To give a little background, I swam in both club and college and eventually found my way to triathlon once done with my swimming career. Last year I decided to train for my first full Ironman and about 5 weeks out from race day, developed IT band syndrome, causing pretty severe pain in the knee while running. As a swimmer, I already knew a good amount about training and rehab but had no idea how that fit in a cycling or running regimen. So I reached out to Dr. Wagner and knowing I was on a short timeframe, he was able to fit me into his schedule right away. Dr. Wagner educated me on what the likely causes could be and how I could go about treating the issue and I am so grateful for all of the information he was able to share with me along the way. However, I am most grateful for the fact that Dr. Wagner didn't just treat my injury. I felt that he treated me for who I am and what my goals were and took all of those into account when evaluating the best approach to rehab my injury. Other providers would likely have told me not to race and to start full rehab right away. Dr. Wagner worked with me to develop a plan where I had the potential to race, depending on my pain tolerance and ability to perform without sacrificing form. Sure it wasn't the quickest way to recovery but again, he treated me, not my injury. I am happy to report that I was able to follow his recommendations leading up to and during the race and finished successfully. Once done with the race, I was able to jump right into getting it healed up and am hoping to be ready to go for next tri season. Fortunately, I now have a ton more information about how to successfully prehab and avoid any future injuries. Dr. Wagner continues to be an excellent resource and I highly recommend him if you are in need of a knowledgable and compassionate PT.

I made an appointment and when I got there I was seen by Lauren Martinez PA. She was excellent. She ordered X-rays and examined me. She diagnosed the pain in my left arm as arthritis in the shoulder. She offered two solutions. 1 physical therapy a 2 steroid injection. I chose PT and did 6 weeks of PT but it did not solve the problem. I had my doubts about the cause being arthritis and therapist concurred. I tried to make an appointment with Dr. Rogers to discuss additional imaging to see if there was any muscle or nerve damage. The office told me I would be contacted. I received a call stating Dr. Rogers usually only sees patients who require surgery or injections. They offered another doctor in Mansfield I might try. I'm curious when you have a doctors appointment and see a PA instead does the insurance company get build a lower rate than when you see the doctor. It's disturbing to me that a doctor won't see a patient who request an appointment. I hope the PA is well paid. Again I reiterate she was excellent. I gave the practice 2 stars because the office was nice and the PA did her job.

The doctor wrote two prescription: one for an NSAID (Meloxycam) and one for physical therapy. I had never been to a physical therapist and had no idea what to expect. I had my last session this morning and could not be more satisfied. Bay State Physical Therapy in Halifax, Massachusetts is spotlessly clean. The staff thoroughly cleaned each table and replaced each pillowcase after each patient. Every employee and patient wore masks during all of my sessions. The receptionist, Colleen, always made me feel welcome and did an excellent job scheduling my sessions. My Physical Therapist, Christy Dillon, did an amazing job bringing my old, arthritic lower back and neck back to life! Christy patiently taught me how to do each stretching exercise and answered all of my questions.
