I originally gave five stars to Stanley Steemer because they are responsive and they do good work cleaning the rug. However, lately (the last two carpet cleaning experiences) were extremely expensive for the amount of time they spent actually cleaning the rug. They were here for about 20 minutes and it cost me over $160! Also, after the guys left I called the manager. I talked to him about pricing and an incident where one of the workers dropped a piece of equipment on my tile floor, he was rude to me. I think next time I am going to shop around for another rug cleaning service. read more

Tyler came and did Livingroom, faimly room, bathroom floor, hall, stairs and sectional. He worked hard, and was very polite . He gave me information about what he was doing and how often to do it. He recommended a pet rug brush for pet hair. I was so impressed with his knowledge and hard work . I will be using Stanley Steamer again and this time for vent cleaning. Wow, 10 stars! Jeremy and Mark arrived on time. They were professional, friendly and got the job done quickly. Cannot believe the difference - the whole house is brighter. Photos show examples and tell the story best. I appreciated the explanation for the deodorizer since we have pets...they didn't "sell" this to me, but explained why it was a good idea - logically and with no pressure. 200 bucks for 2 rooms and a staircase, cleaned and deodorized. I was shown pictures of ducts that the salesman had cleaned earlier that week and they were sparkling clean. The young men who came to "clean" mine blew air in my vents, never taking the covers off as I was told they would, never checking inside to see what they looked like or comparing before and after. They also put back the dirty filter. One would think that after the estimate, once there was an agreement for service, a filter would also be included for $512! What an absolute rip off to blow a hose in ductwork then leave and charge $500 for a 900 sq ft ranch! All of my vents are easily accessible and no furniture had to be moved have 13 vents total! And there's still visible "gunk" in my ducts. read more

Okay, so I moved into my apartment not to long ago and discovered a dog piss smell. I tried everything from vinegar and baking soda to crying in the corner. I had no other choice but to get help to get the piss smell out so I made an appointment online and the guy calls me the next day to let me know piss in hardwood floors might not work. I still had to try it and I did. They came the next day, they already knew what to do and it took them 30min and they showed me the water that came out the floor and it was pitch black. "Gross". I'm so happy at the job and price of what they did, I will make another appointment in a couple months to do it again. I can't even give them one star. Customer service is fine when booking, however when you have a problem they are rude, hang up on you and management is non existent. I had 15 vents cleaned for a forced hot air system in July. They talked me into adding disinfectant for another $300. This consisted of them spraying a lysol type spray into each vent. Forward to last nigh in Oct. when we turned the heat on. Smoke filled the rooms, sparks came out of the vents and the new filter on the furnace was filled with whatever gunk they sprayed into the system! Will not address the issue. Don't use them - the price you are quoted online is not what you will be charged and never let them disinfect your vents! read more

Do not use Stanley Steemer for your carpets. When we called to make an appointment, we were told to take things off the floor and they would move the furniture to do the cleaning. The person who showed up said they do not move dressers, etc, just clean around the furniture. When we called the local office, they said that the technician they sent should have had sliders to move the dressers and blocks to put them up while the carpet was drying. And, by the way, they said they would take $20 off the bill for the misinformation. Big deal. read more

Agree that this service is a waste of time and money. This was a disaster from the start. I calculated a quote online and then was given a different price of more than $50 when the cleaners showed up. Area rugs apparently don't count as "rooms" even though the space cleaned was far smaller than a wall to wall carpet. No stains were removed, and the cleaner used left a powdered residue. Similarly, I had the upholstery on the couch cleaned. They hit some areas while missing others- The machine they used left wet spots where it was cleaned, and the areas they missed were completely dry. I didn't pay for spot cleaning! Rent a rug doctor instead. UPDATE: Upon contacting the company to express my disappointment in the results, they offered to come back and clean the carpets again. The rep I spoke with seemed to genuinely care that I was satisfied with the service and company. read more

