The bottom line up front to my first and only visit to this campus, is that the medical treatment…read morethat was provided solved the medical problem that I went there for. Having said that, I cannot honestly say that I would ever go back, unless it was for a true life-threatening emergency. After speaking with associates who work in the medical field, they recommended that I never take a toddler to these types of medical facilities unless it was for a true emergency that involved loss of consciousness, loss of blood, or loss of breathing. I was told that it is best to take a toddler to a major hospital, since there is a much better chance that a pediatrician will be on-call, and can better handle pediatric emergency medical issues. Here was my experience: - When I walked through the entrance and up to the receptionist desk, I immediately noted that not one of the four personnel behind the glass had masks on. They were socially distanced, but did not have masks on. This set my alarm bells off, but when you have a toddler who needs medical attention, you do what you have to do. - After signing in, there was hardly any wait time, maybe 6-minutes. - A medical person in blue scrubs called on me, and when I went to the admitting area door, she did not once state who she was. - After weighing the baby in and giving the medical history to the medical person, a doctor(?) came into the examination room. The doctor(?) did not identify himself to me. - After examining the toddler, the doctor(?) suggested that I consent to an excruciatingly painful and invasive procedure for the baby. I reluctantly consented, deciding to err on the side of what's best for the child. - The three attempts at trying to carry out the invasive medical procedure, and hearing my baby's screams was heartbreaking, but again, I felt it was necessary in order to resolve the medical issue. My Lessons Learned: 1. Stay focused and ask for names and titles. This is hard to do when you go into an ER, because you are so focused on the medical issue that brought you there. 2. Take your time and make sure you fully understand whenever a medical authority suggests a medically invasive procedure. 3. Have a written history of the patient with you to ensure that the medical history is written down correctly. Mistakes can be deadly when information is missed, or a doctor writes down the wrong information that you dictate to them. This did happen to me, in that the doctor(?) wrote down an incorrect medical history, even though it did not result in any harm to the baby. 4. Think through all questions that are asked of you. For example, I was asked by the doctor(?) what was my name and date-of-birth. At first, I was offended, because not knowing my name indicated that he most likely did not look at the medical intake form, but I went ahead and gave him the information. According to my associates who work in the medical field, the doctor(?) probably took down my personal information to have a background check done on me. I don't know what that could have been about if it is true, but The Hospitals Of Providence have not yet contacted me after I addressed this issue to them. 5. Ensure that I have a full understanding of everything that the medical authority speaks about. There was one important bit of information that the doctor(?) did not elaborate with me on, but that I found out about after obtaining a copy of the medical treatment record. My intent with this post is not to scare anyone away from using this medical facility. I am sure they are fully capable of handling any and all emergency issues. If you have what you deem an emergency medical issue, you should go to the nearest medical facility for treatment. What I wanted to do is share my personal experience so that people can prepare themselves, so as to be able to make the best possible medical decisions during a stressful time.

This is a contract location. Not an actual Providence hospital ER. I went in on a Sunday and they…read moreattempted to chisel $1,000 out of me for the "deductible". Go to an actual hospital emergency room if at all possible.
