I have my pedicures by Jimmy, nails done by Tracy and lashes by Anne. I have been getting my services here for years. Jimmy just started doing my pedicures. His leg and foot massages are so good, so relaxing, and I fall asleep every time! Jimmy is so thorough and my toes leave pretty every 2 weeks. The owner is professional and kind, and the staff is so friendly they are like family the way they treat members of the community and new customers. Every appt is prompt as scheduled, and if there are any delays, which is normal in the service industry, they give advanced notice. I love that the shops are close so all my errands are complete at one stop. The parking is easy, the parking spaces are large and rarely parking rage. I feel so mad, I come to do some "pedicure" but in the moment they take out my gelish it hurts so bad... I didn't say anything, after he go to do my gelish I ask "you don't do massage" and he answer like: no after and with one sound like EWK, like omg how dare him talk like that, and then after continue laughing with his coworkers. DON'T GO THERE, I bring my step daughter to have an excellent experience but I think I made the wrong call. Another thing we ask for only gel in the hands and they did manicure but they didn't ask us ! Like man you pay more bc they do things the we don't ask. Just don't go there. This was the worst experience I've had in a nail salon. The tech cut me and hurt my toes repeatedly without apologizing and left to work with someone else before finishing the services I asked for. Then when I asked to pay with credit card, three of the techs raised their voices and yelled for me to "pay in the back." They only wanted to accept cash. Shady to say the least. The tech literally took my arm and tried to drag me to the back. I resisted and ultimately they took my credit card payment, but it got very weird. So I really was hoping to love this place because it's so close to my house. My nails looked like a child did them. So uneven and lumpy. Cathy did a horrible job. When she first put on the nails and cut them I told her 2 of them were crooked and she said she'll fix it but she never did. I wish I took pictures because I was so embarrassed of how bad my nails looked. She didn't even shoe them to fit my nail beds they where so wide. I tried to go back to speak to a manager but every time I tried she wasn't available, so I gave up. After a day with a new set the gel polish was chipping off on all of my nails. First impression means so much, and I should've trusted my instinct. At first glance, this place is sloppy and not clean. I wanted to give them a chance since they are so close to home. My fault :( They had several nail techs sitting around playing on their phones. A gentlemen employee was sitting with his shoes off and feet kicked up falling asleep in the corner @ 9:30 am. Bad look. I'm not a picky person and I asked for what I thought was something quite simple. Unfortunately most of my nails came out crooked, misshaped and several had air holes. Technician used an old file that was obviously used several times. They don't do a very good job at making people feel welcome. After asking if she could fix nails that were crooked, she would roll her eyes and just file same side. First thing I asked when I walked in is if they did chrome. They said yes, sat me in a chair, and an older (the oldest woman, just to be specific since i didnt learn her name) came over to be my manicurist, told me to pick a color of gel. I asked for the chrome colors and she tells me she doesn't do chrome. I told her I was confused because I asked if they did chrome and they said yes. She said, "they do, I do not". So I said "Can I wait for someone who can?" It's literally the only thing I asked for, why would you match me with someone who can't do that thing? They change ladies, the one doing my nails, started the base (the black for the chrome) and then changed her mind? I don't understand what happened because she took it off by buffing my nails so hard that the heat burned through the bed, it HURT. Then they said "are you SURE you want chrome?" "Yes" "You know it costs more" "Yes" "Maybe just nails fingers?" Sigh "sure" Then they asked more, tired of being pressured, I told them I was fine with normal gel if they could do an ombré. I showed them a picture (of an old usual from the city I used to live in) and she said with confidence, "oh yeah. I can do that" No she can't. She took a coat and streaked it across the nail. I stopped her after one and said, forget it, I'll just take a solid color. She then went on to tell me my nails were soft....k. Didn't explain what she meant or expected of me from this point. She just continued. She did two coats, then asked me if she should do more...I told her I don't know. The feet were a different story. Young and new to it, she asked a lot of questions from the other ladies. You're new, that's fine. My massage was forgotten, she didn't clean my nails or my cuticles. She was nice though. My massage for my arms was quick and done, uneven. First arm was done for a kind of normal amount of time, second arm, she literally put lotion on my arm and rubbed it in like i would at home, then got up and left. The gel on my fingers started coming off two days later and left my nails looking awful. I've NEVER had my nails look melted and missing layers. My nails as they grew out had a noticeable divot and broke consistently. Pictures are post two months of growth. Never going back. read more

