I can see my progress and that I am getting stronger and the pain is going away. No longer do I feel frail and limited and what I can do. I've gotten a routine where I go to Physical Therapy and then also several days a week go to a class. I am able to ask my Mariner's PT about certain class exercises and whether I should be doing them. The therapist actually had me show her how I was doing the exercise and corrected me and showed me how to do it in a way that was strengthening and not harmful. I have worked with Katherine, Courtney, Cassidy and Mark and they are all fantastic.

From the minute I walk-in, I'm greeted by warm friendly faces -- the front office staff are super helpful, professional, and kind. The doctors of physical therapy perform medical grade massages, hitting all the tight, stiff, and sore places. Anytime I have a flare up, the doctor can get me moving again! The chiropractic doctors provide gentle adjustments that keep me feeling good and moving nicely throughout the week. Prior to meeting Drew, I spent six months with a different physical therapy team and had yet to see much progress. Drew did an initial assessment and workout with me and recommended a course of action. He assigned me to a fantastic therapist named Emily. What I like about Emily and the whole Motus team is that I get to spend the entire session with a physical therapist. This is such a refreshing change from seeing the PT for 10 minutes and then working with an assistant for the whole time. Moreover, I learned from talking to Emily about the very high standards that Drew has for hiring his team and the advanced education that he requires to qualify for an interview. His team has a lot of experience working with college and pro athletes, which tells me they are outstanding. My experience has been fantastic! I went from not being able to do a push-up due to my rotator cuff to being able to complete a full-body workout with no pain. At the same time, I have a very unique program that I can do with me when my time ends, and I was being pushed every workout that I had. Since I'm an old dude trying to live like a young dude, I occasionally run into some nagging injuries. Emily has been absolutely fantastic at helping me work through those or giving me some tips and tricks to help prevent them. They hire people who truly care. From the security, front desk, CNA's, nurses, therapists, and food staff. They were all amazing individuals who would help at the drop of a hat. Or get someone who could help you. My husband was there for a month. We did have family there nearly all day. The staff would have him up dressed and in a wheelchair every morning. They didn't want him deteriorating sitting in bed all day. There were several seating areas both inside and outside. Which made wonderful places to visit. We also were able to bring food in for him and sit outside to eat. All the therapists were amazing. My husband made huge strides. Even when he was discharged they had everything we needed delivered to our home. Of course there are times when the staff would take a long time to answer the call button. They have so many patients with varying needs. So that is to be expected. My husband said where is room was made it difficult to sleep because it was noisy. There was a small TV at every bed, a little closet, shelves and nightstand for his belongings. To help keep from losing clothes they put a sign on his closet stating we would do our own laundry. I would leave a couple of outfits in the closet each day. And a bag for dirty clothes. They had water and ice set up by the nurses station. They have activities and church services. Overall it was a very good experience here

However, I have severe balance issues now, and 4 weeks ago fell, breaking my shoulder and bashing my knee. I didn't want to make my husband have to take care of me so elected to go to a nursing facility for PT and to get back on my feet. This place had an opening so off I went Awful, awful. Bedding reminded me of something that would be supplied in a homeless shelter. Majority of staff were CNA's that have a total of 6 weeks training. LVN's are young and quite oblivious of best medical practices. Maybe one RN once in awhile. Bathrooms adjoin with next room and no privacy if you are a patient that wears underwear and uses the toilet. And good luck getting the necessary soap, warm water and towels to wash up in the am and pm. "Shower day" is fun. Never been in prison but the handling during my shower was rough, hurried and cold. Last but equally horrible - the food. Dreadful bilge. And what is with giving patients milk? I havent had milk since leaving puberty. Short of impossible to get a cup of coffee. I ran for the hills after 4 days. Don't go here! Borrow money and get home care.​​​
