I have been a patient of Houghton Physical Therapy several times over the years and have been more…read morethan satisfied with the results every time. Most recently Adam and Todd worked with me to relieve shoulder pain that was greatly affecting my daily life. Going in I thought that I would very likely need surgery to relieve the pain which I had been experiencing for more than a year and was impacting my daily life. Through well planned out, patient and steady therapy laid out by Todd and administered by Adam, I slowly but steadily saw improvement to the point that I am no longer hampered by shoulder pain during normal activity. I am also able to play hockey and pickle ball again without restriction. I would recommend Houghton Physical Therapy to anyone that wants to work with a professional group of therapists who provide excellent results in a friendly and accommodating atmosphere.

I developed terrible residual nerve pain in my leg that made everything extremely difficult. I was fortunate to have Jennifer as my physical therapist. From day one, she pushed me to do more. She contacted my surgeon fo his approval, he was very impressed with her knowledge. I did 4 sessions of the needling and I feel so much better, I'm back to the gym and walking my dogs. I cannot express how thankful I am for Dr. Wagner and the knowledge, guidance and help he has given…read moreand continues to give me. To give a little background, I swam in both club and college and eventually found my way to triathlon once done with my swimming career. Last year I decided to train for my first full Ironman and about 5 weeks out from race day, developed IT band syndrome, causing pretty severe pain in the knee while running. As a swimmer, I already knew a good amount about training and rehab but had no idea how that fit in a cycling or running regimen. So I reached out to Dr. Wagner and knowing I was on a short timeframe, he was able to fit me into his schedule right away. Dr. Wagner educated me on what the likely causes could be and how I could go about treating the issue and I am so grateful for all of the information he was able to share with me along the way. However, I am most grateful for the fact that Dr. Wagner didn't just treat my injury. I felt that he treated me for who I am and what my goals were and took all of those into account when evaluating the best approach to rehab my injury. Other providers would likely have told me not to race and to start full rehab right away. Dr. Wagner worked with me to develop a plan where I had the potential to race, depending on my pain tolerance and ability to perform without sacrificing form. Sure it wasn't the quickest way to recovery but again, he treated me, not my injury. I am happy to report that I was able to follow his recommendations leading up to and during the race and finished successfully. Once done with the race, I was able to jump right into getting it healed up and am hoping to be ready to go for next tri season. Fortunately, I now have a ton more information about how to successfully prehab and avoid any future injuries. Dr. Wagner continues to be an excellent resource and I highly recommend him if you are in need of a knowledgable and compassionate PT.
