Paul was uber professional, prompt, flexible, reasonable, and pleasant, everything you want in a contractor. All of the reviews for Paul and his crew are spot on. I had an emergency painting job that was complicated that needed to be done because of another contractor that I had to fire. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I would definitely hire them again. If you need a painter, look no further. These guys do the best job at the best price. read more

We sorely need our home's exterior painted. It still has the original paint job 26 years ago with cracks and peels. We thoroughly compared the top 5 reviewed painters in the area and finally picked Paul's Proficient Painting. We were not disappointed! Paul promptly replied all our questions on Yelp's chat and came out to inspect our house for the estimation immediately on the next day. He clearly described exactly what will be done and how. The cost estimation came a few hours later in an email and it was very reasonable! After our agreement, the work soon began within a week. Other companies have long delays before work can be started which is not acceptable to us. His crew (John, Pablo) did a great paint job on our home. They worked hard for 5 straight days starting as early as 6:30am while we're still sleeping! There were no off days in between that would have drag out the job. This is impressive. Our neighbors complimented how beautiful the house looks afterward. We would strongly recommend Proficient Painting to our neighbors and friends for painting needs. They are professional, timely, and trustworthy. read more

Caution: Paul spreads himself and his company too thin. Paul was very professional upon our first meeting and provided a very reasonable estimate. Unfortunately, he continually pushed our start date back stating "my guys aren't showing up." When we finally received a start date 07/02, Paul stated it would be a 2-3 day project. We left on vacation 5 days later and the project was still not completed. We returned from vacation a week later and the project was still not completed with correspondence including "It would have been a 2-3 day job if I had done it." We ended his contract immediately. I am sure he does great work if HE does it but make sure you you aren't one of his projects he is trying to squeeze in otherwise you will be very disappointed. read more
