He was very helpful in explaining a few different options and what industry/real estate trends are. This was my first real painting job that I hired out, and it was good to learn (e.g. paint is included in the quote). We agreed upon a good price and he was able to start within a day or two. His team was friendly and they did a really nice job painting and then doing requested finishing touch ups. They also installed new door hardware (knobs and hinges) that I purchased. First off Paul Wilder should not be painting in people's homes. A middle schooler could have provided me with more quality painting. He left my house worse off than when I began my search for a quality painter. Claimed to be sick for weeks instead of trying to fix the problem. Gave me a measly refund when if the problem isn't going to be fixed then a full refund should be in order. Provided a feeble attempt to get the paint matched so now my walls are a complete wreck from his very poor and inaccurate painting. Deleted thumbtack to avoid a bad review also so if that's not sketch I don't know what is. All in all, a waste of over a month in what should've been a relatively easy job. Wanted to say Thanks to Paul and his crew for doing a fantastic job on our house at a fantastic price. We did a large remodel addition, Paul's crew painted the entire inside of the new addition, including 2 rooms and a bathroom, as well as doing all the trim which included some custom pieces below the windows. Everything turned out Amazing. At one point we didn't like a color we had picked for a bathroom and Paul redid it no questions asked for a very fair price. In addition Pauls team fixed all the cracks on our stucco and painted our entire house including an outdoor bathroom and shed. Everything was super professional and turned out great. I needed to have my bathroom painted, so I went onto the Yelp website to find someone to do the work. Proficient Painting had such great reviews, I decided to give them a try. I am very happy that I did! Paul and his crew were willing to work with me through the entire process. I wasn't sure about the paint color, so they helped me with the selection. They knew what was "current" and were able to guide me in the right direction. My once pink bathroom is now this beautiful, light gray color that matches perfectly with the tile. Paul and his crew did an excellent job. To be honest, I was a bit nervous about the entire process. There were so many items to consider while working on the bathroom (electrical outlets, recessed lighting, fan grate, etc.) Johnny was wonderful, though, and he took care of everything. He did a great job covering all areas, to minimize the chance of paint falling onto the granite, tub, sink, etc. Once the ceiling fan grate was pulled down, you could see that it was very dirty. He vacuumed the inside of the bathroom fan for me! Paul was great, too. When he noticed my towel rack was coming loose from the wall, he ran up to the local hardware store, got what he needed and fixed the rack for me. This was definitely going above and beyond, but I certainly appreciated it. You cannot go wrong this company!! They will take care of you and give you the result that you want. Paul, Jeff, and another crew did a super great job painting the house. Their quality is excellent and the price is really reasonable. They are very organized, clean, and pay attention to lots of the details such as caulking between the the cabinets and the ceiling/wall, removing the old paint chips from the cabinets, etc. They are patient and very easy to work with. Paul responses my texts and emails very quickly; it's very important for me to have efficient communications with the contractors. We had a damaged baseboard and Paul spent extra time looking for three stores to find a matching one rather than just buying any similar one. In addition, with extra paint left, Paul painted the balcony railing for us without any extra charge. I have used several other painters in the past, but Proficient Painting is the best! read more

I found Paul and his team at Proficient Painting from a blog, and saw he had done wonderful work on her house. He responded to my request for a quote and came right out to look at the house and ask and answer all the right questions. He gave me a clear quote and dates he could start work as well as how long it would take. He painted the entire exterior, garage and side door, and two rooms in the interior. He got exactly the colors I wanted and provided good advice. When his team started, they did a great job cleaning the outside and moving furniture and rugs in the interior. They figured out hot to install my new house numbers, too, which was not as easy as you might presume. Paul sent John over to paint my nursery. Paul was easy to coordinate with, very responsive and offered a reasonable price point. John was on time, professional, friendly and efficient. He did a great job of prepping the wall (we had him only paint 3/4ths of the wall so the lining was important) and painting the walls. John did have a bit of splatter on other walls that were not being painted and a little on the carpet, however when I pointed these out he was very friendly and helpful in touching up those walls with the original paint color and he scrubbed out the paint from the carpet without any fuss and with no leftover stains. I got Proficient Painting in to paint my interiors after talking to a few contractors on the phone. Some were nice but charged an arm and leg, a few either had problems communicating or had an attitude problem ("Sorry, I only do high-end interiors."). Proficient Painting not only provided the most competitive estimate, they also exceeded my expectation in every way. Paul and team are: COST-EFFECTIVE & EFFICIENT: A well-oiled machine, they work quickly but meticulously. After Paul and I agreed on an estimate, my electrician went on to cut holes around all the outlets in the sheetrock. I called Paul, fearing that he would charge me a huge premium to repair the sheetrock. Paul was very reassuring on the phone and told me he would take care of everything. On the day he was due to start work, he came in to assess the damage and gave me a more than reasonable rate for the sheetrock repair. When he saw that I was struggling to manage my budget, he actually gave me a further discount to help me out! I was impressed that he not only took the extra work in his stride, but went on to do a marvelous job. At the end of the day, the walls looked as good as new. ATTITUDE: The best thing about Paul is that he is such a positive person. He does his best to accommodate my little requests and always with a smile. His crew are also friendly and polite. Such a breath of fresh air after dealing with some sour-faced contractors! METICULOUS: Along the way, Paul asked for my permission to take care of little things around the house--things I hadn't even thought of! I am quite a perfectionist so before the job completion, I emailed him a list of the teeny things that needed to be addressed. Paul emailed back on the same day and wrote, "I will take care of everything." He was true to his word. PUNCTUAL: Paul & crew are always on time. If they say they're going to be there at a certain time, they WILL turn up on the dot. COMMUNICATIVE: Paul would give me a progress update by phone at the end of every work day. We sorely need our home's exterior painted. It still has the original paint job 26 years ago with cracks and peels. We thoroughly compared the top 5 reviewed painters in the area and finally picked Paul's Proficient Painting. We were not disappointed! Paul promptly replied all our questions on Yelp's chat and came out to inspect our house for the estimation immediately on the next day. He clearly described exactly what will be done and how. The cost estimation came a few hours later in an email and it was very reasonable! After our agreement, the work soon began within a week. Other companies have long delays before work can be started which is not acceptable to us. His crew (John, Pablo) did a great paint job on our home. They worked hard for 5 straight days starting as early as 6:30am while we're still sleeping! There were no off days in between that would have drag out the job. This is impressive. Caution: Paul spreads himself and his company too thin. Paul was very professional upon our first meeting and provided a very reasonable estimate. Unfortunately, he continually pushed our start date back stating "my guys aren't showing up." When we finally received a start date 07/02, Paul stated it would be a 2-3 day project. We left on vacation 5 days later and the project was still not completed. We returned from vacation a week later and the project was still not completed with correspondence including "It would have been a 2-3 day job if I had done it." We ended his contract immediately. I am sure he does great work if HE does it but make sure you you aren't one of his projects he is trying to squeeze in otherwise you will be very disappointed. read more