When I entered the shop, the ladies there were friendly and got me all set up within 15 minutes. They had the massage lounge chair which feels like a great luxury. The problem I had was with my actual pedicure. The price was reasonable but not written anywhere. I had to ask. Second, pedicure was so short even with added calluses removal. Third, the lady kept making mistake. When I asked her to fix it, she was very nice about it but made the exact same mistake again. Epic fail. I have been coming here off and on over the years. This place is very dependent on who you get, and how busy it is. They aren't always upfront about their prices, and they often try to up-sell walk-ins. I've seen people leave, outraged that they weren't told about the extra costs for a flower, scrub, etc. The acrylics here are ok. I've been cutt by the drill or tools by the manager who quickly tried to cover it up. Some girls drill too much of the nail bed too. On the wall they have designs that look rather cool "airbrush designs". When I asked for them in the past they didn't offer any of that, yet they were displayed by the entrance on the wall and framed......? At least 40 + designs. Okay, that's weird. The pedicures are ok, but the tubs are not really cleaned at all between customers (gross). They will hastily splash hot water on them especially when it's busy, and rush the next person onto the chair while they begin to fill the water. Because of this my mom got a fungal infection on her feet. Her skin was hot and itchy for days and then the bottom skin of her feet turned red and began to flake. It took a long battle with medicines to get rid of it, she never came back and neither did I. Summary: 1) Prices are ok - not upfront at all. You will probably spend more than you may have thought. 2) I've been personally cutt (and bleed) and have heard other women complain of it too. 3) Not really sanitary at all. The only reason I can think that people come back is because it's next door to Starbucks and Albertson's so it get's heavy traffic. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!! read more

The staff were very friendly and were able to get my mom and I in immediately on a walk-in basis, but after our spa pedicures I realize that there may have been a reason for that. I liked the fact that they did not pull the "up-charge" practice that is so common in nail salons these days. We were told the price upfront, but for what we got it was way too much. We got a weak foot massage and a uber quick leg scrub. They didn't really shape my toenails and definitely did not do any work on my cuticles. Because of this, I had to redo my pedicure after a week. The woman that started was working on me immediately ditched me to work on another (and apparently well-known client) that came in for nail services and the receptionist ended up painting my nails. I also noticed that they did not do a great job cleaning out the spa bath. I am pretty sure that I will not be back unless there was some sort of pedicure emergency. read more

I have 2 big peeves about this place - They did not put on my nails straight and then insisted that it was straight. Reminded me of Anjelah Johnson's comedy " Oh hunny no that your finger do like that"- if you don't know what I'm talking about youtube 'Anjelah Johnson nail salon' - They bounced me around from person to person. One person took off my nails, but then left to go help somebody else, then somebody did my fill, and then somebody else painted my nails. When one person can't finish your nails it makes you feel like the other customers who they keep leaving you for are more important and I felt that it was rude. Not sure why I gave them so many chances to impress me but I'm sad to say that even though they have a convenient location it's worth it to drive a little out of my way for better service and lower prices! read more

My reason might be petty but I really don't care to patronize a place of business that has stickers on the window stating that they accept Visa and MasterCard but when I handed the gal my debit card she asked, "Oh, don't you have cash?" Well, not enough with me. She pointed at an ATM that is conveniently located in the shop. I refuse to use it because on top of the fees that my bank charge me for going outside of the system, that machine would've also charged me. I typically don't write reviews. This salon is such a mess...just had to do it. First off, the place is a mess. Stained towels, manicurists with stained uniforms and lots of stuff laying around on the floor. Should have been my first clue. The worst of it all is that the dirty, used utensils were put back in the same box they came out of. The box that was clearly marked CLEAN. There was no attempt on the part of the woman who did my manicure to make it a pleasurable and relaxing treatment. She half heartedly took of the gel polish that remained and made a couple passes with a nail file before she laid on the new polish. I left this salon with nails that are bumpy and rough, plus crooked and jagged. Won't even describe how she laid the lotion on one arm, but not the other! Would never consider going back. My daughter went with me, and even tho they were busy, and we were "walk ins" we only waited a couple minutes, and got to sit next to each other. I rarely take the time out to write a bad review, but felt compelled this time. I went to this salon 2 years ago and swore I would never go back due to the poor job and service received. I decided today to go back and give it another try. What a mistake, I again was Very Very Very disappointed. I wish I had gotten the lady's name who did my pedicure as she was very good. However, I had Lucy do my gel fingernail. What a mess! I kept telling her to not do my nails sharp and square but apparently that is all she knows to do. So I thought I am not going to fight this and I can fix that when I get home and reshape them. The tips that she added are actually curled upward and look like ski slopes... how does that happen? My nails look like a roller coaster. I came home and spent another 30 minutes trying to correct the mess that she made...but they are beyond repair. I will need to go again to my regular salon (Bernardo Nails who have always done an amazing job) and spend another $85 to have someone else re-do. Save your time, energy and MONEY... do not go here and if you do, ask who you are getting and don't get them done by Lucy. She should have her license taken away.... that is how disappointed I am. read more

I visit ProfessioNail & Spa in Rancho Bernardo about every three weeks. Tina does my acrylic fills (pink & white) and Tom does my pedicure. My nails are absolutely perfect and better than anyone has ever done them, including Los Angeles. When we moved to San Diego, it took me almost two years to find Tina. She was recommended by a friend, and I would not go anywhere else. Tom does my pedicures and he is professional and gives me a great pedicure and wonderful designs during the year on my big toes (flowers/snowman, etc.). I have never had any problem with ProfessioNail. I usually make my appointments, but have seen many people walk in for manicures and pedicures. Helen, at the front, also does nails and is the most pleasant of people. All in all I give this an "A" rating in all ways. read more

