I am writing to express my sincere gratitude for the exceptional care I received during my recent vascular surgery. While surgery can be a high-stress experience, your team went above and beyond to make me feel safe and comfortable. I want to specifically recognize Crystal, the physician's assistant. When I arrived, my blood pressure was 168/100 due to nerves. Crystal's incredible knowledge, expertise, and calming presence were so effective that she managed to bring my blood pressure down to a healthy 130/80 before the procedure. Her ability to comfort a nervous patient is unmatched, and I have already requested that my next surgery be at the Joe Battle location just so I can work with her again--it is well worth the extra drive. Definitely Crystal does need a pay raise or some type of monetary recognition. I also want to commend Jasmine for her patience and skill. She handled the sedation of my leg perfectly, and her professional demeanor really put me at ease. Also want to thank nurse practitioner Lopez for convincing me to have my procedure done with positions vascular services. Finally, my thanks go to Dr. Martinez. Medical assistants are continuously joking around during treatments. One staff member may ask a serious question just to get a rude or a response with an answer that has nothing to do with what was asked and they think this is funny. Made me feel nervous and not confident about the treatment they are giving when this is going on in front of you. It just shows the lack of respect for the patient and there health. Not to mention complete conversations about non work related topics while waiting for the doctor to come in before your procedure, just completely ignoring you or as if you were not even there. Stay far away from these place. I Saw a mistake occur they lie to the doctor or say it was you to cover their ass and the MA's and PA's cover for each other. read more

I cannot say enough positive comments about my experience. First of all, Dr. Furlong offers an orientation presentation where he discusses the causes, stages, and various treatments of varicose veins. That alone provides you with the information you need regarding your upcoming procedures. On top of that, he feeds you and gifts you a complimentary pair of compression socks. As far as the actual treatment, it was phenomenal. To begin with, one of his assistants preps you and puts you at ease. If you are nervous or have anxiety, they do offer various forms of sedation to help you out. I was having the radiofrequency vein ablation done to both of my legs (one a day). I had heard from others who went to different doctors that it was very painful, so I was somewhat agitated. Fortunately, I shared this with the assistant, and she shared her experience with me as she had just had that same procedure done last week. After speaking with her, I didn't have to ask for any special type of sedation. Then another assistant, Jasmine, came in to do the local anesthesia. Her competency is phenomenal. She has a real light hand. The only pain(if you can call it that) was comparable to a light prick you might feel when getting a shot. They prick you a couple of times up and down your leg for the local anesthesia. But to be honest, the only time I felt anything was the first time and it was very light. Once prepped, Dr. Furlong comes in and does the actual procedure. I swear I did not feel anything at all when he did the procedure. He engages you in conversation and before I knew it, it was over. It only took about 10 to 15 minutes at the most. I was given the post procedure instructions and was able to drive to work and continue my day. NO PAIN AT ALL DURING AND AFTER THE PROCEDURE. Needless to say, the next day when I went for my second day, I was not nervous at all. The second round went as smoothly as the first round. I highly recommend this establishment for varicose vein treatment. It was a most positive experience. The front office staff was very sweet as well. The offered a payment plan and gave me a choice as to what I could afford to pay in monthly installments. With this medical team standing by you, there is no reason to put off treating your varicose veins. read more

The physicians and staff are very knowledgeable. I went to the procedure(s) video and PowerPoint presentation with Dr. Furlong. My wife also attended. The presentation and all the explanations were very interesting and Dr. Furlong's anecdotes made it memorable and funny. Although some medical terminology was included, Dr. Furlong and his staff was ready and available to clarify any questions. BTW, Dr. Furlong's researched socks are amazing. Being made of cotton instead of synthetic fibers make a big difference in comfort and "wear ability". Others are uncomfortable in hot weather. Cotton is way better. This is a business that cares ONLY about MONEY! Doctor comes only for the procedures to be done and he rushes through it as fast as he possibly can. All diagnostics are done by stuff. You will not meet a doctor until the actual procedure and you will see him only for a few minutes as he does the procedure. During my first diagnostic procedure that was suppose to be a simple 15 minute thing, he ripped my vein and they could not stop the bleeding for a while and ended up putting stitches on. I got so scared that I seriously thought I was dying. Nobody even tried to apologize or explain why this occurred. I ended up with an enormous bruise on my neck that lasted for a couple of months. The next procedure he has done on me, was extremely painful and I can easily say it was a torture. No one warned me about the level of pain. Later on, the nurse said that the expected level of pain is 9-10 on the scale of 10! Finally, I was going to end my treatments with sclerotherapy procedure that I scheduled about four weeks in advance, took time off and made arrangements. When I called a day before to verify my treatment, the person at the front desk, named Hernan, said that I do not have an appointment at all! I still have a card in my hands with the day and the time of scheduled appointment written by the scheduling person! The only thing he offered to do was to reschedule it!? On the other hand, they will call you over and over again to collect the payments or verify upcoming procedures. They called and texted me every day for at least two weeks before every one of these procedures. I answered and verified my appointment but next day they call again not knowing who called the day before. Finally, I blocked the callers. And finally, since the doctor is not much there, his stuff makes all decisions. Like in my case, I saw with my own eyes that the person at the front desk DID schedule me for the procedure, but when I called later to verify it, I was not! And they refused to figure out how it happened. Hernan said it JUST happened. WOW!! I have a friend who had a vein procedure done here a little while ago as well. She told to me that she was traumatized with this experience and will never deal with them again either. read more

This is the best customer service I have ever received at any medical facility or doctor's office that I have ever received services at, and I've been to ALOT. All the staff from the receptionists, to the Medical Assistants, to the Nurses and Doctors are personable, friendly, and attentive. Dr. Furlong is one of the most experienced in his field and makes patients feel welcome and at ease. My experience here was just ok the 1st visit then I decided to go to Las Cruses location which I think the staff is so much helpful and friendlier. I got scheduled for a procedure and was told to wait on someone from Hawkins location to call with the details of the pre authorization from the insurance. Long story short, the person in charge of that ( Melissa) dropped the ball and submitted late. Apart from being rude and with little to no explanation as to why, She simply said that it wasn't submitted late and that I would have to wait for them to call me one week before procedure. Which makes no sense ... Why have a scheduled procedure that was done one month ahead and now its 10 business days till my procedure when it takes up to 15 days for insurance to give green light. What an inconvenience! The same thing happened to a friend of mine who warned me, but I didn't listen. She needs to learn people skills and how to treat the patients.
