PFRS came to clean the floor of our large garage/storage area following recent flooding. There was no easy way to remove the mud and debris left by the water. Their team worked extremely hard and was able to hose some, but not all, areas. So they scrubbed with mops and buckets. They left it pristine. They moved heavy items and managed to get to much more of the area than we anticipated. Staff was very professional and courteous. Highly recommend! We are in Menands, NY. read more

While I appreciated the initial responsiveness to the issues in my home, the response from the owner when I had issues regarding the cleaning of our oriental antique area carpet that is family heirloom and irreplaceable was dismissive, defensive and lacked any meaningful desire to address the fact that the carpet was returned 14 hours after it had been picked up and now is full of mildew since it was stored rolled up for weeks (since I mistakenly assumed it had been properly dried). The owner insisted that I was wrong and it was not returned the following day to me and did not take any responsibility. As a fellow small business owner, I am sensitive to persons lashing out at any business for not having satisfactory service but this was outrageous, especially being a woman and having a man - that is the owner - speak to me in such a demeaning way - I would never deal with this company again. read more

On April 20th we had a house fire. It was contained mostly to our mud room, but there was definitely damage! Our insurance adjuster recommended Professional Fire Restoration, as they would clean to get rid of the smoke smell and they would do the reconstruction we needed, basically replacing drywall and the door. We were told to have them submit the bill to insurance. They arrived and spent 4 days here cleaning our mud room, kitchen, bathroom, and living room - 4 rooms total. They cleaned everything on the shelves and steamed our curtains and furniture. House looked nice! A few days later, we got a call from them saying they had no one to do the repairs. It was April and we had a hole through the wall- we needed to have it done! We finally hired another company who was able to get the job done. A couple of weeks later, we got 2 checks from the insurance company. One was made out to us AND Professional Fire Restoration for almost $6000. The other was enough to cover the construction company and the electrician we needed to hire. I don't think what Professional Fire Restoration did was worth that much. I have called several times asking for an itemized invoice so I can see how they come up with that figure. Every time, I have left a message with my name, phone number, and e-mail address. I always am told someone will get back to me. I have yet to get a response from them. Needless to say, I don't think I would recommend them to anyone. This business gets zero please don't ever use them. The owner David Johnson aka DJ is horrible and totally not a business man or shouldn't even be a business owner. I own a condo had molded issue from owner above me my HOA CYC Realty hired them and they lost all my Mikasa crystal including wine glasses wine decanter and crystal vases along with plaques my mom left me when she died which are the memories. Months went by aka DJ never called me back but they didn't have a problem getting my almost 10k insurance check for all the work. Finally got a hold of him he actually told me to ask my contractor because he must of stole my stuff which it was 2 months later before I could get a contractor schedule and my crystal was already missing. Then to tell me someone must of broke into my condo and stole my stuff is this DJ on drugs really ! And then he hung up on me and I called back would not take my calls. This is very serious and don't let these people into your homes they shouldn't even be in business on top of it all they ripped my condo apart like animals damage my new doors broke my washing machine which I didn't have for 2 months. I just google them and saw other reviews were they lost other peoples stuff ignore them when they questioned them and never helped them. Yes lost items are lost that's why you have insurance they never even said would put a claim in and again cashed my insurance check ASAP when they got it. I hope this review will help others from losing valuable items plus any memories you have that are replaceable please do not use this company and I would love to see this snake out of business who had no compassion about me losing my personal valuable things. I would not hire this company based on the work they did for me. I had a small fire in one room of my rental property's apartment. I was recommended by the insurance company to use PFR. Like the review below stated, they quoted the insurance company to both clean the damage and make repairs. At the time I was out of state due to Covid and was unable to come supervise the work. Additionally, the tenant who occupied this apartment was in the hospital. PFR took advantage of this situation. First, they did a number of unnecessary repairs. Although the fire was contained in one room, the second room had some smoke damage. However, instead of just cleaning the second room, they removed all the walls and the flooring of both rooms, and completely took down the partition wall that separated the rooms. Second, PFR removed the damaged items but also took furniture and other items that were not damaged, as shown in the photos that the fire department took prior to the work being done. My tenant said he had a number of missing valuables that had been kept in the items that were removed. After doing the demolition they stopped and refused to finish. I had to hire another contractor to complete the renovation. When I called and spoke to the owner asking for pictures, he said they threw them out once they were paid. He did not know what happened to the items that were missing and why they were removed to begin with. read more

I think they need to remove the word "Professional" from their name. Restoration, by their standards, involves a bunch of people they call in for each phase of the work (scaffolding, tear out, put back, paint, take down scaffold, clean up) In our case, we endured a month with our place completely scaffolded while, with a reasonable degree of coordination, the work could have been completed in a third of the time. While each trade did their work well, there was no scheduling, no coordination, no communication. I fail to understand why this outfit is still in business. read more

We had a fire this summer and we used Professional Fire Restoration. This group came highly recommended from a friend of mine who also had a fire. I can only say that I would use this group again! Very quick in responding and super efficient in cleaning my house. Thank you DJ and staff! read more