I wish there was a ZERO STAR RATING because this place was THE WORST experience I have EVER had at a nail salon. Now, I am not one to leave reviews, but I felt the need to warn others about how disrespectful, inconsiderate, and disgusting this place really is. To start off, I walked in to the salon and was taken right away to have waxing done (which I have had here before). The entire process was extremely rushed. I don't remember this ladies name but she is there most of the time. She didn't even close the door to the salon room so customers and other associates were just walking by looking in while I was having my waxing done. This didn't bother me too bad, but at least have some courtesy. After she rushed through, she hardly went back to touch anything up with tweezers (which always should happen because waxing doesn't get everything). She then rushed me to a chair to begin my pedicure. Same lady who did my waxing began my pedicure. Didn't touch up my toe nail shape at all. Actually CUT me to the point where I bled. But it gets better. She blamed it on the TOOL and said it wasn't her fault. Oh really? Who is in control of the tool? Anyways, this isn't even the worst of it. After my super speedy pedicure and pathetic "massage", she asks me to walk over to a chair while my toes are still wet. She had to redo the polish on one toe 3 times because she didn't realize the first time it got messed up that she should put more paper towel in between the two toes. I went and grabbed my own paper towel and did it myself because I didn't want it to happen a fourth time. I asked for a full set of acrylics, sparkly white tips and pink powder. Basic, everyday task. She asks what length I would like and I told her I prefer shorter for work. She began to give me attitude and told me that "long nail look sexy". Uhm. I'm sorry but isn't this about what I want? Literally a reenactment of Anjelah Johnson's Nail Salon video (if you haven't seen it, watch it!) After she put the white and pink powder on, she took NAIL CLIPPERS and began cutting off the nails to make them shorter. I have had my nails done MULTIPLE times and I have NEVER seen this done. It is usually filed down to maintain the powder which is still in the process of drying. I was thinking to myself that the white part is just going to fall off any minute. Better yet, it does. And after she tried to fix it, it looked even worse. I look at the jagged, messed up nails and was filled with utter disappointment. I told her that it wasn't what I had asked for at all and the white part became way too small after she hacked off the nails with those clippers. I asked to have them redone because if I am paying that much money for a manicure, I would prefer to have them done the way I asked for. She got angry and began speaking Vietnamese to this other lady. Pointing at my hands and lifting them up to show the other salon people. Extremely embarrassed, I sat there waiting to figure out what was happening. This lady named Tracy walked up to look at my nails and uttered a very insulting Vietnamese phrase that I recognized (I only know two things in Vietnamese and she managed to use one of them). I should have just walked out right then and there and taken my business somewhere else, but I ended up staying. This Tracy lady ended up being the one to redo my nails. She told me that she wasn't going to charge me for the first set and I was just baffled. You were thinking you were going to charge me for a set of half done, jacked up nails? Lovely. As she is doing my nails, she cut me twice and told me it wasn't her fault, and that it was because my hands are dry. NO!! It is because you put the spinning metal tool on my SKIN!! At this point, I was livid. She finished up and I looked at my nails. Super thin, extremely short, and a pathetic looking excuse for flower designs. After over $100 later, I left the salon and swore I would never walk back in there again. Now, today is Thursday, I left the salon on Tuesday and not even two full days later one of the nails broke. I walk into the salon today to have the nail fixed since I am going out of town and Tracy says "It's only one nail broken?". Then she says, "You listen to me. I told you that if you got square nails it was going to break. This is not my fault". I have never been talked to like this, especially at a place where I have spent so much time and money, and to be insulted so many times like this? I ended up having that one nail redone by some other lady who did a horrible job and left excess white powder where it was supposed to be scraped off. I really hope this place either shuts down or is taken over by new management, because the employees are extremely rude and horrible people. ALSO, the don't sanitize ANYTHING. They clean their tubs with hand soap, and they mop the floor with their bare feet and a towel that they scoot across the floor with. DISGUSTING. read more

I'm not sure what the deal is with a lot of these people and their negative reviews. Not to be rude but it seems a little high maintenance - and I am high maintenance! Maybe try somewhere in Del Mar or RSF? Even there, I am not sure how amazing the quality of the salon will be. Anyway, I've been going to this place for over 10 years and they are amazing! I am very picky about who does my nails because I like them to be done a certain way (I want them to last and not lift in a week). That being said, I can literally go to any of the girls here and my nails won't come off for over 6 weeks - awesome! My main girl is Kim and she's great. When I need an emergency appt and she's not working (only Sunday), then I know I can go to any of the other girls and get them done just fine. The cleanliness of the spa is much better than any others that I have been to, and I've been to a lot. They tend to get busy during the evenings and weekends so I would suggest making an appt even if there isn't someone specific that you want to go to. If for some reason you can't make an appt, they are always accommodating and they fit you in in a very timely manner. All of the ladies are very nice and they make it a point to remember your name. I have referred many people here and they have all become long term customers. Many of the Poway and RB moms and teens come here and love it. I used to live in RB and then moved to San Marcos. I love this place so much that I choose to go to it over the Professionail in San Marcos which is right next to my house! Don't let the bad reviews fools you. This is a great place. read more
