    Patient Centered?
 Patients First?
 I am not convinced.
    Derrick I.

This is for the East Side location- Approximately a week and a half ago my wife made an appt. with a referral/order from her doctor for a specific type of mammogram image. When she called the Eastside office, she made sure they had the referral. She was told yes and made the appt. for Monday 15 APR. The appt. was CONFIRMED via email AND a phone call. (I believe there was also a text confirmation). We arrived early and checked in. After some time had passed, a technician called her into the back and she was informed that the type of imaging was not done on Monday and could she return the next day. After some last minute rescheduling, we agreed to return on Tuesday for a 1:20 PM appt. Again, we arrived early and checked in. After about 30 minutes, watching patients come in and be seen, she went to the reception area and asked what the delay was. She was told by the receptionist "I will tell them how long it will be". We again waited for another 20 minutes or so with no answer. I watched as several technicians walked through the waiting room several times as if they were on a walking break (not calling patients, just walking). I stopped one and asked to speak with a supervisor. The tech then entered a treatment room. I waited for a short period, then asked another tech to speak with a supervisor. This tech went into the back and returned stating that a supervisor would be out soon. After some time a person came out (Martha?) and asked what was going on. I explained the situation and she said let me go check. She returned and stated that the tech was with a patient and my wife was next. Soon a tech came out and called my wife to be seen. I recognized this tech as one of the ones seen walking around, as I mentioned earlier. I wondered how she could be with a patient and walk around at the same time- wonders of modern medicine I guess. Anyhow, for a 1:20 PM appt, my wife was seen at 2:50 PM, for a 10-minute imaging procedure. My wife is recovering from a stroke and is on medication that causes fatigue and makes her very uncomfortable. Professional Radiology has "Patients First" as part of their name, and posters displayed inside claim "patient centered". It is difficult to believe that they mean this after our experience with them. I understand that many doctors "overlook" appts, it is part of the game, but this experience is totally uncalled for and certainly not acceptable.

While surgery can be a high-stress experience, your team went above and beyond to make me feel safe and comfortable. I want to specifically recognize Crystal, the physician's assistant. When I arrived, my blood pressure was 168/100 due to nerves. Crystal's incredible knowledge, expertise, and calming presence were so effective that she managed to bring my blood pressure down to a healthy 130/80 before the procedure. Her ability to comfort a nervous patient is unmatched, and I have already requested that my next surgery be at the Joe Battle location just so I can work with her again--it is well worth the extra drive. Definitely Crystal does need a pay raise or some type of monetary recognition. I also want to commend Jasmine for her patience and skill. She handled the sedation of my leg perfectly, and her professional demeanor really put me at ease. Also want to thank nurse practitioner Lopez for convincing me to have my procedure done with positions vascular services. Finally, my thanks go to Dr. Martinez. He made me feel completely comfortable and ensured the entire procedure was entirely pain-free. I will be highly recommending Physicians Vascular Services to anyone in need of these procedures. Thank you for employing such a talented and compassionate team.

Made me feel nervous and not confident about the treatment they are giving when this is going on in front of you. It just shows the lack of respect for the patient and there health. Not to mention complete conversations about non work related topics while waiting for the doctor to come in before your procedure, just completely ignoring you or as if you were not even there. Stay far away from these place. I Saw a mistake occur they lie to the doctor or say it was you to cover their ass and the MA's and PA's cover for each other.

They emphasize paperwork and money over the care of the patient. Horror Story #2: Chemo port moved to Monday the 9th. Pretty close race between Paso del Norte Surgery and Arteries & Veins. Absolute madness in their scheduling - picture tired cattle moving from corral, up ramps, and into cattle cars for a long, long journey to slaughter. A little background: I was feeling horrible since last Thursday - queasiness, hot, clammy, and tingly in hands. Okay, my appointment was for 10:30 am. At 11:30, I went to the window to check on things. Just 20 more minutes, sir. Back to window at 12:00 to complain, they're about to call you. Sure enough, a few minutes later, I,m admitted to the inner sanctum. Basically, I'm admitted so I am out of the way where I proceeded to wait until until 4 pm at which time I am prodded into the operating room. Did I mention I am sick? Seriously, I would have left, but my 1st chemo was the next day, and I needed that port. I left Arteries & Veins at 5 pm. By this time, all the doctors have left. A PA did the procedure. I had to go on oxygen. Somewhat painful. When I got home, I discover two vitals electrodes left attached to my chest.

I unfortunately miss my appointment the Monday prior. Tried to reschedule on the phone. I was immediately ask to hold on the phone. After 5-10min hold. I hung up and call back. Once I got a answer. I shared very respectfully that I was on hold moments prior. The front desk manager ( which whom I was speaking too) immediately took defense ( very personal) n responded " that was not me that place you on hold, CAN I HELP YOU? ) with a unprofessional attitude. Almost like a disregard of me wait but like also like ( and ok HURRY UP so I can get you of the phone ) type attitude. Furthermore, since she over talk me... I hung the phone up and decided to hope in the car to making my way to the office. In the attempt to inform the doctor himself how unprofessional his front desk staff are acting. I arrived to the office and to eliminate any further disrespect from the front desk staff. I simply asked the staff can I speak to the doctor. Front desk staff, respond " no you can't and you will not speak to the doctor ". I felt helpless. Therefore, I Urge you / the people/ the community to not go here .