This was my first time getting the carpets cleaned and I couldn't be happier with Stanley Steemer services! Charles Vasconcellos and Dan Gregory from the Green Island, NY location came out to do the work and what a pleasure it was to work with them! They called to let me know their planned arrival time - a mere 20 min. into the 3 hr. window. Charles did the pre-walkthrough with me, letting me know exactly what to expect and to learn if I had questions or concerns while Dan began the set-up from the truck. They cleaned 3 decent-sized rooms (family, living and dining) the stairway AND the upstairs hallway (which was added on to the order at my request when they came onsite) in just one hour, keeping me apprised as they were moving through - wow! Now, theses rugs are over two decades old. They've had foot traffic, family meals happen, and too-many-to-count spots from cats throwing up over the years (not nice to hear but had to be said). As I said, first time cleaned like this with the shield protection and deodorizer and they are all brighter, fresher - looking great! Every single one of the rugs is a Berber style - challenging to really clean - but Charles and Dan paid a lot of attention to detail in getting tough spots out. I had been a little worried about how the cats would react to any of the cleaning products but we're several hours out and they're not having any reactions. I'm someone with migraines that can sometimes be triggered by odors but no problem with what they used. Noise can also trigger a migraine for me. The sustained sound from the truck during the cleaning - unavoidable and necessary - was a bit much for me so I put my earplugs in and migraine was averted. The team was super understanding about the need for the earplugs and made sure they had my attention when it was needed without startling me. My expectations overall were exceeded! read more

The guys arrived during the designated time period, were friendly and got right to work. I had two sofa's cleaned. The next morning when the sofa's were dry, I noticed that there was still some dirty spots, especially around the edges of the cushions which have piping. My husband called and the same crew were sent out that day. They re-cleaned the areas where I still saw dirt, and now my sofa's look like new. I used Stanley in the past and had good results. However, my last time was horrible. I took the time to clear out the rooms and thoroughly vacuum, so they only had to clean the rugs. My rugs were completely streaked with clean and dirty areas, and they smelled. I called and asked for a re-do. After much insisting, they sent another crew out the following week. It became an issue when they only wanted to spot clean the dirty areas and I was promised all the areas. They did a rushed job and the carpets still had an odor. I paid a hefty price and got very poor service, not to mention taking time off from work and boarding the dog for each cleaning. They have lost my business and my referrals. read more

I called SS as my neighbor uses them annually. I needed just my upstairs hallway and staircase cleaned after a few years of general foot traffic. The online scheduling and payment was as easy as it gets. Follow up and scheduling on point. The guys were quick and polite, no mess and were careful of my freshly painted walls. They even did a few extra swipes into each bedroom doorway. A few days after the cleaning they called to make sure I was pleased with their work and thanked me for the business. I can't recommend Stanley Steemer enough. I was lucky enough to have John and Mark show up. Both of them were very friendly and able to answer all of my questions regarding the product and process. At one point, John had accidentally left a black mark on the wall in the bedroom (which I get, it's a small room), but promptly informed me of it, even going as far as giving me some free Stanley Steemer branded products as an apology. This cleaning was planned specifically for when my parents would be away from their apartment for 2 days. The technicians came 35 minutes before our specified 2-6 time slot. My handicapped Dad asked them to wait until 2pm (our time slot), when my Mom would be back to pick him up. They refused, and said they would be back the next day. Totally unexceptable. read more

This Stanley Steamer location has two male employees who came to clean our furniture. They were unprofessional in every way. They were yelling back and forth to each other about personal matters (topics that should NOT be discussed at work let alone in someone's home). They were rude and I would not recommend them to anyone I know. I think that customer service and quality of work (results) go hand in hand. I was quite disappointed. They spent maybe 40 minutes on 4 rooms, and they did not remove the animal smell from the carpets which was our only goal. How can you clean a carpet well in 10 minutes per room? I paid $240 for 40 minutes with 2 guys that did not deodorize the carpets. That's $180 per man hour. What a rip off. read more
